O_oa thank you so much あはは~ これはね、 中川翔子(しょこたん)というアイドルが連発している言葉なのよ。 カナシス = 悲しい ギガント = とても だから、ギガントカナシス = very sad ってことかな? このギガントは、 ギザ < ギガント < ギガンティック < ビックバン という風に、変化するらしい。 詳しくは、 http://ja.wikipedia.org/wiki/%E3%81%97%E3%...%82%93%E8%AA%9E でもごめん。 もちろん、これは日本語サイトです。

Tamago86
does this make sense munashisa no shiru sadame it should say emptiness of mortality (mortal nature) im not sure if its right 人生のむなしさ sounds more natural (jinsei no munashisa) Uhh... somehow you spelled that wrong because I have no idea what you are talking about when you typed that. Who typed that? was it your friend or you just randomly typed that? Orangecake explained in Japanese in her post that ギガントカナシス is a slang word used by a certain Japanese idol, it's a combination of かなしい (sadness) ie カナシス and ギガント (giganto) which is slang for gigantic.. so ギガントカナシス means something like very sad
Guest heartkiller
but wouldnt that = human life is emptiness unless you looked at it as human life is empty ignore me im tired and im just a newbie
Tamago86
but wouldnt that = human life is emptiness unless you looked at it as human life is empty ignore me im tired and im just a newbie the problem lies more in how you define mortality in english..if you view it as I view it as the state of being human, and not living forever (ie the opposite of immortality), then 人生or possibly 人間 would be the closest equivalent, if you view it as the number of deaths in a particular situation of period of time or a death itself well that's kind of different..but for the first one there's no 1 to 1 translation for it in japanese..you can say things like 死ぬ運命 or 死を免れないこと but those don't really sound poetic at all when used with むなしい . It's more about trying to translate meaning than trying to translate word for word Sorry I can't be more of a help than that haha

Guest twinkle_l0ve
^ mou ichido means "once more" e.g. "mou ichido yondekudasi" = "please read it once more"
Guest heartkiller
so basically the english translation is a backwards translation of it so it would actually be ichido mou ? oh gosh im so lost when it comes to this stuff
Guest cerys
^ err not exactly?? Its because the sentence structure and grammar between English and Japanese are totally different, so don't apply your knowledge of English to Japanese. If you're learning the language, try to think Japanese, not English Just remember that mou ichido means 'once more' like twinkle_l0ve said :
