About himself

After his film Friend, he became a very popular actor in Korea. The guy

with the nickname "cow" has been an actor for 10 years. When he graduated

from high school, he had not decided where to continue school. Although he

was not lack in studying, but in 1992 he attended Study Guidance Group.

At that moment, many people, especially his family, criticized his

behaviour and this made Jang stressful. His first performance in public was in

an advertisement film. He was chosen as one of the supporting actors.

His first fee was only 250000 won which he used to pay for his school fees.

After his first performance he felt that he was born to be an actor.

Jang's success was gained fast. In his first drama Our Heaven, Jang acted as

a student who attended the Study Guidance Group. It was just like he was

in real life. Through his acting in this film, Jang was selected as a new

idol. "I was very ashamed of my performance. I felt that I could not

act well in the audition. The first time I was chosen as a leading actor,

I felt it was a hard time for me. Fortunately I was helped and supported

by senior actors so I could pass the hard times." He recalled many people

admire his good looking face. Actually he is thankful for it but

sometimes he feels upset if one considers him using his looks as his only power,

not the acting itself.

Then he decided to continue in theatricals in Korean Art University. His acting

ability improved and also his view about life widened. He realized that his

handsome face is a fortune commodity but it does not mean everything for him.

In Friend, he did not play as a good, well settled guy. He said, "formerly I did

not think that the film would succeed. But it did. Since I acted in this film, I have raised my

self confidence. I dare to appear in front of thousands eyes which starred

at me. Now I have higher responsibility for my films. If you are saying

that I have succeeded in breaking the record in Korea as an actor, then

where will I be in the future? I still have to improve my acting so I will

satisfy the people who watched my films and myself. By the films

Doctor Family and Last Decision, I became popular in Vietnam. I remembered my

first time in Vietnam. It was 2 am. I heard so many people yelled

something. I thought there must be a top guy in my plane. Oh, but

then I knew that they yelled my name. In my free time, I like to play online games or sport. Sport is very

important for actors. Talking about married life, I have not thought about it.

Even I dont know whether it will be necessary for me NOW. I am now 30 yrs

plus. I know what my parents hope for me but I dont have enough time to know

a lady better. I had a girlfriend when I was in high school and in college

but I have not found a girlfriend in my heart. Beauty is not the one thing

I look for but being comfortable and convenient beside her is the most

important thing".
