The origin of human cruelty--where does cruelty come from?

Who created the humans then? Obviously it was god. And gods gave humans cruelty.

It's always more difficult to understand how is it possible to be brainwashed when you are looking at it from the outside.
But to the people who are under any media or propaganda influence and never knew otherwise (like children) it will just be natural to them, as much as someone was teaching them we should never kill anyone. So propaganda and media influence builds on ignorance, and that is part of every human being.
For adults, I'm sure there are people who would have disagreed, and those who disagreed aggressively would have been a victim and usually lead to an unfortunate ending. In large scaled propaganda movements, sometimes the only choice is to keep quiet or someone else will keep you quiet.
It's just unfortunate and somewhat inevitable.
