Red 2 Trailer Features Bruce Willis and Noisy Trunk
Source: The HDRoom
"It's important to enjoy life while you still can," Helen Mirren casually recommends to Bruce Willis in the first trailer for Summit Entertainment's Red 2. Most of the old gang is back for more senior citizen action and brought some new old faces along for the ride. And why not considering the first was released with no expectations and went on to earn over $90 million at the domestic box office.
Frank Moses (Bruce Willis) is now retired and trying to live out a normal killing-free like with his wife (Mary-Louise Parker). He gets dragged back into the game by crazy Marvin Boggs (John Malkovich) and soon crosses paths once again with Victoria (Helen Mirren). Together they must track down a missing portable nuclear device before it falls into the wrong hands.
Joining the old gang are eternally youthful Catherine Zeta-Jones, Father Odin himself Anthony Hopkins, and the man known as Storm Shadow in geek culture, Byung-hun Lee.
It looks like Red 2 will follow the first film's formula of mixing humor, action and pokes at old age. That's about all that anyone expects from it. Well, that and John Malkovich doing something completely off the wall insane.
Dean Parisot's Red 2 arrives in theaters to help wrap up the summer movie season on August 2, 2013.

John Malkovich Drags Bruce Willis Into Trouble in First 'Red 2' Trailer
ACESHOWBIZ
Malkovich convinces retired Willis to embark on another dangerous mission to track down a missing portable nuclear device.

John Malkovich drags Bruce Willis back into trouble in the first trailer for "Red 2". Malkovich bumps into Willis at a supermarket and tells the latter to embark on another dangerous mission. Reluctant to take the offer, Willis says, "I'm retired, ok. I'm happy." Trying to convince his old partner in crime, Malkovich says, "You haven't killed anybody in months."
The rest of the promo video is filled with scenes of the duo getting ruthless in some countries. Humorous scenes are also shown in between the high-octane sequences. At one point, Willis and Malkovich are seen in a car with Mary-Louise Parker, listening to old music. Things get awkward when they hear someone screaming in the trunk, but pretend as if nothing happens.
The sequel to 2010's "Red" sees retired black-ops CIA agent Frank Moses (Willis) reuniting with his unlikely team of elite operatives for a global quest to track down a missing portable nuclear device. To succeed, they'll need to survive an army of relentless assassins, ruthless terrorists and power-crazed government officials, all eager to get their hands on the next-generation weapon.
The mission takes Frank and his motley crew to Paris, London and Moscow. Outgunned and outmanned, they have only their cunning wits, their old-school skills, and each other to rely on as they try to save the world-and stay alive in the process.
"Red 2" also stars Catherine Zeta-Jones, Lee Byung-hun, David Thewlis and Neal McDonough. The action comedy film also reunites "Hitchcock" co-stars Anthony Hopkins and Helen Mirren. Directed by Dean Parisot, it will grace the U.S. cinemas on August 2.

‘Red 2′ Teaser Trailer Shows That More of the Same Doesn’t Have to Be a Bad Thing
By Rob Hunter Film School Rejects
2010′s Red was a fun action romp that featured both the expected in Bruce Willis and the unexpected in a hilarious John Malkovich and a gun-toting Helen Mirren. The $58 million comic adaptation grossed $200 million world-wide, and Summit happily moved forward on green-lighting a sequel.
Most of the surviving cast members are returning alongside screenwriters Erich and Jon Hoeber, but director Robert Schwentke is not. Dean Parisot is taking his place, and while his name may not be recognizable maybe you’ve heard of a little, near perfect gem called Galaxy Quest? Yeah, he made that one.
Mary-Louise Parker is so damn cute in that Costco.
The story looks fairly similar with government agents trying to kill Frank Moses (Willis) again, but at least this time he gets to take the action international. Mirren, Malkovich and Parker rejoin the fun alongside newcomers Anthony Hopkins, Catherine Zeta-Jones, Lee Byung-hun and David Thewlis.
The cast is great, but I’m especially happy to see Lee getting more American film work. Sure (and unsuprisingly) he’s playing the bad guy, but if Jet Li’s appearance in the otherwise abysmal Lethal Weapon 4 taught us anything it’s that playing the villain in an action/comedy sequel is a guaranteed door-opener to romantic leading men roles.
But seriously. Where are the Asian leading men in Hollywood?
Red 2 hits theaters August 2nd.

