sour throat = bad?

ok when i try to sing for like 3 min.. i get a sour throat.. i am breathing with my stomech though.. :s ( i always breathe with my stomech so im used to it) wads wrong? is it because im developing? im like 16 xD

hmm....do u do vocal excercises???? if u don't, u should start! and always breathe from ur diaphram...that's key too.

and, to soothe and also loosen up the vocals chords/throat.... i always drink hot tea w/ lemon and honey!

Nothing major. Your sour throat would probably and most likely be your stomach acid regurgitating back into your throat at times. Just make sure you drink alot of fluid prior to singing.

Hot tea and honey is actually detrimental to singing. Avoid drinking hot liquids before singing, it really can have an adverse affect on you. Honey isn't going to help too, as it'd just end up being weights on your vocal folds when you sing.

If you need to really clear your throat for any reason, the best and natural way is to consume citrus fruits.
