To clear our confusion about this statement below @Kris silva, here it comes clearer translation from another article.
Lee Min-ho had mentioned that he wanted to work with Kim Rae-won even before the casting started. He said, "The first movie site I went to was "My Little Bride" when I was 20 and Kim Rae-won is someone I just looked up to.

Character profiles for 12 characters appearing in the upcoming film “Gangnam 1970” have been released.

One of the profiles released is that of main character Kim Jong Dae, played by Lee Min Ho. In the film, Kim Jong Dae dreams only of living a comfortable life but becomes embroiled in a legal dispute over land development in Gangnam. The caption released with the profile reads, “I’m going to create my own land, without money.” This will be Lee Min Ho’s first lead role in a major film.

Another profile is that of character Baek Yong Gi, played by Kim Rae Won. Like Kim Jong Dae, Baek Yong Gi is a former orphan, holding ambitious dreams of rising to the top. Kim Rae Won’s handsomeness and subtle acting ability will bring a multidimensional aspect to the character.

We also get a glimpse of Jung Jin Young’s character Kang Kil Su, a former gang boss who acts as a father figure to Lee Min Ho’s character, a role unlike any other that Jung has played. Also shown is AOA member-turned-actress Kim Seol Hyun, who plays the innocent younger sister of Kim Jong Dae.

Photos of supporting actors Lee Yeon Doo, Kim Ji Su, Yoo Seung Mok, Choi Jin Ho, Jung Ho Bin and others were also released.

“Gangnam 1970” is a film that portrays the aspirations, loyalty, and betrayal of characters Kim Jong Dae and Baek Yong Gi in the midst of the development of 1970s Gangnam. It will be released January 21, 2015.

Second main poster of film ‘Gangnam 1970’ directed by Yu Ha has been released. Film <Gangnam 1970> is a story of desire, loyalty, and betrayal unfold in the background of Gangnam in early 70s. It also portrays friendship of Lee Min-ho(Kim Jong-dae) and Kim Rae-won(Lee Yong-gi).

The poster shows the climax of action scene that Yong-gi and Jong-dae fights in mud. It also represents desire of the two young men.

Lee Min-ho’s inexorable action and Kim Rae-won charging in upon the enemy in the poster also raises expectation for dramatic story of the film.

Film <Gangnam 1970> opens on January 21 next year.

Lee Min-ho reigns in muddy gang fight

Actor Lee Min-ho will show fierce action in the upcoming film “Gangnam 1970.”
The film distributor Showbox released its second official poster on Tuesday, featuring the tense moment of Lee and co-star Kim Rae-won covered in mud in a gang fight.
The scene is to be one of the most important moments of the whole movie, growing expectations of the film.

The upcoming noir film portrays the two men’s friendship, betrayal and lust for money and power around the Gangnam district in the 1970s, during the region’s real estate investment boom.
Lee plays the role of Jong-dae while Kim appears as Yong-ki. The two characters met and grew up together in an orphanage and get involved in the lives of gangsters.
The film is already receiving worldwide attention, preselling its distribution rights in more than 11 countries. The movie is also luring many viewers as it is Asian heartthrob Lee’s first lead role in a film.
The movie is to hit theaters on Jan. 21.

On December 23rd, a new poster for the upcoming movie Gangnam 1970, featuring lead actor Lee Min Ho, was released. 

The movie is a gangster film that tells the story of the blood, sweat, and tears that are shed by a character played by Lee Min Ho, with a whole series of events happening in 1970. While the first series of posters featured Lee Min Ho in what appears to be the aftermath of a fight in the mud, the new poster appears to be from right as the battle began. In contrast to the bloody and muddy mess from the first poster, Lee Min Ho appears clean and fresh as he prepares to throw a punch.

Gangnam 1970 stars Lee Min Ho and Kim Rae Won as its lead characters, and also features appearances from veteran actors Jung Jin Young and Jung Ho Bin. In addition to the seasoned actors, the movie has also cast Seolhyun from idol group AOA as Lee Min Ho’s sister.

With high expectations for the film, the copyright for Gangnam 1970 has already been pre-sold to 11 other Asian countries. The movie is set to debut soon with a release date of January 21st.