'Red 2' Trailer: Old People Are Shooting Things Again
Source: IWatchStuff
Once again retired and ever too old for this richard simmons, Bruce Willis nonetheless gets called back into the action of shooting guns in Red 2, as well as in every other Bruce Willis movie coming out this year. John Malkovich, Mary-Louise Parker, Helen Mirren, and Brian Cox also return for the sequel, and now there's also Anthony Hopkins making up for the lost dignity of Morgan Freeman, Willis's G.I. Joe co-star Lee Byung-Hun filling in for the youthful intensity of Karl Urban, and Catherine Zeta-Jones doing her best to muster a fraction of the aggressive sexuality of Richard Dreyfuss.
This first trailer doesn't waste a lot of time getting to the denture and boner gags, but like with the first Red, somehow it all ends up being a little better than you'd think: the dentures reference is pretty subtle, and the old-guy-boner joke doesn't even make reference to Viagra. In the suddenly-flourishing world of aged comedies, that is a pretty classy move.

'Red 2' trailer released: Bruce Willis' Frank Moses kisses retired life good bye — then kisses Catherine Zeta Jones
Sequel to 2010 hit returns Willis, Helen Mirren, Mary Louise Parker and John Malkovich in another go-around as aging hitmen (and women)
BY ETHAN SACKS / NEW YORK DAILY NEWS
It's hard enough to be able to afford retirement for anyone in this day and age.
For Bruce Willis’ retired assassin Frank Moses in “Red 2” it seems down right impossible judging from the first teaser trailer for the sequel to the surprise 2010 hit.
The 1 minute, 50-second trailer opens up in a Costco like megastore of all places, with a relucatant Moses’s shopping being interrupted by John Malkovich’s loopy hitman, Marvin.
“"I'm retired. I'm happy, we're happy,” Moses pleads.
“You haven't killed anyone in months,” retorts Marvin.
“That's a positive thing,” says Moses.
Of course, that killing slump doesn’t look to last long. Cue the bullets, explosions and car chases after a phone call from fellow AARP pinup Helen Mirren’s mysterious Victoria warning our hero that she’s been offered a contract by MI:6 to snuff him out.
“It's important to enjoy life while you still can,” she says, disposing of a dead body in a bathtub with bleach as she speaks on the phone.
In addition to returnees Willis, Malkovich, Mirren and Mary Louise-Parker, “Red 2” has reloaded with some new faces. Mirren’s “Hitchcock” co-star, Anthony Hopkins shows up in the trailer with a “Silence of the Lambs”-inspired cameo and Korean action star Byung-hun Lee leaves his footprint on Willis’ chest.
But the trailer is stolen by Catherine Zeta-Jones’ femme fatale, who walks up to Moses and plants a long kiss in front of his current girlfriend.
“How are things,” asks Zeta Jones’ character after the awkward kiss.
“Yeah, Frank how are things,” retorts Parker’s Sarah.
“Red 2” — very loosely based on the graphic novel by Warren Ellis and directed by “Galaxy Quest’s” Dean Parisot — hits theaters on August 2.

RED 2 Trailer Makes Explosive Debut
By Joseph Baxter G4tv.com
The debut trailer for this summer's aging action romp, RED 2 has arrived.
It certainly appears that circumstances have caused the wizards of wetwork we met in RED to once again un-retire themselves. This time, the mellow life that Frank Moses (Bruce Willis) made with his significant other, Sarah (Mary-Louise Parker) will go up in a glorious nitroglycerin blaze. The former CIA black-ops badass has somehow found himself a high level target by MI6, sending former friend, Victoria (Helen Mirren) on his tail to do her duty and make his retirement REALLY permanent.
With the help of his insane killer colleague, Marvin (John Malkovich), Frank and Sarah are on the run from not only Victoria, but another mysteriously-deadly assassin. (Byung-hun Lee, better known as Storm Shadow from the G.I. Joe films.) However, while looking to find out who wrecked their lives, it seems that their home might also stand to be wrecked when Frank's ex-flame, Miranda (Catherine Zeta-Jones) steps into the picture.
David Thewlis (Remus from the Harry Potter films), Neal McDonough, and the great Anthony Hopkins fill the cast.

GAH, I didn't know Mr Lee was going to have such a prominent role in this. I haven't seen the first one but I will be sure to check it out before seeing this one.

Those pictures of Lee and Bruce Willis together made me insanley happy. Two of my most favourite actors in the same shot, looking like they're getting on so well, lovely! :D

Love Hopkins, Malkovich and Mirren too so I'm looking forward to this one!

