Princess Isabella on her first day of School

With an excited smile and a backpack full of books, Princess Isabella of Denmark set off for her first day at school this week.

The six-year-old royal was accompanied by her proud parents, Crown Prince Frederik and Crown Princess Mary as she left the Amalienborg Palace en route to the Tranegård Public School in Hellerup

She was dressed for the big day in a pretty floral top and a pair of shorts, and with a shyness typical of her tender years, answered some questions outside the Palace before heading off to class.

Revealing that she looking forward to doing homework, Isabella said that she wasn't expecting any help with it from her older brother, Prince Christian, who has been a pupil at the Tranegård School since August 2011.
