I noticed a lot of folks in Soompi are using sendspace for uploading. So I tried it. Wow, it's amazingly fast!!

I heard you can put these broken pieces together by using software.

Our Jang Hyuk appears in the second half of Ep2. Plus you will have a chance to see little Jang Geun Seok as the role of Siyoung (Han Jae Seok). hehe...

Wils: wow...you are so very kind...how efficient you are...i note that you have already uploaded through episode 5..thank you so much. i have been able to download all episodes so far without any problem through sendspace, except for part 3 of episode 2. there seems to be a problem. the link shows up but then on the bottom where the download link sits, this

message appears: "The file is not currently available. Our support staff have been notified and we hope to resolve the problem shortly. Please try again later". hopefully they are trying to fix the problem but i dunno cause i received the message all of yesterday, the 29th and again today, the 30th. i don't know if uploading that episode again would work

but it might be a lot more work for you and you are already so busy kindly uploading the other episodes...will continue to check sendspace to see if they are truly working on the problem for that link. i truly cannot thank you enough..even tho there are no english subtitles it means the world to me to have this drama to keep and view.

it truly is an underrated drama.

Wils..F.Y.I, I inquired at Sendspace regarding their attempt to repair the download link for episode 2, part 3 and they advised the easiest way to handle the damaged link is for you to upload again as it sometimes takes several days if they are able to repair it...really, really appreciate all that you are doing for all of us . If you cannot understand spoken korean, it might be a bit hard for you to follow the storylines. I hope Dae Mang DVD with English subtitles will be released in the short future. I found the DVD of <The Earth of Wang Reung>(SBS, 2000) starring Jang Hyuk and So Ji Sub released last year at yesasia.com. So there is a high hope for the DM DVD release.

Wils: you are very welcome...but it is you that should be thanked again and again for the Daemang uploads that is surely keeping you busy and now for more awsome photos of JH...just simply GORGEOUS! Thanks also for the info regarding Wang Reung, unfortunately, Global Yesasia will not ship to the U.S..boohoo! Global Yesasia also has the Korean version of Please Teach Me English, which I want to purchase so badly but they won't ship to U.S.A.~~sigh. For those in North America, Yesasia NorthAmerica is taking preorders for another older Jang Hyuk drama, with Cha Tae Hyun...Into the Sunlight. Release date for this drama is 4/29/08. So, yes, Wils you are correct, there is always hope that Daemang may be released with English subtitles someday.

O-cha: I too think JH and Jang Na ra were adorable together in SSBG. I wish they would do a sequel with both of them playing the leads again. That drama had everything in it, I cried, laughed, got angry, etc, etc...just like Robbers but Robbers takes the cake in all categories!! Wouldn't it be awesome if Jang Hyuk and So Ji Sub would get together in a drama..OMGSH..that would be so awesome. Those two have such great acting depth that we'd all faint watching them together. Wish SJS would find a good project soon...it's been too long..he needs to surface! Let's hope JH will also start another drama soon...but he is probably busy with preparations for his June wedding ceremony.

I have wanted to watch Daemang for sooooo long. Into the Sunlight was one of the first kdramas I watched - on VHS, without subtitles.

Model was also one of my first, so Han Jae Suk, Jang Hyuk, and Jo Hyun Jae......what more could you ask for?

Sorta random observation.... I was watching the movie The Restless last night and I thought that Jung Woo Sung looks a lot like Jang Hyuk in some shots. Am I the only one who thinks that way? JWS doesn't have Hyuk's eye expression by any means but they sorta look a bit alike.

Seoulite5, you're welcome. I think Jang Hyuk has a very interesting look. We cannot get the very essence of beauty from his appreance right away. I still remember when I saw him first from the newspaper. By then he was already a popular guy, but I didn't get the point why he was that popular. But when I saw his performance in Dae Mang, I figured out why people were attracted to him. Then I looked carefully at his pics and found he looked so different across pictures. Sometimes the figures in different pictures didn't look like the same guy. That rarely happens to the hansome guys like Jang Dong Gun, Song Seoung Hun, So Ji Sub, Won Bin etc. These guys have a very strong typical image of handsome men. I think Hyun Bin is closest to Jang Hyuk in that respect. This point has good and bad things together. Maybe people don't recognize his beauty easily, but since there is no dominant image from his look, it may be a bit easier for him to be versatile in appearance (he is also versatile in acting). He doesn't usually look the same for each role he does. Of course, this is just my thought...hehe...

