Report on World Cloud Surprise Event for Rain's 15th Debut Anniversary

28 April 2017 marked Rain’s 15th debut anniversary.  We had plans to celebrate with Rain his crystal debut anniversary with a surprise event at the Nagoya fan meeting, which was held on 27 April, 2017.

 

Our plans included:

 

1.    A video expressing our love and support for our man, with a matching placard.  

 

2.   A donation of 1,500,000 Korean won in the name of Rain to the kids in the welfare centre he visited last year.

 

3.   A 15th anniversary cake (together with Cloud Japan) and a flower arrangement

 

all in the name of Rain’s world clouds.

 

Thanks to the support of fans, we literally received congratulation messages from Rain’s fans across the globe:

We had to edit all messages due to restrictive length of the video, but we managed to include all messages we have received.

 

With the generous contributions from clouds/fan clubs, we bought gift coupons equivalent to 1,500,000 Korean won and presented these to our angelic kids as gifts for Children’s Day:

We couldn’t have achieved this without the great support from all those who contributed.  The kids were very happy with the Children’s Day gifts.  They made a video message for Rain, which we had incorporated into our video.  To protect their identities, we will not show this part of the video publicly.

 

With the contributions we received, we also ordered a flower arrangement which was placed at the entrance of the hall during the Nagoya fan meetings.

 

 

 

 

 

 

Because there were two consecutive fan meetings in Nagoya on April 27, 2017, we split the video into two parts, so that we could maintain some “surprise” element for Rain at both fan meetings.  However our final message to Rain appeared both times.  To reiterate our final message in the video, we had prepared placards which were distributed to all fans (at the first fan meeting only).  All fans would hold this placard to show it to Rain after the video was played.

Our video was played towards the end of both fan meetings.  When Rain said he would sing his final song, instead of playing the music of that song, the screen played our video and our music. It was indeed a surprise for Rain.

 

After the video was played at the first fan meeting, a 15th anniversary cake was brought to the stage and we all held up our placard, with our words: You are still our man!  We want to tell Rain regardless his status, he is, and will continue to be, our man, our prince, our idol, our family. 

 

 

 

 

 

    

There must be a telepathy between Rain and clouds, because Rain also had a video for his fans which was shown in the middle part of the fan meeting.  It was his hand written letter: To my family, from Rain, expressing his great gratitude and thankfulness to his fans who stayed with him for the past 15 years.  Our video responded wonderfully to his letter, yes, we are Rain family, and will always be.

 

Thank you again to all who supported this initiative.  Special thanks to Harudo11 from Cloud Hungary for putting up with all the changes and last minutes rushes in making the final perfect version of the video. The cute and joyful placard was designed by our Japan cloud Sanko san. Japan cloud sisters also helped in selecting a sumptuous 15th anniversary cake and a beautiful flower arrangement. The cake looked so beautifully Rain wasn't sure it was edible^^.  Big thanks to them all, and especially to our world clouds who donated and contributed to make this event possible!

***Ye, I do agree that RAIN is good in action scenes, really good. In NA, Rain's physical condition and skills in the martial arts are really on a higher level. He had the best "badass" in there. Just awesome! They are a treasure! He has this killer gaze that nails every action scene.

However, Rain took his commitment to filming physical scenes to another level. For the fashionistas and those too hipster for your mainstream shops, Orange Street is for you. Once you enter the large gates that read “Orange Street” you will see that there is no doubt that Osaka’s most talented designers have set up shop here. Fashion wise, you will find select shops with designer goods, both international and local. If fashion is not your thing, Orange Street is also home to a large number of furniture shops. Living House Salone is one of many designer furniture shops along Orange St, it has a range of modern furniture as well as a few quirky pieces. Worth a look. OSOKO Shop, this vibrant shop is also the perfect place to pick up some unique, reasonably priced souvenirs. Their range includes watermelon themed flip-flops, pens shaped like flower stems, and an assortment of colourful stationery. All I can say is, Orange Street is somewhere where you can experience a different side of Osaka. Traditionally, they call this Tachibana-touri - There's more on the side streets (along with plenty of cafes). Towards the end of Orange Street you will reach Enjoy Cafe - a small corner cafe surrounded by greenery. It is a traditional Japanese cafe featuring a darkwood interior and offering a delicious lunch set for around ¥1000. It is open for both lunch and dinner.  Aside from all this, Orange Street is also home to bicycle stores and second hand clothing stores. Not only in Tokyo but you can have experienced some of the best boutique shopping that Osaka has to offer. as well.  I had enjoyed my many walks along Orange St during my visit to Osaka some years ago.
