Sorry for this newbie question... :blush: but would anyone be able to explain the spelling/pronunciation of his name ie. Keun Suk vs. Geun Suk? I always referred to him as the latter, but I'm starting to see Keun Suk being used more. Is that the preferred way?

I don't know much Korean, but I think the common spelling would be Geun (G and K are the same hangul letter, but I think it spells G if placed in the front, and spells K when put at the end? *that's what is written in my learn Korean book anyway* ) But he himself uses Keun Suk... so that's what I'm using too...

have you tried opening it with Internet Explorer? Naver, nate, daum don't work well with Firefox, only with IE. I tried the link just now and the vid is still there...

If i'm not mistaken, the difference is due to the standardization of hangeul romanization ("spelling"). Previously, there is no standardization and people tend to spell the hangeul using how it sounds like. For Keun Suk (근석), the 'ㄱ' can be pronunced as 'g' or 'k' but in his case, it sounds more like 'k'. That's why most people spell it as "Keun Suk'. However, in 2000, the Korean government introduces standardization which states that all 'ㄱ' must be spelled as 'g'. It's not compulsory to spell it that way but it's recommended so that there's uniformity. Just like 'hangul' (pre-standardization) vs "hangeul' (post-standardization).

But I think someone has posted before that he prefers to use Keun Suk though I always ended up spelling it as Geun Suk instead

The first clip that shiro401 uploaded were cut from these clips. I was a bit sad, after getting over my excitement and happiness of the clip since I'm also a noona of one year to Keun Sukkie, because in that clip, Keun Sukkie only addressed noonas, but on the last clip here, he also said, "Keun Suk-oppa" so I think there's also another clip for his younger fans too. Yay for all. He didn't leave anyone out.
