Wonder Girls to perform in front of 90,000 in Beijing

It was recently announced that Wonder Girls will be performing on front of a crowd of 90,000 this week!

Wonder Girl’s agency JYP Entertainment spoke to Star News on the 22nd stating, “On the 26th, the Wonder Girls will appear at a big-scale concert with Hong Kong stars in Beijing, China.” The event, titled the ‘China Mobile Concert,’ will take place at the Beijing Olympic Arena that hosts 90,000 audience members.

Stars such as famous singer/song writer David Tao and Taiwanese actor/singer Kenji Woo will perform at the concert; and Wonder Girls are anticipated to be the highlight of the show.

Currently, the Wonder Girls are working on a new album traveling back and forth between America and Korea. Their ‘Nobody‘ was recently ranked no.4 on the Canadian music chart.

Arrgh, can't stand the suspense...

You know, LIM had me at "energetic": I was tripping out, wondering if she wasn't hinting about the album track title or something.

WG, of course, had done it with 2DT: the '2TEARS' password; Sunye gesticulating the '2-2' dance; the teaser of the backing track for the MV teaser (from the Jobros tour), etc.

I assume JYP has flown over from meeting SW & was with the girls when LIM heard the tracks?

The album has gotta be in post-production (mixing) now.

Wonder if WG will return to Korea after Beijing to film the MV next.

On the other hand, the 2 new songs that Lim tweet before i think was produced by Claude Kelly, they recorded wt him then when they back Korea, Claude continue to mix and finish it, so now tafter they back NY they can hear their new songs

Until the end of this week, if they finish record with SW and JYP, i think when they travel to Beijing, SW and JYP will finish it and maybe after China, they back Korea for practicing new dance + JYP gave them the finishing songs and they film MV in Korea in April?

I dont think JYP still use the 6 old songs (English remake) + 6 new songs, it's strategy for 2009, when the girls havent had good producers(except JYP ... should i count JoBros as good producer? lol )

Now they have many good producers and have good songs, why they must use the old song when have many other choices

Btw, I think in 3 year since they left Korea, our girls must record at least 20-30 songs but didnt use them cuz they are still waiting for the BEST, that can over the Nobody shadow

I'll be shocked if SW flies to New York to record with a Kpop girlgroup. He didn't even do it for Paul McCarthy! j/k (Their duets Ebony & Ivory + Say Say Say were famously recorded separately in person.)

SW has his own studio &, with his handicap, I don't think he will travel if he can help it.

Anyway, the Hollywood gossip columns said he was still in LA over the weekend.

On the old '6+6' blueprint: I think 4 remakes (Nobody, Tell Me, So Hot, Nobody Rainstone Remix) were subsequently released with the 2DT EP.

I also remember JYPE considering releasing 2 WG albums in mid-year last year, before changing plans in favor of touring North America & then Asia for the rest of the year.

So WG never went back to the studios to finish recording the remaining 5 new songs (discounting 2DT) intended for the follow-up.

Ditto LIM earlier in the year, what with the Special Edition Album coming out in mid-Feb (2 weeks after Sunmi served notice). That's why 4D Alien's vocals were retained for both the Chinese & English remakes.

The Monster Cable engineer, Einstein_MCP, got to hear a couple of new tracks at Rainstone's courtesy, but it was not ascertained whether they were instrumentals &/or with WG 'guide' vocals (for the producer to compose the music around).

All the same, he had tweeted the photo evidence so there's no reason to doubt that these 2 songs exist (rudimentary or not) before Claude Kelly & Fredro Odesjo were mobilized.

Otherwise I don't think WG has any other material in the vaults. That's not the way JYP works, which is quickly & efficiently. See Sunye's 'Maybe', Yeeun's 'Let's Play' with San E, or the JYP Nation single.

He was also preoccupied with other stuff last year. WG was more or less on their own as a result, except for the 2DT & 'This Xmas' productions, Pivot Conference etc.

Theoretically, missA's single albums must have contained tracks that JYP could have given to WG as well.

In fact, I won't be surprised if he did pass the 5 unrecorded songs to his other proteges, perhaps after re-evaluating the US market & deciding WG can no longer depend on the Jobros fanbase.

Here is another Korean media article about WG's Beijing trip.

I have seen the Chinese fan translation, but maybe someone else can interpret it first-hand.

It quoted JYPE saying WG is currently busy working with world-class composers & will continue preparing for their comeback after this weekend.

원더걸스 멤버 혜림은 23일 오전 자신의 트위터를 통해 "이번 주말에 저희 중국가요"라며 "중국가기 전에 계속 녹음 있지만 기분 좋아요"라고 오랜만에 근황을 알렸다.

현재 원더걸스는 미국에 머무르며 두 번째 해외 활동을 준비 중이다. 원더걸스 소속사 JYP엔터테인먼트 측은 이날 스타뉴스에 "세계적인 작곡가들과 음반 녹음에 한창이다"라며 "우선 미국에서 음반 작업을 한 뒤 컴백 일정을 조율할 것"이라고 밝혔다.

원더걸스는 새 음반 작업과 더불어 중국 콘서트 무대에도 오른다. 멤버들은 오는 26일 중국 베이징 올림픽주경기장에서 중화권 스타들과 함께 '차이나 모바일 콘서트'에 참가할 예정이다.

이번 공연에는 중국의 유명 싱어송라이터 도철, 대만 배우 겸 가수 켄지 우 등이 참석하며, 원더걸스는 중국 팬들의 대대적인 주목을 받을 전망이다.
