With a media outlet reporting that Rain is currently under police investigation for tax evasion, Rain′s agency strongly denied the report.

Cube DC, Rain’s agency, stated on July 14 through press release, “Channel A’s report regarding Rain evading tax from his overseas income is false and we express our regret over this matter.”

The agency continued, “Cube DC signed legal contracts with the companies that hosted events in China and based on the accurate invoices, and all performance fees were paid through Cube DC’s official bank account.”

The agency also stated, “We’ve completed filing income tax for all events carried out not only in China but for all the performances in and out of Korea. In regards to the artist’s activities in China for performance, events and commercials, there is not one case in which a regular tax report was omitted.”

Cube DC concluded, “If National Tax Services requires documents, we will be providing all related documents. We would like to say one more time that the current investigation has nothing to do with Jung Ji Hoon (Rain).”

Channel A reported earlier on July 14 that ten Korean celebrities, including Jang Keun Suk and Rain, have evaded tax from their overseas income earned from Chinese events and are currently under police investigation.

Jang Geun Suk and Rain Deny Rumors of Tax Evasion

On July 14, one media outlet reported that over ten celebrities, including Rain and Jang Geun Suk, were being investigated for evading hundreds of millions of taxes and bringing in their overseas profits into South Korea by putting them in bank accounts under other people's names to avoid paying a fine for exchanging large amounts of money.

Rain's agency, Cube DC, responded with, "We learned of this obviously false report and felt deep regret towards its content, which is completely unrelated to the truth.  We are on normal terms with the event planning company that oversaw the event casting in China and drew out a legal appearance contract; we then received full payment for the appearance through Cube DC's official bank account with a correct and transparent invoice as the foundation.

In addition, we completed all reports for other profits not only in China but also in all countries to the National Tax Service, and disclose that an occurring or incomplete tax report does not exist.  If the prosecutors or National Tax Service were to request documents from us, we will reveal everything transparently through a report."

Jang Geun Suk's agency, TreeJ Entertainment, told Star News on July 14, "It is not true at all.  At the moment, there needs to be a clear fact check, so we will need to confirm the concrete details.  There was no tax evasion, at all."

RAIN & Jang Geun Seok deny charges of tax evasion






Jang Geun Seok and RAIN announced an official position regarding rumors about tax evasion.

On July 14th, a representative of Jang Geun Seok's management agency said, "The report about Jang Geun Seok's tax evasion that Channel A made is a complete false, and we hereby confirm that Jang Geun Seok was never charged for tax evasion."

The representative added, "All of the tours, fan meetings, and other promotional events were done after legal contracts," and "We confirm that the actor who is getting investigated in charge of tax evasion is not Jang Geun Seok."

A representative of RAIN's management agency also said, "The report about RAIN's tax evasion that Channel A made earlier today is a false report."

The representative of RAIN's agency went on, "Our company signed legal contracts before every promotional events, and we received guarantees based on accurate invoice."

The representative also said, "We have claimed all of the profits from the promotional events, and there is no tax payment that we have not done."

The representative added, "If the National Tax Service require us further documents, we will reply to their requests," and "RAIN is not related in investigations about celebrities' tax evasion that is going on at the moment."

Meanwhile, Channel A's news program reported that 10 different celebrities, including RAIN and Jang Geun Seok, are getting investigations in charges of tax evasion.

Rain in talks to star in new romantic comedy drama 'Song For You'

It looks like Rain could be returning to the small screen through upcoming SBS drama 'Song For You'! 

Insiders revealed that Rain has decided to star in this drama and is in the midst of tuning up the details.  If everything goes well, 'Song For You' will be his first drama in four years and his first romantic comedy since the hit series, 'Full House.'

The drama centers on the music industry, particularly the story of the main female character, who dreams of becoming a singer.  Rain will be playing a producer and the CEO of an entertainment agency, who will have a blossoming romance with the female lead.

Korea's top stars attend the 1st birthday party of Kim Tae Woo's daughter

The first birthday of Kim Tae Woo's daughter became a star-studded party.

On June 29th, the first birthday party of Kim Tae Woo's daughter, Kim Ji Yul, was held at Floating Island, located in Banpo-dong, Seoul.

Comedian Song Jun Geun emceed the event, and a great number of top star, including all of the other members of g.o.d, RAIN, IU, Kim Je Dong, Park Sul Nyeo, Insooni, songwriter Kim Hyung Seok, and T-ara's Hyo Min attended the party.

