Thanks for the clip! It seems like most of the contents had been covered by Sue from the newspaper and clip interview translations. The one thing new I noticed is the reporter asked Kim Joon whether Goo Hye Sun personally invited him to attend the gallery exhibition. Kim Joon said no, he came on his own.

Thanks beiypopo and webby. Webby, you are correct. I never knew that KJ and LMH both came on their own to support GHS. GHS is right in calling her F4 friends "really good people and good friends".

@2:13 Kim Joon and Lee Min Ho pays GHS a SURPRISE visit at the gallery. (I never knew that!) LMH is constantly asking GHS "what is that" to each of her drawings and comments that he does not know how to look at art and that her drawings are hard for him. He calls her the Artist Goo and that she draws really well. @2:23 LMH asks if that particular drawing is that of a human eye.

@2:50 The narrator talks about the LOYALTY that Kim Joon in particular shows to his friends. He attended the fan meetings for KHJ and the birthday party for LMH and now for GHS.

@3:05 Kim Joon says that GHS did not invite him to the exhibit and that he came on his own. The interviewer asks Kim Joon how come he came empty-handed to GHS’ exhibit. Kim Joon was a bit taken a back by that question and GHS jokes with him telling him to give her something quick and he just slaps her hand jokingly as well. (GHS and Kim Joon did not have many scenes together in BOF. But they seem to be getting along very comfortably, talking like friends, not using honorifics as she once said she did with Kim Joon and KHJ at the Hana Peppermint show. Kim Joon definitely shows that he is “well-mannered and loyal”, the two qualities that GHS wants in her ideal type of a man. But, of course, she also said that KHJ is very well-mannered and we all know he is very loyal to his friends. Could it possibly be one of these two men that GHS had a crush on and for whom she even went to see a tarot reader back in February of 2009???? Something to think about, huh????)

@4:38 For her future plans in terms of acting roles, she is thinking hard about whether to play another role similar to Jandi or, even if the public may hate it, a totally different type of a character.

I really wish for Hyesun to take a totally different role. After Sweet 19 and BOF, I hope she won't play another role where she has to do odd jobs because she's poor. Haha, rem how in both dramas, there were similar scenes of her taking on cleaning jobs, driving the mobile mop around.

Just a quick summary of what is happening in the above NN5 episode for GHS and LSG:

The translation will at least help you get the background for enjoying the video more. I will do all of them but not all at once.

LSG has an ice cream cf the next day and HS nags him to take her with him because she wants to eat the ice cream and because she says she is his manager. SG is not enthusiastic about taking HS who is rarely a help to him. At the CF site, the director is not that happy with SG's performance. But he sees HS naturally enjoying the ice cream and even wanting a second helping and hires her to do the CF and asks SG to play a supporting role in the CF. SG is mad as hell at HS, confirming that HS is never a help to him. She asks him if she should turn down the offer but SG agian scolds her because if she turns down the part, he cannot even be in the CF at all.

However, HS freezes on camera. SG begs the director for a day to work on HS and becomes HS's slave-driving coach, yelling at her and giving her only 3 second rest time. HS follows because she feels guilty.

The next day, SG's coaching pays off well except that now HS cannot say her lines and make her body move at the same time. SG again begs for extra time and coaches HS agains in his slave-driving manner.

The next day, HS performs really well with SG as the penguin. Now HS drives SG to total exhaustion by suggesting to the CF director to repeat the unsatisfactory parts of the CF. When they are all happy, it was SG's turn to say his lines for the CF. Unfortunately, at that instant, HS gets a serious stomach ache and has to be hospitalized for a week.

The CF director has a one week deadline to fininsh the CF and decides to use other actors. SG is again mad as hell as the director does not want to use him without HS and leaves. SG is so mad that he is trying to get HS to get out of the ved and help him finish the CF.

There are several phases to the contest all involving singing on the phone.

While HS and JW are driving to meet the rest of the group, JW expresses how unhappy he is to be caught in a game of lies and HS apologizes and try to make him feel better by saying that most likely they did not pass the fist phase of the contest anyway. But, of course, the radio station calls to say they passed the first phase and they have to sing again for the second phase. Again, JW is reluctantly pulled in but helps out. But they are caught by the police for using cell phone while driving. HS and JW still sings to the phone even while dealing with the traffic police.

HS and JW stops at a noodle shop to eat and HS agains apologizes. Then the radio station phones again and they have passed the second phase and need to sing for the third phase. A baby is crying in the background.So, the radio person asks about the crying baby. HS lies again to the horror of JW that she and her husband has a baby whose name 'woo-dong' which is noodles since HS and JS are at a noodle shop. JW reluctantly introduces himself as Woo-Dong's Dad to the radio person. They sing for the third time.

