[Fancam] Wonder Girls @ Hotel Genting MY [101212]

^

For Sohee and Yubin fans!! This is a MUST watch fancam!! Sohee looks so cute and Yubin walks like a dude!CUTE!!

A few words of description from the uploader:

It's really hard to take this fancam..I have to struggle with this 'giant' fierce lion bodyguard...TT TT... WG heading to their hotel before I took the fancam..there was Yeeun also... but wether I'm too slow to switch on my camera..or they were too fast to walk towards their hotel ^ ^..either way..the bodyguard already warn us not to take any pictures... BTW... some WFs shout out Yeeun's name, and she stop for awhile and smile ^ ^ (Queen Yeeun).. but then they walk fast to the lobby escorted by the bodyguards..then we decided to wait coz we have psychic thought that told us to wait a little bit longer..(their flight was @ 11pm to korea that night)

And then ^ ^..huhu SunLim couple went out from the lobby to go to the Coffee Terrace (Restaurant nearby the hotel)..and again.. we struggle with those *hgduwigdiwugdie* bodyguards TT TT..so I couldn't take a longer fancam of them..then few minutes later Soyoo couple pop up, heading to the same restaurant... BTW, Lim waved to all of us..but leader seems so tired so we don't want to bother her as she just walk with her head looking down (it's her style ^ ^)

then we wait for 1 hour and half for them to go out from the restaurant...my friend (a Sunlight) saw Sunye unni taking her foods from the food section just like Sohee's in the video while I was at the lobby hoping to see Yeeun,Sohee and Yoobin to come out form the lobby (So I miss the part of Sunye)..Sunye was lifting the cover of food, sip the food and smell it like a child ^ ^ before putting it on her plate (hope u can imagine that by yourself) my friend was too into her own world that she forgot to record it TT TT..

Then it's Sohee's turn to take the foods.. there u go... baby is taking her food ^ ^.. u should notice that she's a little shocked when a woman behind her whisper " Soheeya~" hahhahaha... our maknae has very sensitive ears..

I didn't see Yoobin and Lim taking their foods though TT TT...

AND to those who are wondering where is Yeeun unni???!!! I'm asking that too..coz she's the only one who didn't join the others to the restaurant... So actually that is too shocking!! Queen of food did not turn up??! So I'm guessing she's on diet for the new album ^ ^ ...

So... that's it! It really worth it waiting for them from 10:30~2pm...

Finally a English report from a Malaysian newspaper. Sounds like the journalist is a MY Wonderfuls mole. LOL

I omitted the published photos since they used the ones provided by the organizers.

Wonderful show from Korean pop group

By SETO KIT YAN

skyseto@thestar.com.my

South Korean pop group Wonder Girls set temperatures soaring at the Malaysian leg of its concert tour.

GENTING Highlands was so chilly last Saturday night it gave me 2 Different Tears but Wonderfuls Tell Me that Nobody felt cold because Wonder Girls were just So Hot. (Wonder Girls’ fans are called Wonderfuls.)

No sweat in spotting Wonder Girls’ song titles in that. The South Korean all-girl pop act does not have many songs (they did three versions each of Nobody and 2 Different Tears during the show), yet the girls effortlessly pumped up the heat at their first concert at the Arena Of Stars during the Malaysian leg of their concert tour which kicked off in Seoul early last year.

Emerging individually in sexy all-black getup, the lasses aptly sent temperatures soaring as they opened their The First Wonder concert here with a blistering rendition of So Hot.

The vivacious five-girl group then continued to dazzle the 5,000-strong crowd with their pretty outfits, polished acts and popular hits in Korean, English and Mandarin.

Wonder Girls’ current line-up comprises Min Sun-ye, 21, (Yenny) Park Ye-eun, 21, Ahn So-hee, 18, Kim Yu-bin, 22, and Woo Hye-rim, 18.

The girls are no strangers to Malaysia – they first performed here four months ago at the rained-out MTV World Stage Live in Malaysia at Sunway Lagoon Surf Beach, Bandar Sunway, Selangor. They shared the stage with international acts like American pop star Katy Perry and German rock band Tokio Hotel as well as homegrown punk act Bunkface.

Delivering some 20 songs during their 90-minute show last Saturday, the girls, who were accompanied by half a dozen back-up dancers, strutted their stuff with countless costume changes. They also thrilled fans with their solo numbers: Yu-bin’s Rock Star, So-hee’s Single Ladies, Yenny’s Tainted Love and Sun-ye’s You Raise Me Up.

