Boys and their toys!
Bruce Willis wields a gun and gets ready for a car chase as he continues filming action sequel RED 2
By KIRSTY MCCORMACK Mail Online

Earlier on in the week he was spotted filming romantic scenes, but come Friday it was all about the action for Bruce Willis. The 57-year-old actor was spotted wielding a gun and getting physical with a co-star as he continued filming RED 2 in Paris. The father-of-four was once again joined by Catherine Zeta-Jones and David Thewlis as he took on the role of Frank Moses.

The 49-year-old actor was seen with a big red graze on his face, which was later seen being touched up by a member of the crew while Catherine also had her make-up seen to. It is unknown what role the mother-of-two is taking on in the upcoming movie, but she didn't star in the first film, RED. One female who was in the original and has returned for the sequel is actress Mary-Louise Parker.

Elsewhere Mary-Louise Parker and John Malkovich were filming their own scenes for the upcoming movie

The brunette, who plays Sarah Ross, was seen filming her own car scenes with co-star John Malkovich. Mary-Louise was seen sat inside an old-fashioned vehicle, but although the film will make it appear that she was driving it, she was in fact given a helping hand from a male who was sat in front of the car with his own steering wheel. The 48-year-old wore a light grey belted mac coat,  with black leggings and matching boots, and in between takes she could be seen relaxing in her very own chair as she chatted with members of the film crew.

Now you see it, now you don't: When she wasn't in front of the camera, Catherine wore a puffy winter coat to keep warm

Back in October 2011, Summit Entertainment announced that RED 2 will be released on August 2, 2013 and that the film 'will reunite the team of retired CIA operatives with some new friends as they use their "old-school style" to take on new enemies in Europe.' Bruce has spoken out recently about his concerns that his action-packed acting will have a negative impact on his health. 'The risk is more … I guess it's a personal challenge,' he explained to the Huffington Post.

In action: John Malkovich was also seen on the movie set in Paris

'There are gaps of time between each movie. It's a kind of ageist tryptic: "Oh, OK, now I'm this age", and trying to tell that action movie, Die Hard theme, but I'm a little older.' 'I think to myself: "How fast can I run? How well can I fight?" So that's a challenge.' 'There's a story, if you look at all of them from the first film to the one we just did. And you see me age over these films, that has its own interest to me.'

RED 2 Producer Shares New Details About The Film
In an interview with Collider, Hollywood producer Lorenzo di Bonaventura discusses Red 2, Frank's (Bruce Willis) new emotional obstacle and how much time has passed from the last film.
By nailbiter111 ComicBookMovie.com
red2banner969.jpg
Lorenzo di Bonaventura, producer of the Red sequel recently chatted with Collider about the upcoming film, that has been filming all across the globe. The original took place in the United States, but the sequel will have an international flair. "In Red 2 we go to Paris, we go to Moscow, we go to London," Lorenzo told the site. "We do some United States, Washington DC and a few other places as well, but it’s really sort of an international road trip movie."
Surprisingly, the plot for the film has been shrouded in mystery. Outside of knowing a few brief details about the new additions (Anthony Hopkins, Catherine Zeta-Jones, Byung-hun Lee, and David Thewlis) to the cast, we haven't had much else. Until now we didn't even know how where the first film ended and the second one begins. "Six, nine months has transpired between the first film and the second film," Lorenzo explained. "The logic of it was, the first movie we looked at Frank, Bruce Willis’s character, the story of a guy who is desperately trying to fit in to a world of retirement that he just doesn’t really belong in, right? It just doesn’t come naturally to him; he doesn’t really know how to do it, of course then the Mary-Louise Parker character comes into his life. So in this movie we thought what would be really fun is to see a guy who doesn’t really know how to have a relationship, let’s see what would happen."
Perhaps the most important new addition is the director, Dean Parisot. He is replacing Robert Schwentke (R.I.P.D.), but Bonaventura doesn't think Parisot's film will depart from the tone of the original. "What we describe as tone for that movie is all the characters are playing it very straight while outrageous, fun richard simmons is going on. So we are maintaining that tone," Lorenzo points out. "Dean has a different sense of humor than Robert so there’s certain kinds of things that are a different funny, you know, different kinds of actions are happening. So it will be a different movie and it will be a new experience for everybody, but also our hope that we retain the thing that everybody digs about it because that’s what we dug about it too."
And Parisot has been making quite a name for himself, winning people over with his directing skills on FX's Justified, and of course his hilarious Star Trek parody, Galaxy Quest. Which Lorenzo goes out of his way to say was a major influence on his decision to pursue Dean for Red 2. "We looked at that movie—it was interesting, when we were talking to directors about the first one, Robert came in and articulated the tone we were going for even though we probably could have articulated it as well, but we kind of instinctually knew what we were trying to get. But, Robert immediately articulated it. Galaxy Quest is a very similar tone so, you know, we knew."

