Yoochun wins rookie of the year award at '4th SACF Beautiful Artists Awards Ceremony'

December 9, 2014         On December 9, JYJ's Yoochun was spotted at the '4th SACF Beautiful Artists Awards Ceremony,' which was held at Press Center International Conference Hall in Seoul, where he received the Rookie of the Year Award. 
For his speech, Yoochun humbly revealed to the crowd that he felt honored to be awarded such a prize but also revealed that he was embarrassed to have not done his homework in advance when he wasn't able to recognize the people who attended. 

He said, "Thank you. I didn't realize this would be such a difficult place to be. There are so many teachers, and people that I've never met before. Yes, promotions are important but I realized that it is also important to study when attending important events like this."

Yoochun continued, "When the news came out, I was happy about getting the prize money (~20,000,000 KRW or around $18,100 USD). But seriously, it's really not about the money and it's hard to wrap my head around the fact that I'm standing here receiving such an immense award." 

The idol-turned-actor then finished his speech and said, "I was lucky when I debuted and now I'm even able to film movies. Honestly, after I filmed a movie, I really just want to be in movies (for the most part) so my staff members are suffering. I'm sorry. I will work hard on my acting and enjoy working. Thank you for giving me this award and helping me to continue with my acting career. I will share the prize money with the staff members. Thank you." 

Meanwhile, Yoochun took on the role of Dongsik in the movie, 'Sea Fog,' which was released back in August of 2014. As Dongsik, Yoochun received much praise for the depth of his acting skills and the way he had expressed the overall character.

Member of trio band JYJ and actor Yoochun revealed his gratitude for receiving Best New Artist Award at the 4th Beautiful Artist Award ceremony held on Tuesday.

“I am too honored and grateful today to stand here and receive such a big award. I was also happy to know that I am receiving a lot of prize money. I plan to use it with the staff members,” Park said in his acceptance speech.

“After debuting on the big screen, I have been insisting on participating in movies rather than TV drama series. This is giving my agency a hard time on deciding my next work,” he added, revealing his passion for acting in more films.

The singer-actor was chosen to receive the award for playing the part of Dong-sik in the movie “Sea Fog.” Although it was his first challenge in the film industry, Park has received wide acclaim from viewers, directors and famous senior actors for his natural acting skills.

So far, Park has already won four Best Rookie Actor awards this year, and is aiming to seize another victory at the 35th Blue Dragon Film Awards.

The grand prize for the 4th Beautiful Artist Award went to actor Choi Min-sik, the hero of the hit film “Roaring Currents.”

JYJ hypnotizes Japan despite no promotion

K-pop boy band JYJ will continue their concert tour around Japan in December, following the successful sold-out concert in Tokyo.

JYJ recently wrapped up the two-day concert in Tokyo from Nov. 18, drawing 100,000 fans.

The trio, which already toured eight Asian major cities last year, returned to Japan in one year and seven months.

For the three-hour show, the boys communicated with the fans in Japanese and talked about their personal stories, getting closer to them.

JYJ has been gaining popularity in Japan despite no promotion of the group’s activities in the country. Their second studio album “Just Us,” released in July, topped the Japanese Tower Record Albums chart and ranked at No.2 on the Oricon Albums chart.

The idol band will hold the next concert as a part of “2014 JYJ Japan Dome Tour” on Saturday and Sunday in Osaka.

[Katie] At <2014 JYJ Japan dome tour, Osaka>, group JYJ presented fantastic performances to their 37 thousand Osaka fans. The Japan dome tour started with Tokyo Dome in November, and will continue on to Fukuoka dome on 23^rd and 24^th.

The CJES entertainment spokesperson noted that “Tokyo dome was the start of first Japan dome tour for JYJ, and has proven their fame in Japan by meeting 100 thousand fans in two days. Osaka dome tour was a continuity of the passion, and fans stood-up and enjoyed the live concert for the whole 3 hours”.

It was noted that three members sand in beautiful harmony, acute dance and powerful voice. They also presented fans with solo performances.

During the concert, JYJ made dirty jokes (Oyaji gag), making fans laugh. They also talked with Japans’ most popular memes, and even imitated Osaka’s unique lingual tone.

JYJ met with 75,000 fans over two days in Osaka Kyocera dome.

On December 13 and 14, JYJ launched its first ever Japan dome tour 2014 JYJ Japan Dome Tour Ichigo Ichie in Kyocera dome, carrying out its second dome concert since the Tokyo dome concert in November. A total of 75,000 audience members attended Kyocera dome concert over two days, selling out all tickets.

As soon as the concert was over, JYJ posted behind-the-scene photos from the concert on its official Facebook and wrote, “The best stage and once in a life time meeting! All thanks to you all.”

During this dome tour, JYJ presented songs from its 2010 world wide album The Beginning, the tracks from the first and second albums as well as Wake Me Tonight, presented for the first time during Tokyo dome concert, showing the history of JYJ. The fans that filled the dome cheered enthusiastically as they enjoyed the fantastic performances.



 
They also sang the happy birthday song for Kim Junsu along with the fans and made a promise to meet again for Christmas. The dome concert hall was filled with JYJ’s perfect live performances and the members’ sincere hope to interact with the fans, presenting fans with a once in a lifetime concert.

Having wrapped up Osaka dome concert following Tokyo dome concert, JYJ will be continuing 2014 JYJ Japan Dome Tour Ichigo Ichie in Fukuoka Yafuoku! Dome on December 23 and 24.

Park Yoo Chun Sweeps The 'Best New Actor' Awards This Year


[by Woorim Ahn]  Actor Park Yoo Chun won the ‘Best New Male Actor’ title at the ‘35th Blue Dragon Film Awards’. As he received the award, he made a record of ‘Grand Slam’ by winning 4 new actor awards this year.

CJeS Entertainment said, “Park Yoo Chun won the ‘Best New Male Actor’ at the ‘35th Blue Dragon Film Awards’, which was held at the Sejong Center for the Performing Arts on December 17. As he won 4 awards this year with his first film ‘Sea Fog’, he proved his ability as an actor.”

Prior to the ‘35th Blue Dragon Film Awards’, he won the best new male actor at the ‘34th Korean Association of Film Critics Awards’, ‘51st Grand Bell Awards’, and ‘15th Busan Film Critics Awards’. Therefore, he recorded the ‘grand slam’ by winning another one today at the ‘35th Blue Dragon Film Awards’.

In film ‘Sea Fog’, Park Yoo Chun played the innocent and youngest sailor ‘Dong Shik’ and had a fluent command of Yeosu dialect. In addition, he showed great harmony with other actors of the movie and surprised the mass public.