During g.o.d's 15th debut anniversary concert, which was held in Seoul on July 13th, Kim Tae Woo said, "Today is actually my daughter's birthday," and approximately 14,000 fans sang the birthday song.

Meanwhile, g.o.d are going to hold more concerts in Gwangju(August 2nd & 3rd), Busan(August 15th & 16th), Daegu(August 23rd & 24th), and Daejeon(August 30th & 31st).

Singer and actor Rain is a likely candidate for the new SBS drama "Song For You".

According to his agency, Rain has indeed been offered a role but nothing has been decided yet.

Rain refutes marriage rumors with Kim Tae Hee

Rain denied rumors that he and girlfriend Kim Tae Hee were pondering marriage plans.

"While it is true that the two of them recently got baptized, it was not for the purpose of getting married," said Rain's agency, Cube Entertainment. "There has been no discussion at all about marriage."

A media outlet had published that the two of them had gotten baptized in the presence of family and friends, which led to speculation about their future together.

Rom-coms are very formulaic, so it’s all up to execution in how it will stand out. )

Rain has made several trips to Hollywood this year but in the coming months the singer and actor may be working closer to home. He is considering a return to the small screen in an upcoming k-drama.

Bi Rain, whose real name is Jung Ji Hoon, recently starred opposite Bruce Willis in the Hollywood thriller "The Prince." It's the story of a retired crime boss, played by Willis, who returns to the crime world when his daughter is kidnapped. In the film, which also co-stars John Cusak and 50 Cent, Rain played Willis' friend Mark.

It was not the first Hollywood film for Rain. He made his Hollywood debut in the Wachowski Brothers' "Speed Racer" and also played a leading role in their film "Ninja Assassins." This year Rain also traveled to Hollywood to meet producers to discuss two future film roles.

"The Prince" was Rain's first role since he was discharged from mandatory military service last year. Since his discharge he also released a new album "Rain Effect" plus music videos for two of the songs, "30 Sexy" and "La Song."

The k-drama role he is considering is a romantic comedy titled "Song For You." If he takes it, the comedy would be his first drama role since the 2010 drama "The Fugitive: Plan B." In that drama he played a private investigator accused of murdering his best friend.

Rain's agency Cube Entertainment said that nothing has been confirmed concerning Rain's appearance in the comedy and that he is currently considering more offers.

"Song For You" has been described as a romance between a would-be k-pop singer and the CEO of an entertainment agency. Not only will there be a romance in "Song For You." There will be rivalry among those working at the agency and a fight for control of the company. Rain is considering the role of the CEO, which is fitting, as he knows what it's like to run his own record label. He has a lot of experience in the recording industry. He has released seven albums and 28 singles, but he is also known for his acting in dramas such as "Sang Doo! Let's Got To School" and "Full House." His first Korean film was "I'm a Cyborg But That's Okay."

Park Hyung Gi will produce "Song For You." No Ji Seol will write the screenplay. "Song For You" will air in September, following "It's Okay, It's Love."

Rain recently got baptized at a Catholic church with Kim Tae Hee, his family and friends in presence.

A media outlet reported on July 20 that as Kim Tae Hee’s mother also attended the occasion, the process was part of the preparation for Rain and Kim Tae Hee’s upcoming wedding.

But it has been revealed that Rain had planned on being baptized a long time ago. Kim Tae Hee is well known to be a devoted Catholic as well.

Meanwhile, Rain and Kim Tae Hee became a couple after meeting through a commercial in 2011. They admitted to their relationship last January and became an official celebrity couple.

Singer Rain receives Catholic baptism

SEOUL, July 21 (Yonhap) -- Singer and actor Rain has recently been baptized into the Catholic church following in the footsteps of his Catholic lover, actress Kim Tae-hee, his management agency said Monday.

"Rain has recently received Catholic baptism," Cube DC said, without giving details. "It was planned a long time ago."

   According to other sources in the pop music industry, the baptism took place at a small church in the compound of the Namhansanseong fortress in Gwangju, just southeast of Seoul, with Kim, Rain's family and acquaintances attending. The exact date is unknown.

The move sparked cautious speculations that the 32-year-old singer's marriage with Kim may be imminent.

The two admitted that they were in a romantic relationship in January and have often been spotted together while reportedly on dates.

But Rain's agency downplayed such speculations, saying that the couple has no plans for marriage yet.

"Please don't think marriage is imminent simply because he was baptized," the agency said.