Then, they are at a hillside and HS is looking for the area where the cell phone will work to make sure she gets a call from the radio station to see if they won. She does not want to drive any more as they will enter a tunnel and lose all connection. JW is really mad and says that he will catch a cab and go back. Then the phone call comes in and HS is trying to deal with the fact that JS left. But, of course, JW returns. They win the contest and get. Both HS and JW are so happy that they are jumping up and down and falls off the steep hill. Both are in the ambulance with bruises and the radio person wants them to sing for the last time.

Thank you sooo much for the summary. I couldn't stop laughing watching this clip! HS and JS was so funny throughout the show. Love how JS was reluctantly helpless against HS's plead and help her everytime. It was even more funny that they kept passing. LOL when they fell off the hill and was still singing in the ambulance!

Seung Gi and Kang Kyung Joon make a bet with each other. Seung Gi (SG)bets that HS cannot get angry at anything and Kyung Joon (KJ) bets that he can get HS to get angry. HS initially always looks psychotically mad but quickly becomes good-natured. First, SG breaks HS’s phone while fooling around. HS’ angry look quickly turns to worry for SG if he hurt himself while fooling around. She even takes her phone to have it fixed. Second, KJ steals a bite of her ice cream to make her mad, but instead she is glad that somebody likes the same flavor that she likes and even takes KJ to buy him an ice cream. Third, KJ calls HS a name, “ddil-ddil-ee” while hitting her head with a pencil. (sorry, but don’t know what that word means). But HS says that that is her nickname from high school and does not mind the label. KJ then asks her to get him a pencil and moves out her chair so that HS falls on her bottom. She looks mad but she gets KJ to get her a book and pushes out his chair so that he falls on his bottom. She thinks it is so funny that she wants to do it again to the great frustration of KJ. Fourth, KJ wants to introduce HS to a handsome guy and then surprises her by saying that he is her date. Then KJ starts to insult HS calling her a bomb and to never go out on any type of blind dates again or to acknowledge him ourside. He finally thinks that HS is mad but she thanks him for giving her an idea for her next screen play and leaves the café happy. SG laughs.

KJ confronts HS calling her inhuman for not getting angry at anything. He tells her the truth about the bet and that he has lost his jacket, guitar, motorcycle and even his “hill” to SG. She agrees to help him with the bet to get his property back. He teaches her how to get angry. She is afraid that she might crack up in front of SG but that she will try her best.

Finally, KJ spills coffee on HS and HS gets mad as planned. SG is starting to worry that HS is really getting angry and upset. SG also tells HS the truth about making a bet on HS. Finally HS cannot hold in her laughter any longer and runs outside. Thinking that she is really mad at the bet, SG runs after HS. But HS shows her laughing face and everything is out in the open.

This episode is about SG realizing for the first time in NN5 that he has fallen for HS noona while they were accidentally stuck in the elevator together. SG does not know what to do with his feelings and deals with it by avoiding HS. It becomes obvious to HS and to others that SG is avoiding her and HS is trying to confront SG to find out why. She thinks it is because she ate her snack all by herself without sharing it with SG while they were stuck in the elevator. He denies that he is mad but still avoids her. Then, HS thinks it is because she farted inside the elevator. HS is yelling at SG to forgive her for farting while not realizing that the passers-by are staring at her spewing out her ridiculously embarrassing confession out in the street. But SG walks on.

HS is on the bus mumbling her anger at SG. Then SG feels bad, gets on the same bus and gives her his bag so that she can use it to hide her torn skirt. She tells him that she likes him a lot (she means it as a noona and dongsang) and to let go of anger at her. He says in his mind that he likes her (of course, now as a man for a woman). He says it all only in his mind confessing that he was mad only because he has fallen for her and does not know what to do about it.

This is the episode where the love triangle of HS, SG and LJ are played out in a clever way. HS is typing with only one hand because she burnt her hand while boiling eggs. SG gets upset that she is hurt and becomes sad when he finds out that she boiled eggs to make lunch for LeeJung (LJ). (I think I found out what “ddil-ddil-ee” means through this episode. It is a nickname for those who are accident-prone. SG calls HS for hurting her hand and KJ called HS in the previous episode.)