TRAILER TRASHIN’: EVERYONE OLD IS COOL AGAIN IN RED
Written by Timothy Monforton Cinemanerdz   Red-2_zps0d3c3fed.jpg
We’re definitely in the early-year doldrums now, with guilty pleasures being the most we can usually expect from our new movies. On the plus side, there are still some good trailers coming out. This week’s Trailer Trashin’ takes a look at the teaser for the action-comedy sequel RED 2.
Premise: Retired CIA officer Frank Moses (Bruce Willis) and his motley crew of friends use their old-school methods to face new enemies across Europe.
My take: The action-comedy RED (2010) was an unexpected pleasant surprise when it came out a few years ago. It took what could have been a one-note joke of a concept – elderly spies having to come out of retirement – and turned it into a fun, entertaining movie. And thanks to the film’s financial success and positive critical reception, it’s gotten a sequel, something that not very many adaptations of obscure comic books can say. The first teaser for RED 2 has arrived, and it looks like a worthy follow-up.
One of the biggest factors in why RED worked so well was the excellent cast, and fortunately, most of the key players are back again. Returning for the sequel are Bruce Willis as Frank Moses, John Malkovich as Marvin Boggs, Mary-Louise Parker as Sarah Ross, Helen Mirren as Victoria, and (not seen here) Brian Cox as Ivan Simanov, and they all seem to have comfortably slipped back into their roles. There are also plenty of new faces. Catherine Zeta-Jones plays Miranda Wood, who seems to be an old flame of Frank’s. Lee Byung-hun, probably best known stateside as Storm Shadow in G.I. Joe: The Rise of Cobra (2009), plays a yet-unnamed villain. We briefly see the great Anthony Hopkins as Edward Bradley, who is supposed to be another villain. Not seen here are Neal McDonough as another yet-unnamed character, and David Thewlis as an information dealer nicknamed “The Frog.”
The main behind-the-camera talent also gives me reason for optimism. Jon and Erich Hoeber, the duo who wrote the first film, have both returned to pen the sequel. Taking over the directing duties this time is Dean Parisot, who is probably best known for helming the cult sci-fi comedy Galaxy Quest (1999). Parisot seems like the ideal director for this mixture of comedy with another genre, and I think he’ll do good work here.
The action also looks quite good so far. We’ve got multiple fistfights, including one between Willis and Lee inside what looks like an airplane hangar. There are several car chases, in a variety of locations. My favorite bit so far is the scene of Lee tearing up parked cars with a Gatling gun. And since this is just the teaser trailer, I’m sure there’s plenty they haven’t shown us yet.
Overall, I’m happy with what I see here. So far, it looks like the filmmakers have managed to recapture the same tone and the mix of action and comedy that made the first movie so much fun. As long as they can maintain that tone, I think we could have a very good sequel on our hands. When the beginning of August rolls around, I will certainly be checking out RED 2 at my local theater.
ANTICIPATION: I’d definitely shell out some “green” to see it.
Release Date: August 2nd, 2013

Malkovich: Red 2 filming was fun
Source: Belfast Telegraph
John Malkovich has praised the "fantastic additions" to the cast of Red 2.
The veteran actor reunited with Bruce Willis, Helen Mirren and Mary-Louise Parker for the sequel to the 2010 film, which finished shooting in December.
But Red 2 also sees the likes of Catherine Zeta-Jones, Sir Anthony Hopkins and David Thewlis joining the franchise.
"It was a lot of fun, some of the same cast and a lot of fantastic additions to the cast this time," Malkovich explained.
He described filming as "great fun", adding: "I had a great time, most of my time is spent with Bruce Willis and Mary-Louise Parker - we get on very well."
The 59-year-old will next be seen in zombie romance Warm Bodies, alongside Nicholas Hoult and Australian actress Teresa Palmer.

