Oh and caught up a little bit today during lunch with "Dangerous Boys." I loved watching the boys dancing lol. It was amusing. Jihoo is funny when he dances cause he makes silly/cute faces lol. I was surprised who they chose as leader...I think it would be good for him though. He seems more shy.

Yes, I think most fans know that the NYC appearances were quite successful to exposing SNSD and Kpop to the US, but we won't quite overdo it. Korean media, however, are quite known to exaggerate or embellish a small amount of success into something bigger than it is. I think SNSD and fans know they should continue to work harder and be humble with all this.

Koreans can be very prideful people, and doing something that big in their eyes is very prideful to them, so they flaunt it. That is why I said that while the girls have their own expectations and goals, they have to carry the weight of Korea around with them, because they are Korea's national group. They are a symbol/icon in Korea now. This sets up SNSD to fly higher, or to fall harder imo.

yeah i'm glad that i haven't seen many sones actually bragging about it

most are just overjoyed by the fact that snsd get the chance to appear on those shows and we're pretty aware that snsd is just basically taking first approach and not looking for instant success

i guess they are an icon in korea and it's normal for their news to be exaggerated 

though these will actually raise the expectation more for snsd and hopefully they can deliver

I don't think Soy ever tweeted that the event would be cancelled. Still, I don't have a problem with Soy trying to break up an unofficial line before 6am as it wasn't supposed to be allowed, and Best Buy did not adhere to their rules they set for the fansigning event. She didn't like that there were fans having to wait hours in advance in the cold just get buy the CD and get a wristband. The fansigning fiasco was Best Buy and SM's fault for not communicating with each other well, and also for majorly underestimating people waiting in line early. What SM should have done and what they always do in Korea is to do a lottery/raffle, so people have fair chances to enter for the fansigning. SM needs to do better when it comes to fan events, because they have a knack for being inadequate and unorganized in the US. In the end, all the fiasco and large crowd helped even show the love fans have for the girls, but it was also time wasted for fans that waited for long hours.

And it did not help that the Best Buy staff were so rude, mean, and unprofessional to Sones. The managers had 2 girls crying and they kept screaming . "If you buy a cd your still not getting in." Do they even know who the girls are? And they probably make more than them in a week.I am so happy people got autographs but bummed I waited 12 hours for it and kept being denied then at 3 when I was the 50 person in line they opened it up and let people without wristbands get autographs too.They need a Street team for Girls generation in NY because they also picked the Worst Venue on 14th Street. That best Buy is always dead and after having someone scream at me for 2 hours straight I see why.42nd or 59th would have been better because of better security, more fans,and less problems.SM should be a part of the fansigning but only to approve the Venue. This is the 4th time I have had a problem getting into an event in NY and it's because of their lack of communication and disorganization. Soshified and fans from that state should be the ones to set it up and they approve or deny it. Maybe so many twits and rants would be less if people actually felt anyone cared. No matters because they will come again and I will keep trying to meet them and get a signature. I am happy the girls felt the love of their fans from NY because it wasn't just Sones who fell in love with them but regular people too.That is the power of 9.

Granted in the end it was a fiasco but I'd like to think that even if a majority of people didn't get the chance to see the girls' nor get an autograph I would like to at least think that those individuals spent their time with like minded individuals sharing stories about how they were introduced to and fell in love with the girls. I would also agree that if SME goes forward with any kind of 'world domination' or 'universal domination' (as some SONEs would like) for the girls' they realize that there are a lot of fans around the world who are more than willing to brave the elements and spend hard earned money (capitalism at it's finest) for their favorite group(s), so in the end they (SME) learn that expect the unexpected (legions of SONEs) and to put on a better event/show for their fans.

Sones were everywhere in NY and some spent all day talking like me with 3 girls we met. We all shared the same Bias and it felt amazing to know that Shoujo Jidai changed their lives too.My heart hurts still from not meeting the girls but I can smile tears of joy for their success and to see all those fans showing their support and spreading the love for the power of 9. I also will be camping out next time too. I know how to get around being asked to move. You leave then come back and just sit down and wait.I hope you are right about SM but they fail way too much for me to believe that. I hope when the girls come back I can help so I need to be more active on soshified to do any of that.Good Advice Semi.

To them, To us, For SNSD

As a sone you’ll probably hear a lot of fan accounts about how other  sones met SNSD at the fansign today. But I wanted to shed some light on  the amazing sones that don’t have that kind of story for you today. For the Best Buy fansign people started lining up at midnight, maybe  even earlier. By 6am there were already over a thousand sones waiting in  line for 300 bracelets. In the end 700+ were sent away. 

At 4pm the entrance to Best Buy was already packed with around a  thousand sones. So packed and hectic SNSD couldn’t even get off their  bus because of the entrance being blocked. They had to find another  entrance to get into Best Buy.

By 6pm the 300 with bracelets already went in Best Buy but over a thousand sones didn’t give up and still stood in line.

Even at 7pm people continued to line up.

There was probably no hope for these sones to see the girls but we  still waited. By 7:45 Best Buy decided to let some non bracelet sones in  but closed it off at 8pm.

We still didn’t give up at 8. Even when the security was telling us  we were wasting our time. We told them that they were still in there and  we still have hope.

With one look this may look like a rage rant or me being butt hurt but we did show certain people a few things about sones.

To them, it may be stupid to stand for over 4 hours even though the  chances to getting to meet SNSD personally was less than 1%. But you  know what? We showed you our love and support for SNSD to wait that long  outside in 30 degree weather holding on the tiny thread of hope and  using it as our strength.

To us, it might have been a mistake that some didn’t line up earlier  or couldn’t line up earlier. But NO ONE can say we were not dedicated,  we knew our chances to get in was slim, hell we knew that we might not  be able to see them at all. Even with that knowledge we were unwavering,  just like our love and support for them.

For SNSD, we showed Interscope not to underestimate our numbers. We  showed those security guards they weren’t just some unknown girl group  and their fans can cause whole sidewalk to be blocked out  (unintentionally) on one of the busiest streets in NY. Most of all we  showed SNSD that their sones are here and that we love them no matter  what. Even if we had to stand in the cold for hours just hoping. 

Even though me and other sones couldn’t see them. For this I was  proud. Proud to be able to tell SNSD that I love them even though I  didn’t get to see them. Actions do speak louder than words.

This pride is all I got today. This pride of the sones who couldn’t get in today, will never be taken away.

Never.

Sounds really crappy especially the rude crap. Ugh. I agree that there should be a street team for things like that and what you mentioned about SM just approving of the place (for security etc). I also agree about first come first serve. All this elitism is nonsense. In the end we're all just fans. Nothing more and nothing less honestly. I've been catching up on DB and am enjoying it.