Ardent MYWonderfuls (Malaysian Wonderfuls) sang along enthusiastically to their favourite catchy tunes. Dressed in the Wonder Girls official colour, pearl burgundy, and waving placards and multi-coloured glowsticks, MYWonderfuls constantly declared their love for their idols between songs.

While singing I Tried, the girls went off the stage to meet their delighted fans. Amid a flurry of excitement and enthusiastic hand-shaking, the girls also plucked a male Wonderful from the crowd and serenaded the beaming fellow on stage with Saying I Love You.

A major So-hee fan, the lucky chap demonstrated his affections using a banner with her name on it and a pink life-size teddy bear, apart from waving the purple glowstick.

Warming up the screaming audience as opening acts for Wonder Girls’ concert that night were local pop artistes Henley Hii (2007 champion of Project Superstar 2), Lau Wan Yin (2008 champion of International Hokkien Singing Competition) and Iz Sulaini (One In A Million 2 finalist).

Wonder Girls became a global phenomenon when the group’s infectious hit song Nobody went viral and even sparked a dance craze around the world last year. The girls continued to bag awards at various Korean music festivals since their debut in early 2007.

The girls have released an album titled The Wonder Years (2007) and four singles – The Wonder Begins (2007), So Hot and The Wonder Years Trilogy (2008) and 2 Different Tears (2010). Hallyu star-maker Park Jin Young produces their songs and they are signed to his talent agency JYP entertainment.

After making their name in the United States while they gave 45 performances as the opening act for teen pop group Jonas Brothers, the girls went on their 27-stop tour of the United States and Canada last year. They are said to be taking their act to China next.

> Held at the Arena Of Stars last Saturday,The First Wonder Wonder Girls Live In Malaysia 2010 was jointly organised by Star Planet and Hwa Yea Multimedia.

Here is a scanned copy of the print version.

News clip of WG concert by, I believe, a Facebook infotainment portal (Hisoing.com).

A very professional job, if true. The video quality is the best so far (wish they can load the full song clips) & they also wrote a news report on their FB.

Thought I pop in here to see whats going on, haven't been to this thread in a while.

Hmmm, reading the fanaccount about Yeeun.... I think most times that fans need to slow their roll about how they deal with celebrities. They need to treat them like what they are... normal human beings with way cooler jobs :) We all know how nice Yeeun is, this was probably just an off day. I mean when you have a bad day would you want someone who you don't know up in your face? Also take into account that she's probably jet lagged, practicing all night for the team-play concert, preparing for the U.S., and it's the holidays (which can be stressful for some). That's alot of pressure if you ask me. she is not perfect, she's not a robot, she's Yenny. She is grateful for the love and support her and the rest get, you can see it in how she tries to put 120% in to her performances. This person shouldn't have hurt feelings, it's just bad timing.

By the way, I think her blonde hair could work, if they styled it different and do her make-up alittle light with blush and peach tones.

there's really no "mixed feelings" here about yeeun's hair. I don't like it. At all.

What is with JYP and their bad hair choices for the girls! The best thing they've done in recent times is making yoobin's hair red. And not the current shade of red, either. -_-

^ Come on, dont blame JYP, he is not the one who chosen the hairstyles for the girls, why ppl always blame JYP even in the part that he doesnt control ?

I think it's Ye Eun's choice, Wonder Girls is big enough to choose what they want, now, even the stylist want they do something, but if they dont agree, nobody can force them to do it :)

And as we know, when the girls in US, or even when they attend NY fashion show, every thing from make up to hairstyle to do by themselves, they chose what they want. For me, I really dislike Ye Eun's hair in 2DT album cover, but she said she loves it, and Sun Ye, Yoo Bin loves it too, they wear that "wool" on stage

Btw, i think the quality of Xperia photo is not good, so i am waiting others photo , but in fact i dont want Ye Eun's hair is just blonde, i hope she do something new, like Yoo Bin with red - blonde :)

I don't think it's Yeeun's choice... Maybe it's the stylist or something. Since it's a pretty big change? Idk.

And I'd really like to see Sohee do something different with her hair! I don't think she did anything drastic towards it except for the occasional curls and bangs. Oh and her short boyish do in 2DT (which was a wig lol so it doesn't count!) And her hair colour has always been dark... I'd love to see her go red or maybe a light shade of brown. She can definitely pull it off :)

Yesterday I watched the clear version of the Wonder Girls as Wonderfuls skit- finally able to read the captions.

The 2009 skit was probably scripted by JYP, this one looks to come straight from the girls and is really provocative. It has a distinctive "we know y'all" feeling

Though the creation of bonds with fans has become the new reality of many artists, it looks like the girls have raised the standards. Sorry for the Jonases / Monsters / whatever but this is way better :P

--

Some HD cams taken from the VVIP area. They don't cover whole songs, but have very clear close ups.