First Official Still from 'RED 2' with Bruce Willis, John Malkovich and Mary-Louise Parker
by Cameron Arruda Durance
20121213_1_zps422c10bf.jpg

Among the sequels coming next year based on comic book properties, perhaps the most grounded is RED 2. After the first film managed to quadruple its budget, our team of retired operative are back with a new face of characters as the story goes international. Now, we get a small glimpse at what’s to come, explosions and all, in the first official photo from the continuation.
Plot details for the sequel are currently slim, with Anthony Hopkins playing a central antagonist while it’s likely there will be a reason for Morgan Freeman’s absence. The action will be headed to Europe this time around, with the same typical hijinks ensuing that made the original a hit.
Starring Bruce Willis, John Malkovich, Helen Mirren, Mary Louise-Parker, Catherine Zeta-Jones, Lee Byung-hun, Anthony Hopkins, and Neal McDonough, RED 2 hits theaters on August 2nd, 2013.

Official 'RED 2' Image Confirms the Film's Irreverent Tone
by Kyle Hembree ScreenRant
One of the more curious surprises of the last few years, 2010′s RED was an extremely loose adaptation of the Warren Ellis/Cully Hamner graphic novel. Whereas the source comic book was an ultraviolent descent into nihilistic despair, the movie took a more tongue-in-cheek approach to the story of an ex-CIA assassin marked for disposal by his own organization. The film ended up grossing $186 million worldwide and gained decent (though often not exuberant) marks from critics.
As is the wont of nearly every movie that performs beyond expectations, RED was placed on the fast-track to a sequel. RED 2 is on a steady road to its late-summer 2013 release; recently, the first photograph of the production was released to the public. What can we glean from this image of the jaunty action film?
Entertainment Weekly has published the first promotional image for RED 2. Showing off the swaggering trio of Bruce Willis (G.I. Joe: Retaliation), Mary-Louise Parker (Weeds), and John Malkovich (Warm Bodies), the photograph serves to remind us of the freewheeling, comedic tone of the original film.
That comedic tone is achieved through the actors’ dissonant costuming – there’s a heavy disconnect between the obnoxious, almost teenage fashions, the actors’ ages, and the gritty action set behind them. Something about the image of Malkovich in clothing fit for a skate-punk (while the requisite background explosion is casually ignored) is inherently amusing. As ever, Willis appears to be having quite a bit of fun on-set.
Like its predecessor, RED 2 sports a rather impressive cast. In addition to Willis, Parker, and Malkovich, Dame Helen Mirren (The Queen) will return to the role of a septuagenarian with a taste for heavy machine guns. While the movie has lost the services of Brian Cox (Rise of the Planet of the Apes), Morgan Freeman (Oblivion), and Karl Urban (Star Trek: Into Darkness), the production has brought in some impressive new blood with Anthony Hopkins (Hitchcock), Catherine Zeta-Jones (Rock of Ages), David Thewlis (the Harry Potter films), and Byung-hun Lee (The Good, the Bad, and the Weird).
While it’s only a single frame from the production, this RED 2 promotional image is fairly heartening. The original film worked best when it combined over-the-top action and a sense of humor that bordered on the cartoonish.
According to previous production reports, the film will break almost completely with its grim source material (which the original almost did, anyway) and focus more on swashbuckling adventure. If the EW photo is any indication, those adventures will come with quite a bit of visual whimsy.
RED 2 will exit retirement and enter theaters on August 2, 2013.

'Red 2' Debuts First Images From New Movie
by Terri Schwartz MTV
The main characters in "Red 2" might have some major violations with the fashion police, but at least they're back and fighting fit. The first image from the upcoming movie has been released, and it shows Bruce Willis, John Malkovich and Mary-Louise Parker walking away from a dangerous situation. Their outfits are nothing to write home about, but their nonchalant attitude certainly is.
''All of those great Bond and Bourne movies you've seen, we go into that world and have those kind of set pieces. It's just our characters that are completely ludicrous,'' director Dean Parisot told Entertainment Weekly.
Noticeably missing from this line-up is leading lady Helen Mirren, but Parisot said that omission is not indicative of the film itself. According to EW, the Oscar-winning actress could "steal the show again."
''She is genius and unbelievably sexy -- and somehow unbelievably macho," Parisot explained.
While "Red 2" brings back the original film's cast, it also welcomes Anthony Hopkins. Mirren already worked opposite him in "Hitchcock," and she praised her two-time costar for his acting talents during a recent interview with MTV News.
"Hopefully it will be another fun ride," she said of the sequel.
"Red 2" is set to hit theaters on August 2, 2013.
