Suzy had comeback with her group miss A few days ago. In the showcase, fans asked her to sing in pansori but she said she forgot about it because preparing for the new album.

Idols Take Over the Silver Screen in 2016

It appears that idols are continuing to break the mold by taking on the world of film well into the next year.

At the Busan International Film Festival (BIFF) on October 3, CJ Entertainment revealed its lineup of films set to be released in 2016. The cast lists include a number of well-known idols, including miss A’s Suzy, EXO’s Xiumin and D.O, and singer Lee Seung Gi.

Some of the films in the lineup are “Collective Invention,” “Asura,” “Night of Seven Years” (based on the novel of the same title), “Gosanja, Daedong Yeojido.” The films set to be released are in a variety of genres, and feature a number of surprising idol debuts as well as comebacks.

Two of these are from global Hallyu group EXO, who are slowly gaining building a reputation in dramas and films. Member D.O is set to star in “Hyung” (working title) while Xiumin will debut in the historical comedy “Kim Seon Dal” (working title).

Suzy of miss A, known as the “nation’s first love” after her role in “Architecture 101,” is making her return to the silver screen through “Dorihwaga” (The Hymn), directed by Lee Jong Pil. The film is about a Joseon-era pansori (traditional Korean musical storytelling) master who teaches his art to the young daughter of a shamaness.

Although not really an idol singer, Lee Seung Gi will be appearing in “Chemistry” with director Hong Chang Pyo. The film is in the same series as 2013’s “The Face Reader,” and tells the story of a fortune teller who predicts compatibility between marriage prospects. Lee Seung Gi will be working with actress Shim Eun Kyung in this project.

The 20th Busan International Film Festival runs from October 1 to 10.

Suzy disguises herself as a man for upcoming film 'The Sound of a Flower' 

The poster and trailer for upcoming historical film 'The Sound of a Flower' is out, and we can already predict critical acclaim and a high box office. The movie stars miss A's Suzy, talented actor Ryoo Seung Ryeong (Miracle on Cell No.7) and Kim Nam Gil (The Pirates). 

The Joseon film is based on a true story back in 1867, about a man, played by Ryoo Seung Ryong who teaches pansori, a traditional type of Korean musical storytelling. A young woman, played by Suzy, wants to learn pansori but cannot because of her gender. So she disguises herself as a man, and will perform at the national pansori competition held by the father of the King, played by Kim Nam Gil.

The movie premieres on November 25!

Suzy Is Excited for the Long-Awaited Premiere of “The Sound of a Flower”

The date has finally been set for Suzy‘s comeback movie “The Sound of a Flower.”

On October 20, the miss A member teaser her big-screen return by sharing a poster for the movie along with the caption, “Finally. #TheSoundofaFlower 11/25.” The poster shows Suzy standing in the center and smiling brightly in her hanbok, surrounded by the male leads.

She followed up with another photo of herself wearing the beautiful costume, greeting fans as her character Jin Chae Sun.

Many have been anticipating updates on the movie’s production schedule, especially as the filming began in September 2014 and was wrapped up a few months later in January. It has now been confirmed that the movie will open in theaters on November 25.

Based on a true story, “The Sound of a Flower” tells the story of an aspiring pansori performer Jin Chae Sun (Suzy), who ends up becoming the first female to practice pansori in the patriarchal Joseon Dynasty, and her teacher Shin Jae Hyo (Ryu Seung Ryong).

Suzy revealed a photo that she took while shooting movie 'THE SOUND OF A FLOWER.'

On October 20th, Suzy uploaded a new photo on her Instagram and wrote, "My name is Jin Chae Sun #thesoundofaflower. November 25th."

The photo shows Suzy wearing costumes for movie 'THE SOUND OF A FLOWER,' and Suzy's lovely look is becoming a hot issue among many fans and netizens.

First Stills of Suzy in Upcoming Film “Dorihwaga” Revealed

The first stills of miss A‘s Suzy in her latest film “Dorihwaga” has been revealed on October 27.

After her big hit with “Architecture 101″ in 2012, Suzy is back to the big screen with a completely different kind of film.

“Dorihwaga” is based on a period when women weren’t allowed to sing pansori (traditional singing). The story focuses on the first-ever female pansori singer in the Joseon period, Jin Chae Sun (Suzy), and her teacher Shin Hae Hyo (Ryu Seung Ryong).

Suzy has practiced pansori for over a year preparing for this film and will be surprising the audience with her talent in satoori (dialect) and cross-dressing acting skills.

She revealed why she’d chosen this role, saying, “I cried when I read the scenario. Chae Sun wants to sing pansori but can’t do it well, and she feels so ashamed of herself. I felt those emotions when I was preparing to debut as a singer. I think I was able to focus well because of this. It’s a lot of pressure to play someone who is the first person to sing pansori in the Joseon period, but I had to pick this project because of its charms.”

Meanwhile, “Dorihwaga” will be coming to theaters on November 25.