Can't imagine how the wonderful who took them could spazz and shoot at the same time XD - yet I like the mix.

This Fool - Eebabo

This one has a part of Yeeun's intro before her solo

Wonder Girls at Genting - Irony + Yenny's talking

I like this cam, it gives the idea of what it is to get as close as it can be to the girls.

Wonder Girls at Genting - I Tried

Wonderfuls waiting outside after the concert's end.

WONDERGIRLS ranks 31st in Billboard '2010 Hot 100 Single Sales'

2010-12-13 07:54

Girlgroup WONDERGIRLS has made another appearance on a Billboard music chart.

On December 2, Billboard.biz showed WONDERGIRLS's 'Nobody' sitting impressively at the 31st spot in its 2010 Hot 100 Single Sales chart.

The girls had released 'Nobody' in America in October last year, & became the 1st Asian singer since 1980 to chart when they reached 76th in the 'Hot 100 Singles'. They have now produced another completely-unexpected feat.

In particular, this latest chart is based on statistical results across all music genres this year. It has thus received great attention. The girls have joined the Top 100 alongside prominent & unconventional artistes like sexy singer Katy Perry & the unhibited Lady Gaga. They are ranked even higher than Madonna's 'Revolver' (34th) & Grammy winner Ne-Yo's 'Beautiful Monster' (36th).

Prior to this, Billboard also picked WONDERGIRLS to rank 16th in its '21 Pop Stars Under 21' list.

JYP Entertainment said: "We were gobsmacked when we heard the news. 'Nobody' was released in October 2009. We are very proud that it has remained consistently popular to rank 31st in single sales this year."

WONDERGIRLS had just completed their 1st-ever Malaysian concert on December 11. They are heading to Hong Kong next week for another gig.

FYI These are the shortlisted 25 among 3,500 JYP auditioners in SG.

Spot any potential Wonder Girls? The local media hype said JYP plans to form a new girlgroup out of the new trainees.

I understand the racial breakdown is 24 Chinese + 1 Indonesian.

Towards the end of Day 2, a local newspaper had confirmed with one Korean judge that it was 16 + 1.

The Indonesian is a guy, so I guess that's him in the middle pic.

JYP himself will vet them & the Sydney + HK choices at the next stage, with final announcements on Jan 10.

Alpha Entertainment Facebook says there are 1,600 registered auditioners for Hong Kong. (Walk-ins will also be accepted at the start of each day.)

I am a little confused. I'm happy that the girls are making news everywhere with the billboard singles chart these days but why wasn't it HUGE news when they were NO.1 last year in the same chart?! I remember very clearly it was the SAME year-end Billboard singles sales chart and WG nobody was NO.1. It seems to be only more believable to the media when they are ranked 31? Please correct me if I am wrong.

Wonder Girls to open their first solo concert in Hong Kong!

20101215_wondergirls_1.jpg

Moving on from their promotions in America, the Wonder Girls are now in Hong Kong to meet their fanbase there.

The girls will be opening their first concert in Hong Kong on December 17th as part of their Asian Tour, co-organized by their agency JYP Entertainment and Mnet Media.

“The Wonder Girls being in Hong Kong is not only a hot issue amongst their fans, but also the media. With the addition of Hye Lim, who is fluent in Korean, Mandarin, Cantonese, and English, we think we will be able to connect with the fans even more during this international tour,” stated Mnet Media.

The Wonder Girls expressed, “We’re very nervous about opening such a large-scale concert in Hong Kong, the heart of Asia. We will be showing great performances, giving back all the love everyone has given us.”

Looks like their HK concert is a biggie; this report mentions 8,000 tickets were sold before new seats were added.

The article was written in 3rd-person mode. I changed it to 1st-person (i.e. "I") in the translation. The writer-columnist also insinuated she is middle-aged(?)

Raising legs & singing 'Nobody', Hallyu's female quintet sweeps across China, Hong Kong & Taiwan

Hong Kong Economic Journal 2010-12-13

Written by 卡夫卡 ("Kafka")

I dare not comment about whether Kpop idol groups are popular in Hong Kong. But mention the 'Fun With Liza & Gods' episode from several months ago -- where sexy garter skirts & "nobody nobody stupid banana" (latter is pronounced 'ban chiu' in Cantonese) became the talk of the town -- & everyone from small kids to old folks are still able to sing it!