Nevertheless, SG decides to type her screen play for her if she dictates to him. Her script is acted out as the love triangle among PrincessHS, SG the Court Soldier whose role is to protect the Princess, and the Poor Musician LJ. The script of course resembles the love triangle that is developing in NN5 among the three characters. Originally HS wrote the script so that Princess HS falls for the poor musician LJ, but SG insists that her script would be more interesting if she gives a chance to make the soldier into good man that Princess HS can love. SG writes the musician into a bad man who deceives Princess HS by already having three children. Then HS gets mad at SG because she wants Princess HS to love only one man, the musician, and rewrites the musician as a good character who adopted three children orphaned by the war.

There is a funny part where the scripted characters are yelling at writers SG and HS for not being able to make up their minds about the story.

Another funny part: Princess HS wants LJ to sing for her. When they are about to kiss, writer SG says stop and Princess HS and LJ yell, WHAT NOW!

HS does not want to change what she has written and walks out. But SG changes the script without telling HS, writing LJ into a Japanese spy. SG and LJ have a dual and SG wins and HS calls SG her hero.

Thank you for the link: I summarized the interview and highlighted GHS parts that I never heard before.

4 cast members of <Pure Heart of 19> appear at a morning program before its first broadcast on May 22, 2006.

They introduce the new drama and the roles that they play.

It is a long interview and I would like to just point out few things about GHS and maybe her co-workers that I/we did not know before.

*Out of the 4 cast members present, GHS had the least number of years of acting experience at that point.

Yoon Yoo Sun (far left) is 37yo and started acting when she was 7yo. Lee Min Woo (far right) is 32yo and acted since he was 7yo. Lee Yoo Ji is same age as GHS but talked about several other dramas that she was a part.

*GHS really researched on her own for the ‘Yanbian’ accent. She befriended a woman from Yanbian and also found out that many Yanbian natives living in Korean had accents similar to those from North Korea. She also found that the accent resembled the people living in Kwong-Won Province of S. Korea and worked on combining them all and coming up with her own style.

*When GHS did the scene where she sells the soy-sauce seasoned eggs on the street, there were few traffic accidents because many people would stop to look out of curiosity.

*The female MC praised GHS a lot in the interview, saying how pretty she, etc. As we know, GHS’ drama name was Liang GookHwa and GookHwa in Korean is a chrysanthemum flower. After hearing her drama name, the female MC tells her she looks more like a rose in real person. The female MC also points out how pretty GHS is when she smiles.

*Since she has never played a married woman before, although she is 23 and could be married in real life at that age,(much laughter from the audience at this point), she is thinking about playing an awkward and young married woman so that more mature married audience will not be offended by her acting. (She is very humble and deferred to the more experienced actors around her to speak more.)

*For Lee Min Woo, this drama was the first acting job after he completed the army duty in January of that same year. He talked about the difficulty of adjusting to acting again after two years away from it. He finds it a tense experience. I guess Korean male actors have it hard in terms of putting their career on hold not knowing to what they will come back to.

*It appears that actors can very easily be typecasted in Korea. Yoon talks about how hard it is play variety of roles especially after 30. Lee Yoon Ji and Yoon also acted together before as mother and daughter in previous drama.

*Lee Minwo usually played reserved and dignified roles even in early years that his nickname in the industry was “child-elder”. He says it is because he tends to speak slowly so that he does not make mistakes and because he tends to be a quiet person. (It seems like Lee Min Woo and GHS have similar personality—quiet, shy and reserved in one respect.)

*The female MC points out that she heard that GHS is also known as “child-elder” by the staff of the drama. GHS says that although she talks more like her peers when she is with her peers, but when she is with her seniors, they would tell her that she seems like a much older person--reserved, quiet, mature??

*The female MC again points out that she heard from the drama directors and the staff that GHS can memorize her script so fast that they are all amazed by her. The female MC wants to know what GHS’ IQ is. Of course, GHS does not brag and never reveals it in the program. (I also really believe that GHS must be extremely smart, especially in the areas that relate to the right brain. It may not surprise me if her previous teacher who bought her that book on Leonardo DaVinci must have seen that much potential in her student as well.) The female MC points out that the director has said that even after looking at a new script for just 10 minutes, she has it memorized fully. It also appears that GHS can be very creative with her role. Even Yoon who met GHS for the first time at the reading was very impressed how well GHS acted out her lines after looking at her script for only a short time. Yoon also saw how creative she is with her role by saying her lines in her own style but very much fitting the character, all with the difficult Yanbian accent. Yoon thinks that is harder to do than just memorizing word for word. Yoon thinks that is how fast GHS comprehends her character. However, GHS says that she still was told not to do so many of her own lines but to stick more to the script.

*The MC states that being a daily evening drama (8 PM slot) means that the show has a big burden because the whole TV station has put that particular show as a high priority. But as we all know the drama was a hit, putting GHS on the spotlight.