THE RED 2 RELEASE HAS BEEN MOVED UP TO JULY!!!
WRITTEN BY ASHLEY BURNS FilmDrunk.com ++
red2_july19.jpg

“And you’re not coming back, Richard Dreyfus, because you were shot in the head.”
Some unnamed people around here like to make fun of a movie like RED, because it featured an ensemble cast of older actors as former CIA agents and international spies, and that’s just goofy because Viagra jokes and broken hips, LOL! So forgive me if I’m a little more enthusiastic than a certain someone else today, because RED, which starred Bruce Willis and John Malkovich as retired CIA killers, is one of my favorite movies of the past few years, and I will stop whatever I’m doing and watch it whenever it’s on cable.
So when the trailer for RED 2 was released in January, I was extra excited, because Anthony Hopkins is joining the crew of old farts, and it allowed me to wonder if they’re going to bring back Brian Cox as Ivan Simonov (he’s not listed on the sequel’s cast) and maybe use some suspended disbelief to tell us that Morgan Freeman didn’t really die.
Well, good news for me, because Summit Entertainment is moving up RED 2’s release date from August 2 to July 19 because I’ve been a good boy this year.
RED 2 is Dean Perisot’s first feature since 2005’s Fun With richard simmons and Jane, and follows the first film’s characters as they punch and shoot their way through a globetrotting rogue’s gallery of terrorists, assassins and government officials to find a missing portable nuclear device. For its new date, RED 2will be put up against stiffer competition in Dreamworks Aniimation’s Turbo, James Wan’s The Conjuring and Robert Schwentke’s comic book adaptation R.I.P.D. (Via Cinema Blend)
So basically it’s going up against RIPD, because the little kids going to see Turbo aren’t going to see RED 2. Unless they’re awesome, that is.

Lee Byung Hun Lobbied Producer with Wine to Get His “Red 2" Role
lee23j soompi.com
1363677717_483913.jpg

On the most recent episode of SBS “Healing Camp,” Lee Byung Hun appeared as the guest and talked about his advancement to Hollywood. MC Lee Kyung Gyu inquired whether there was lobbying involved in casting in Hollywood and Lee Byung Hun answered honestly, “I don’t know about other people, but I did a little bit of lobbying.”
He explained, “One of ‘G.I.Joe: The Rise of Cobra‘s producers Lorenzo di Bonaventura is the producer of ‘Red 2.’ When I asked how ‘Red 2′ was going, he told me that they are considering me as a prospect. So I became hopeful, but I soon found out that there are total of four Asian actors on the list that they are choosing from. The list included Jackie Chan, Jet Li, and Yun-Fat Chow. I had almost given up on my hopes of being a part of ‘Red 2′ at that point.”
However, the opportunity presented itself to Lee Byung Hun and he knew he had to do something. He said, “Lorenzo told me to be patient because he is rooting for me. So I invited him to dinner and prepared a really nice, luxurious bottle of wine. I gave the bottle to him and asked if he knew what kind of wine it is. He knew the name of the wine, of course. But I asked him again, expecting a different answer. When he seemed a little confused, I told him that it’s ‘RED wine.’ He then realized my joke and started laughing.”
He lobbied Lorenze di Bonaventura with his wit, using a bottle of red wine to be casted for “Red 2.” In the end, he successfully won the part and is now working on “Red 2″ with other big-named Hollywood stars.
The first “Red” was released in 2010 and was an action comedy movie. It featured major Hollywood actors such as Bruce Willis, John Malkovich, Catherine Zeta-Jones Helen Mirren and more.

Producer Lorenzo di Bonaventura Talks RED 2; "It's Really Fun, It's Really Good"
Wesley Gibson ComicBookMovie.com
best-never-rest-1.jpgDuring an interview with Collider on the new Tom Clancy thriller Jack Ryan, Producer di Bonaventura took some time to discuss Red 2 and his thoughts behind the cast of the upcoming film, as well as a few other issues. Check it out!
While speaking to the folks over at Collider, producer Lorenzo di Bonaventura commented on the recent news of the upcoming film's new release date. "Always a good sign, I guess. But we haven’t previewed it to an audience yet, so until an audience votes, you know—as a filmmaker I think it’s really hard to tell you, “Wow, it’s the best movie I’ve ever made!” di Bonaventura also commented more on the film's cast and how he feels that the comedy is better in the second installment:
It’s really fun, it’s really good. I think the best measure of it is that all the cast members that we added—Byung Hun, Catherine Zeta Jones, Anthony Hopkins, David Thewlis—we added some really great actors and they really killed it. So I think we made, I say “a richer broth.” And Dean has a great sense of comedy and there’s just some laugh-out-loud funny stuff in it. I really love it, but you never know what it’s gonna feel like until you show it to an audience, which is next week.
RED 2 stars Bruce Willis, John Malkovich, Mary-Louise Parker, Catherine Zeta-Jones, Lee Byung-hun, Anthony Hopkins and Helen Mirren and is set to blast into theaters July 19th, 2013.
