Upcoming SBS TV Mon-Tue drama ‘Jang Ok Jung, Live for Love’ is currently in the midst of filming. Earlier on, it was reported that lead actress Kim Tae Hee had made a visit to the film set with surprise gifts for the cast and production members on Valentine’s Day and drew much attention.

And on February 26th, the production team has revealed photos of the surprise meeting between Kim Tae Hee and Kang Min Ah who will play the teenage Jang Ok Jung in the drama.

Kim Tae Hee personally made her way to the film set to meet her teen actress, while Kang Min Ah couldn’t help her elation at meeting the former and showed her immense delight.

Kim Tae Hee personally handed Kang Min Ah chocolates that she had made herself, and showing special concern for her. Kim Tae Hee also kept constant watch from the start till finish of filming, showing her support for Kang Min Ah.

The production team expressed, “Both Kim Tae Hee and Kang Min Ah sport the same wisdom eyes and thick lips, and look very much alike to one another. The Jang Hee Bin in our drama will be different from the past Jang Hee Bins, as it will be more charismatic and chameleon-like.

‘Jang Ok Jung, Live for Love’ is currently filming the teen portion before moving on to the actual filming. The drama will take over from ‘Queen of Ambition’ and begin airing this April.

On March 4, the production team of “Jang Ok Jung, Live for Love” unveiled new photos of its female lead, Kim Tae Hee, busy getting into her latest character.

“Jang Ok Jung, Live for Love” will tell the story of Jang Hee Bin (Kim Tae Hee), a famous concubine in the Joseon Dynasty who was behind the deposition of King Sukjong’s (Yoo Ah In)  wife Queen In Hyun. However, unlike the countless dramas and movies about this famous villain, this drama will tell the story of Jang Ok Jung before she became concubine Jang Hee Bin and focus on her role as a fashion designer and cosmetic maker in the Joseon era.

As shown in the photos, Kim Tae Hee is busy practicing needlework with Park Sun Yi, the director of Dan Hanbok. A representative stated, “Kim Tae Hee’s passion to express the perfect Jang Ok Jung is great. While it was her first practice, she impressed everyone around her with her needlework.” 

Meanwhile, “Jang Ok Jung, Live for Love” will premiere on SBS this April.

Yoo Ah In expresses how he feels about working with Kim Tae Hee in a drama together.

March 4, Yoo Ah In finally returned to the TV screen by appearing in the SBS drama "Jang Ok Jung, Lives for Love."

During an interview with Yoo Ah In at the location of his photo shoot for his endorsement deal with Jack & Jill, he stated, "The drama 'Jang Ok Jung' will be a historical drama that contains a lot of romance."

Yoo Ah In continued, "The storyline will be very different from other dramas about Jang Ok Jung. Most dramas in the past concentrated on the issues Jang Ok Jung faced as a woman in power trying to keep her status. This drama however, will focus on the meeting of Jang Ok Jugn and Sok Jong and how their love blooms. Their love story will be featured from the beginning until the day it ends."

Yoo Ah In also spoke of his excitement working with his co-star actress Kim Tae Hee. History tells us that Sok Jong is 6 years younger than Jang Ok Jung. In reality, Kim Tae Hee is 6 years younger than Yoo Ah In as well. Yoo Ah In added, "I have heard that Kim Tae Hee is preparing a lot for this drama."

He was also very excited about his character Sok Jong. In the original drama, Sok Jong was never really portrayed as a significant character compared to Jang Hee Bin. This drama will feature the detailed role of Sok Jong. Yoo Ah In concluded that the drama will feature Sok Jogn deathly in love with Jang Ok Jung and as well as a different side of Sok Jung who leads Jang Hee Bin to death.

"leads Jang Hee Bin to death"... I wonder whether Koreans have a high tolerance for writers messing with historical figures. Sukjong certainly isn't a beloved figure in Korean history but I know that in China and Japan (especially China) people would be spitting blood at even the slightest deviation from accepted historical 'fact' (which is a whole other can of worms that I'm not going to mess with). I'm interested in seeing how far the writer will go with this concept and how the Korean public reacts to it.

Filming for upcoming SBS period drama JANG OK-JUNG, LIVE FOR LOVE, starring Kim Tae-Hee & Yoo Ah-In, recently began in Hwaseong Haenggung Palace in Suwon, South Korea. The first scene filmed involved Chae Sang-Woo, who plays the teenage version of King Sookjong (later played by Yoo Ah-In), as he jumps over a wall and out of the palace. 

Meanwhile, actress Kim Ha-Eun ("Fermentation Family"/"The Slave Hunters") is also cast in the drama series JANG OK-JUNG, LIVE. Kim Ha-Eun will play King Sookjong's first wife Queen Inkyung. 

JANG OK-JUNG, LIVE FOR LOVE airs this April in South Korea.

Kim Ha-eun is starring in the upcoming SBS drama "Jang Ok-jeong Lives in Love".

Kim Ha-eun takes on the role of Sook-jong's (Yoo Ah-in) lover, Queen In-kyeong. She is the first wife of the king before Kim Tae-hee, Hong Soo-hyeon and Han Seung-yeon.

She was maiden from a noble family but she's honest in front of love and also is the first person to takeKim Tae-hee to the palace.

Kim Ha-eun is from KBS who's starred in "God of War", "The Slave Hunters" and more.

Meanwhile, "Jang Ok-jeong Lives in Love" will be aired in April after "Yawang".

I'm really looking forwards to this drama. Beside YAI comeback, the storyline intrigues me, since JOJ is a well known evil character so I'm curious how they portray her here. And also her and the king's love story, especially knowing how her character will end It's like a train-wreck, you know it's going to be tragic but can't stop looking. It'd been a while since I watch a sageuk, this one is on my list, please be good.

The romance starting early somehow reminds me of 'Moon embracing the sun' though I didn't continue that drama after they grew up the male lead looked like a teenager to me . Either way, I don't think it's part of history, SJ didn't meet OJ when they were young right? Here hoping all the changes for the better.Btw, I know it's starting on April, but any precise date yet?