*The MC states that her morning program writers wanted to find out how Lee Yoon JI keeps her figure. Lee is also very humble and says that she was very athletic growing up, especially in swimming and even entered several swim meets. She feels that sports helped her to stay fit and trim. She also loves Korean food and never eats any type of junk food or heavy types of food.

*Both Lee Min Woo and Yoon Yoo Sun usually played along older counterparts. For this drama, both actors are playing with much younger counterparts. They feel fine about it.

*The MC asks if Lee and Goo, because they are of same age, could be friends as well as rivals. Lee says, at that point, they use honorifics towards each other but hope to become better friends as time passes. She also points out that another same age actor Jo Jung Rin will be in the cast so they will be great support to each other.

the 2nd clip where hs n the guy sang for the couplesong competition had me laughing all the way. such a funny one to watch. ghs cud handle a comedian role very well. how i wish she cud take on a funny role in her future drama, but at the same time, to take on a complete opposite role of what she normally does will be a great challenge for her n a treat for us as well.

All the news on GHS are about Suh Ji Suk explaining that he and GHS are oppa and donsang only and nothing more during his appearance at the Golden Bell program. He has moved on and showed more interest in Kara and SNSD. There is no direct report about GHS that I can find. Did anybody ever find a U-tube clues about GHS leaving on August 4th for Japan at all? If not, she must have left very quietly for Japan to meet the New Age Master. I know she went to Japan because there was a Korean news on Daum (I posted few pages ago) as stated by YG associate that GHS left on 4th for Japan to work out the details for the upcoming concert on Sep 5th and becasue we all read about the fan's account of seeing GHS inside the plane. She did not want to take any pictures at that time, I believe. We don't exactly know if that fan saw her on the 4th, right? Well, I don't think GHS is in Korea because I would think the reporters probably would have wanted to interview GHS for her reaction to Suh Ji Suk's comment. Wasn't this the one that webby posted before on the 8th...according to webby she was quite confused with that date due to different GMT in different forum & countries....though the date she posted in soompi appear as the 8th, it was already the 9th Korean time...so when webby said 2 to 3 days earlier, it shud between the 4th & 7th...and according the fan's account GHS was departing from Korea to Japan...and she met her in the waiting lounge...and GHS was alone with only a female companion. Her manager KES was not with her & I assume the lady accompanying her is most likely her translator...since she's meeting Japanese ppl she sure needs a translator doesn't she? And I dun think she wud be returning so soon too...or else YG associate (who is that actually?? YG representative??) wud have posted the date of her return as well since Sue said they posted on her departure...especially so when everyone knew SS501 are in Japan right now, to avoid all unneccessary rumours

Wasn't this the one that webby posted before on the 8th...according to webby she was quite confused with that date due to different GMT in different forum & countries....though the date she posted in soompi appear as the 8th, it was already the 9th Korean time...so when webby said 2 to 3 days earlier, it shud between the 4th & 7th...and according the fan's account GHS was departing from Korea to Japan...and she met her in the waiting lounge...and GHS was alone with only a female companion. Her manager KES was not with her & I assume the lady accompanying her is most likely her translator...since she's meeting Japanese ppl she sure needs a translator doesn't she? And I dun think she wud be returning so soon too...or else YG associate (who is that actually?? YG representative??) wud have posted the date of her return as well since Sue said they posted on her departure...especially so when everyone knew SS501 are in Japan right now, to avoid all unneccessary rumours

I'm in Viet Nam and as u guys know the time zone in Viet Nam and China almost same....actually, Bejjing is an hour ahead. That fan said in the acc that she was on the way back to Shanghai from Korea...i'm sure she posted at 11:43 PM (China time) on 7th August....yes, she met HS in the waiting lounge , this makes me confused ...Sue said HS left on 4th, right?...Ok, just wait until Sue find more info in cafe daum

Yeah...the time zone is quite confusing..haha...I shud have focus more in class before, when studying geography or was it maths??!!...Anyway...then again, I wonder why GHS refused to have her picture taken with this Shanghai fan? To avoid any visual evidence, perhaps...cos if that's the case...just like we are now, even if her company said on the 4th, but the fans said on the 7th or at least on the 6th nite, here we are still wondering when exactly this fan meet her...Since she was in the waiting lounge, at least we can be sure she's waiting for sumthing, most likely her flight...If she just arrived from Japan why wud she be in the waiting lounge??!!! So long there's no picture evidence, it'll always be a 'heresay'...the fans words against her mgt associate???!!!
