"Descendants of the Sun" actor Song Joong-ki is currently busy with his on-going Asian tour aside from several modeling stint and photo-shoots for endorsements. As a matter of fact, the 30-year-old star is reportedly set to visit Thailand and China these coming months.

His popularity has indeed soared after the feat of the 16-episode Korean drama that he got several endorsements and other projects. However, while Song Joong-ki is enjoying the attention that he is getting from fans around the globe, many have noticed that the actor is looking sick and tired lately.

Song Joong-ki to star in 'Detective Hong Gil-dong' & 'Battleship Island'

Song Joong-ki is also set to star in the upcoming new film titled "Detective Hong Gil-dong," which was revealed on Monday at a press conference. After the said movie, the actor will also top the bill in the "Battleship Island" film.

Most recent reports claim that "Battleship Island" is about Korea's Japanese occupation. Landing the role of Park Moo-young, Song Joong-ki will be portraying as an independence fighter who would initiate to rescue Korean soldiers that were captured by Japan.

"I really want to do a period piece set in the Japanese occupation era," Song Joong-ki divulged. "With this film, I've cleared one longtime goal."

Though his next roles are going to unleash his inner soldier, Song Joong-ki made it clear that he is not deserting his pretty boy image and even promised his thousand fans to maintain his young-looking skin. "I am going to prevent aging as much as possible," he said.

Cha Tae Hyun's wife ditched Park Bo Gum for Song Joong Ki?

Actor Cha Tae Hyun appeared on MBC's 'Radio Star' on April 27, where he talked about his wife.

He said, "My wife really liked Park Bo Gum while watching 'Reply 1988.'  However, once 'Descendants of the Sun' started, she immediately changed to Song Joong Ki.  It's been a while since I saw my wife's feelings change so quickly.  However, the time it took her to change was too short.  It was to the point even I was fascinated and shocked by it.  To make matters even worse, even the neighborhood women around her went, 'Oh my.  She changed so quickly, what's going to happen to Park Bo Gum?' and worried about him," making everyone laugh.

He continued, "There was a time when Song Joong Ki came near my house.  I was drinking with my wife, and he said that he was with Chang Suk so we should meet up with them after which the whole area went crazy.  My wife contacted everyone and got responses like, 'Did you save a country?' 'I have to go there,' and more messages went flying around.  From my point of view, it was so funny."

Song Joong Ki gets extraordinary security treatment in Hong Kong

Reaping from the success and fame of Descendants of the Sun, it seems like Song Joong Ki is well-protected during a recent trip to Hong Kong. 

Recently, Song Joong Ki flew to Hong Kong for a series of appearances including the product presentation of Dior Homme. However, an online community posted a photo of the actor upon his arrival at the airprot.

The photo was taken from Song Joong Ki’s arrival at the airport where he was seen surrounded by a number of security staff, their hands locked in a circle around him as he walked.

The photo garnered a number of comments as it reflected the necessary precautions needed to protect the actor from his undying popularity.

Have to correct this article, this in not when he arrived in HK but about to leave and going back to Seoul instead...

He's not an ordinary actor this time, and his agency (Blossom) needs to protect him. They assigned several security guards to made sure that nothing will happen with SJK... Prevention is a lot better rather than you regret in the end!

Cha Tae-hyeon reveals, "My wife had a drink with Song Joong-ki, her friends got jealous"

Cha Tae-hyeon appeared in the TV talk show, "Radio Star" and opened up about an episode in which he realized Song Joong-ki's huge popularity.

The episode of MBC's talk show, "Radio Star" was broadcast under the title, 'We became your fan'. Cha Tae-hyeon, Bae Seong-woo, Victoria and Choi Jin-ho-I guest-starred in the show.

Cha Tae-hyeon revealed an episode about his wife "I witnessed my wife's mind changed so quickly for the first time in a while. How can she change her mind from Park Bo-geom to Song Joong-ki so quickly".

Cha Tae-hyeon said, "Even our neighborhood ladies, who like Park Bo-geom usually, became worried. They said, 'how can she change her mind just like that'".

Cha Tae-hyeon also revealed humorously, "I had a drink with Song Joong-ki several days ago near my house. My wife also joined us there. But the entire block got excited" and "I happened to see the text messages my wife received. All of the text messages said, 'I'm jealous', 'I think you must have saved the entire nation in your previous life' and all other similar messages'.

Song Joong Ki shaves his head for a new movie

Song Joong Ki will be taking on the role of a soldier once again, and this time, he is going bald! The actor shared the news during a recent fan meeting, where he announced, "For my next movie I am planning to shave my head." 

Fans, who were in shock at the sudden news, received even more shock from a recent photo of Song Joong Ki. The picture was shared on his official fan club page, and shows him smiling at the camera with his head hidden under a hat. Fans suspected that he has already shaved his head for his new movie, titled 'Battleship Island'. Meanwhile, 'Battleship Island' is scheduled to start filming in June. 

If anyone can pull off a hairless soldier look, it's definitely Song Joong Ki!