Thanks to the 'Liza' show's top impersonators UNDER GIRLS, Korean girlgroup WONDERGIRLS's (WG) 'Nobody' is experiencing a popular craze in Hong Kong. Whenever this dowager heard the music, my brittle bones would belie their age. I would raise my leg & point my fingers, throwing flirtatious glances while singing & dancing along. I badly wanted to invite my mother to WONDERGIRLS's concert on Friday (December 17). According to Dennis, the spokesperson for the organizers: "Ticket sales are very satisfactory. More than 8,000 tickets have been sold, & we have decided to add new seats this week." Luckily, I had deftly bought VIP seats before now. It is not hard to anticipate the exciting spectacle to come, with 10,000 spectators noisily cheering on!

China & Taiwan have enthusiastically bought into Hallyu

Actually, 'Nobody' has already swept China, Hong Kong, Taiwan & Southeast Asia long ago. My friend Jerri told me it was already a hit in Beijing night markets 2 years ago! The 2 of us usually kid with each other, but trendy Kpop songs in China is no longer a novelty. The sight of Korean-style garments parading on Taobao (China shopping portal) is evidence that my countrymen are buying them. WG debuted just 3 years ago, yet their 'Nobody' dance fever had spread from Korea to Beijing, then from Taiwan to Hong Kong, even reaching the Billboard chart in America later on. It has become an indelible example of a globally-famous song.

On Youtube, the Nobody MV has more than 40 million views. In addition, when the WG craze hit Taiwan last year, their variety-show genre had unleashed a copycat fad. There was the WOND得儿 GIRLS (pronounced as in English; their platform was the 'The Largest Political Party' show). Jam Hsiao even attempted a rock version of 'Nobody' in his concert. It is clear that WG is widely accepted by Mandopop. On hearing this, ny DJ friend bluntly reminded me: "Kpop idol groups are always good at singing & dancing. The likes of SNSD & 2PM are extremely popular in China & Taiwan. Many year-end music awards ceremonies & New Year's Eve shows are already bidding high prices to invite them over. China is the foreign idol groups' gateway to the Southeast Asian markets." No wonder WG had added a new member in LIM. She has studied & grown up in Hong Kong, & may turn out to be their biggest weapon in Chinese-speaking markets.

Prison inmates' cross-dressing hot dances

Actually, it is not that unusual for the uncles & aunties to have 'Nobody' as ringtones. Neither is it exceptional for 2 or 3 year-old toddlers to mimic or even to identify the girls' personal names. What made my eyes budge out: convicts also dancing together! In 2007, a prison in Cebu, Philippines decided to have mass dances in lieu of physical exercise. They instilled discipline into the convicts, & the results were unexpectedly good. Their video of a 1000-strong colony of prisoners mimicking a Michael Jackson dance went viral on Youtube. Their subsequent performance of Kpop idol group SUPERJUNIOR's 'Sorry Sorry' made the TV news & garnered a lot of airtime. Their next attempt was the popular 'Nobody'. Over 1,000 of them danced in time to the music, their coordinated moves completely unequivocal, tidily changing into different mass formations. The one difference was that they looked positively murderous as they danced. But their professional demeanor was on par with the stars' own. There were also photographers taking pictures, with tourists directed to watch as an embellishment. The convicts' performance was extremely entertaining; I was in hysterics. Clearly they are updated on current pop culture, always dancing to global hit songs!

Park Tae Hwan coming on two shows talking about his relationship with Sunye (oh bother!)

one already out today and allkpop posted an article about it.

On December 15th, Korea’s Olympic ‘Marine Boy’ Park Tae Hwan confessed his desire for a girlfriend during his appearance on SBS’s ‘Bae Ki Hwan Choi, Young Ah & Jo Hyung Ki’s Good Morning.’

“You start to get extremely lonely when you’re frequently training overseas. My ideal woman is someone who can support me through my swimming. I’m so hungry for a girlfriend that my hunger for a girlfriend is worse than my hunger for food,” expressed the swimmer.

When MC Jo Hyung Ki asked Park Tae Hwan, “I heard you’re close with 2AM’s Jo Kwon, have you ever talked about it with him?” The swimmer replied, “I asked Kwon, “Find me a best friend”, but Kwon seems to be extremely busy, to the point where he doesn’t even have enough time to eat.”

Park Tae Hwan also revealed his relations with Wonder Girls’ Sunye. “I was introduced to Sunye by Kwon. Since I was a fan, I told Kwon to give me her number. We’re all the same age, and since Sunye and Kwon were always close and I got closer with Sunye, the three of us got close immediately.”

and the next one is golden fishery , where he will also talk about his other speculated Kim Yuna( who just happens to be one of Sunye's friends >.<)

I saw some Korean articles about the SBS TV specials yesterday. But they used KARA's photo, so I did not realize the WG episode is today.

Hopefully international WFs are alerted to the timing.