Anyway, I love Please teach me English too. The movie is a hilarious and touching drama. Have you noticed the movie has been used as a reference to cultural/linguistic imperialism in U.S. colleges?

hjkomo, glad to see you join the ride to Dae Mang. Dae Mang is definitely a must-to-see to you! Yes, the writer wrote Sandglass, Green Rose starring Lee Da Hae and Go Soo, KAIST starring Chae Rim, etc. Because I loved Dae Mang so much, i had looked forward to seeing TWSSG so much. But to my disappointment, the drama didn't seem going right. Seems to me the director did not maintain the writer's intent embedded in scripts, though they have beee long paired with. Whatever reasons behind the scene, I hope the writer won't work with the director any longer.

Jung Woo Sung? It's the goatee. I don't really think they look alike, but I can see how some people would, especially the way JH looks now (as opposed to when he was younger) - with the scruffy look & minus the 'baby' fat.

QUESTION: Did Jang Hyuk ever have braces? I remember him in Into The Sunlight, and he had a really big overbite (something that really stood out for me in that drama). I guess it could just the way he's aged (and the mustache sort of hides his mouth), but I could have sworn he had a bigger overbite. Dunno.

Bad Family's a cute drama...it was really really funny in the beginning then it became more serious later on but overall a good series. And yes like hjkomo said we are watching 3 Dads 1 Mom right now...so far it's pretty cute and tons of eye candy

I don't recall ever seeing him in braces. I think he still has a big overbite..it's just that he keeps his mouth closed when he's not saying his dialogues nowadays...whereas before in the older dramas sometimes he left his mouth open? Ahhh...I don't know..heehehe.

Brooding, tortured young man = Jang Hyuk...well except his character now is just brooding, tortured man ...not that young anymore . I wish one day he'd do another role with Cha Tae Hyun..they are such good friends that I'd be curious to see them perform together again.

　그는 "그동안 액션영화에서 봤거나 알고있던 무술과는 확연히 다르더라. 상대방으로부터 공격을 당하면 의외의 곳을 공격해 제압한다"며 "무술 연기가 필요한 작품에 들어가려고 준비중일 때 잠시 장혁씨와 관장님께 배웠었는데 작품이 엎어졌다. 평상시 사용할 수 있을 만큼은 못 배웠지만 절권도는 꾸준히 하면 몸에도 좋고 정신력에도 좋은 것 같다"고 말했다.

I think it basically said that Park Soo Jin (ex member of Sugar--now an actress) has been learning Jeol Kwon Do (Jeet Kune Do) from Jang Hyuk. She is in the same company (Sidus) as Jang Hyuk and that's how she got to learn Jeet Kune Do from him.

As for the overbite, actually I did not recognize it when I watched Into the Sunlight last year...I am pretty bad at that sort of thing....I read somewhere JH lost some teeth due to an accident during his high school days and he had dentistry done again around the time Into the Sunlight was shoot. I guess the overbite, if any,might have much to do with that...

hjkomo : Please Teach Me English is funny...and a bit silly... but still entertaining I think. Just don't come in expecting a masterpiece and you'll be entertained. The movie doesn't take itself seriously so we should do the same...hehehe. I had quite a bit of a laugh watching that movie.

I think it's worth watching. I thought Jang Hyuk did a good job there and as always he had pretty good chemistry with his screen partner...and Lee Na Young did a good job too.

As for Windstruck...hmm...I'm just okay with that movie but I know a lot of people really like it. Jang Hyuk plays a very different character here... I don't think his character there was the best fit for him at that time (maybe current Jang Hyuk could pull it off but the Jang Hyuk then..not so much) but I'm still glad that he dared to take a very different role in that movie.

wils: Well....DOTD is a Singapore production so there'll be more fanfare there. As for DOTD playing in Korea...at this moment I am just hoping that it will be played in Korea *crossing my fingers*.

(the pout is noticeable in most the above Daemang photos, but especially in photos #2, #4 and #11) If it is cause of the overbite, I hope he never fixes it cause I absolutely love his mouth!! And, Wils, I agree with you, his awesome good looks is not something that jumps out at you...you look at him first as probably ordinary and then he slowly connects and moves into your heart because with each expression, each movement, his beauty changes and grows...then his good looks will become apparent and you are hooked!!! And I think it's what makes him such a great and talented actor. He never looks the same twice and that is a good thing for an actor.

The first time I saw him I thought yeah he's pretty good looking...but nothing more...the more I watch him act the more beautiful he becomes...

His eyes are always so soulful... they can be very gentle in one scene and very intense in another. He can definitely make my heart beats faster with the look of his eyes... hehehe...ok..don't tell my hubby about that... lol.
