FYI The Harbin forum at Soufan (China's biggest real-estate online network) is abuzz about WG performing at their December 29 Four Seasons 四季上东 New Year's concert.

WONDERGIRLS wraps up a successful concert

Taozhizun was the title sponsor of the December 17 Hong Kong concert by Korean girlgroup WONDERGIRLS concert at AsiaWorld Arena. The quintet performed their hearts out for 90 minutes & received a great fan response.

WG of worldwide 'Nobody' fame proved to be a box office draw by playing to a full house. They performed 3 versions of their hit song during the night. During the show, group members Yoobin, Sohee, LIM, Sunye & Yeeun each took solo turns to showcase their individual talents. The yellow-haired Yeeun played the piano & sang. The night before, she had sprained her foot during rehearsals & had gone to the hospital for treatment. She did not let the injury affect her performance, even climbing on top of the piano to dance.

K-pop fever strikes Singapore

Before the New Year kicks off to a promising start with two Super Show 3 gigs in Jan 2011, here’s a photo recap remembering the best of K-pop in Singapore after multitude of gigs and fan meets

With the island stricken by K-Fever, 2010 has been a bumper year for K-pop groups as seen by the meteoric surge in the number of music showcases, concerts, and fan meetings held over the course of the past 12 months.

We counted a staggering number -- and some may even find it hard to believe -- of more than 25 different bands and artistes who have invaded and left their imprints on our sunny shores. These Korean idols came, sang, danced, and charmed their ways into the hearts and pockets of eager K-boppers.

Fervent fans lapped it up gleefully, be it catching a glimpse of their 'oppas' at the airport, queuing overnight for tickets, camping online for best seats in the house, or blowing their allowance on a brand new handset.

Following 2010's packed lineup, the 2011 is shaping out to be another Hallyu-crazed year with Super Junior's two Super Show 3 gigs in January. Heads-up to all K-pop fans, it's time to start saving up!

Apart from the two Super Show concerts, Terence Ang, chief marketing officer of Fly Entertainment (also in-charge of Running Into The Sun's PR matters) revealed there's more to come. The Super Junior concert organizer is currently in the midst of firming up two other concerts for "two different acts" in 2011.

According to Terence, the two said groups have been to Singapore before and were picked on a "very selective" regime.

"Running Into The Sun wants to bring in the best and groups must be big names before we decide to bring them in." he said.

Going by the criteria listed, it doesn't take much to narrow down the choices to a mere handful. Any lucky guesses which two groups it will be?

These girls were all the craze in 2009 with their hit song 'Nobody' dominating the airwaves. When the girls were in town as Sony Ericsson ambassadors, they drew a mini crowd to their various events, no mayhems or human congestions in sight. You can't blame fans for the lukewarm reception. With the group's sights now focused on the western market, the girls have been inactive from the Asian music scene. As compared to their peers, they've only had two single releases over the past two years.

This is more for the LIMits: Remember Yifei (aka E Fei or Xiaofei) of the JYP SISTERS?

I found her through missA JIA & FEI, who both follow her on Weibo.

She calls herself 'Eva' now, is quite active on Weibo & also actively blogs on Sina.

Looks like she is currently studying in Beijing while occasionally performing on China TV shows.

She shared a TV clip of her performing 'Umbrella' with JYP China artist Liu Xin about a month ago. See her Nov 10 video tweet, or surf to her blog.

Liu Xin is also active on Weibo too (her username reads as 'Liu Xin The Imp' 小鬼刘忻). Looks older & more gaunt now.

2010 is about to end. Preparations for New Year's Eve concerts are in full swing as various TV stations build up to the new year! China's Jiangsu TV had previously announced Korean idol group WONDERGIRLS for their New Year's Eve show. Susan Boyle has now also signed a contract. The 2 forces are about to share the same stage; let's see who emerges as the more charismatic performer!

Jiangsu TV has already confirmed Fish Leong, Elva Hsiao, Fan Fan, Yoga Lin, DA MOUTH & others. It had pledged that this year's concert won't be just a gathering of stars fromChina, Taiwan, Hong Kong & Macau. There will also be international superstars, with interminable news that Avril Lavigne has been invited. But a staff said: "Negotiations are at the 90 percent stage. Both sides are about to exchange final contract drafts; only the signatures are missing!"

Even as Avril Lavigne & Jiangsu TV were still in discussion, another girlgroup had stealthily agreed to terms. The TV station proceeded to issue a statement: "Jiangsu TV & WONDERGIRLS have signed a contract, & this top girlgroup will appear on our New Year's Eve concert stage." The concert director said: "WONDERGIRLS is very popular in China. Their song 'Nobody' is almost a household name!"

Gossip about participating guests are really over the top with each passing day. Justin Bieber, David & Victoria Beckham, et al. are the latest rumors for other New Year's Eve shows.

Sina entertainment news. Korean idol group WONDERGIRLS recently tweeted their selcas on Weibo [sic]. Group member Yoobin looks thinner than in the past & is also increasingly sexier. This has become a talking point among the fans.

Even though WONDERGIRLS has cut short their Korean activities, they remain in contact with the fans through Weibo & other social media. Recently, group member Yeeun tweeted a couple photos of her with Yoobin & LIM.

The pictures showed Yoobin to be much thinner than before. She has a V-shaped chin now, & her facial features are more refined. Her red lipstick also makes her look sexier than before.

Wonder Girls‘ leader, Sunye, plans to support Park Jin Young by performing with him during his ‘Bad Party-The Dancer‘ concert.

A representative of JYP Entertainment stated, “Despite being busy during the end of the year due to her Asia promotions, Sunye has been scheduled to return to Korea and join Park Jin Young up on stage. It is planned that the two will have a special performance. ”

Park Jin Young’s ‘Bad Party-The Dancer’ concert will be held in Seoul on both December 23rd and 24th, and in Daegu on December 26th.
