Sean Bean 'arrested on suspicion of harassing ex-wife'

Sean Bean has been questioned on suspicion of harassing his ex-wife.

The Lord of the Rings and Game of Thrones actor attended Holborn police station in London yesterday (May 9) by pre-arranged appointment, reports The Mirror.

Bean reportedly had fingerprints and DNA taken and was questioned over allegations that he harassed ex-wife Georgina Sutcliffe via phone calls and text messages. He has since been released on bail while the investigation continues.

A spokesperson for Scotland Yard confirmed said in a statement: "I can confirm a man was arrested on suspicion of harassment yesterday and bailed until a later date."

Bean and Sutcliffe married in a small ceremony at Marylebone Registry Office in London in February 2008.

The former couple separated in August 2010 and were officially divorced later that year, citing irreconcilable differences.

Bean's spokesperson has not made comment, while a spokesperson for Sutcliffe, who is currently appearing in The Mousetrap, said that she did not wish to comment.
