On November 19, local news agencies report that Rain (Jung Ji Hoon) is involved in some legal trouble regarding his building in Cheongdam-dong and his tenant.

Mr. Park (age 59), who is a tenant in Rain’s Cheongdam-dong building, has sued the artist for fraud. Mr. Park, a high-end lifestyle designer in Hong Kong, stated, “Jung Ji Hoon’s sides are saying that the building lease contract contained the statement, ‘The building may be subject to leaks due to rain.’ However, I have not heard of this nor is it written in the contract so this can count as document fabrication and fraud.”

Mr. Park continued, “At the time, I signed a lease with Jung Ji Hoon but he is saying that the lease has nothing to do with him. The safety deposit and the other money has been deposited into an account under Jung Ji Hoon’s name.”

Rain obtained this Cheongdam-dong building in 2009. Mr. Park paid 100 million won (around 100,000 USD) as a safety deposit and signed a lease for monthly rent of 4 million won (roughly 4,000 USD). However, he has not paid his rent since last September.

As a result, Rain filed a lawsuit against Mr. Park this past January, which led Mr. Park to explain, “Since Rain did not fix the building, my paintings got damaged,” and filed a countersuit of 200 million won in damages.

However, Mr. Park lost his countersuit case in 2011 with the court saying, “The damages that Mr. Park face are from water leakage and the humidity from monsoon season, which does not have a causal relationship with Rain’s obligation to repair the building.” After this verdict, Mr. Park filed a bill of complaint but the court once again ruled in favor of Rain.

Currently, Mr. Park filed a lawsuit once again and the case is currently ongoing in the Seoul District Courts.

Rain faces fraud lawsuit by a tenant who used to rent space in his building

Rain had previously been involved a legal dispute with a tenant in his building located in Gangnam's Cheongdamdong and won; he's now facing another lawsuit on fraud allegations.

News1 reports that according to the Seoul Gangnam Police Department on November 19, a tenant of Rain's Cheongdamdong Building who goes by the name of Mr. Park made a complaint against Rain, accusing him of fraud.

A lifestyle designer for Hong Kong's highest circles, Mr. Park stated, "Rain's side insists that the rental agreement and the lease for the Cheongdamdong building notified that 'Rain / Water may leak into the building,' but I have never heard of anything in relation to this content . . . As this information is not even written in the contracts, this can be considered a crime due to forgery of a private document and fraud."

He also said, "At the time, I entered into the lease with Rain, but Rain insists that he personally has no connection to the lease . . . The security deposit and all payments have been deposited into the account under Rain's name."

Mr. Park had entered into a rental agreement back in 2009 for a security deposit of 100 million won (~ $94,000 USD) and monthly rent of 4 million won (~ $3,800 USD), but had stopped paying the monthly rent starting in September of 2010.

Rain had sued Mr. Park in January of 2011 in relation to that. At the time, Mr. Park claimed that his expensive artwork was damaged from rain storms through a cracked wall in the building. Mr Park said, "As Rain didn't repair the building, he is damaging the art," and sued him for 200 million won (~ $190,000 USD) in damages.

However, in 2011, the Seoul Central District Court decided against the plaintiff in relation to his claim in damages, saying, "There is no direct causal relationship between Mr. Park's damages as caused by water leaks and the moisture from the rainy season and Rain's repair duties."

가수 겸 배우 ‘비’가 아이들을 위해 쌀 화환 6.44톤을 기부했다.

15일 주식회사 ‘드리미’는 비와 팬들의 요청에 따라 초록우산어린이재단에 드리미 쌀 6.44톤(10kg 644포)을 전달했다고 밝혔다.

이날 비가 기부한 쌀 화환 6.44톤은 그의 다국적 팬들이 지난달 12일 비의 팬 미팅에 보내왔던 것으로, 무려 5만 3천여 명이 한 끼를 먹을 수 있는 양이다.

비가 보낸 쌀은 어려운 아이들을 위해 사용된다. 초록우산어린이재단 관계자는 “아이들을 위해 귀한 쌀을 보내준 비에게 감사를 전한다”고 밝혔다.

Singer Rain, who recently got into a legal conflict with his tenant designer Park, has decided to take aggress legal actions against the designer for accusations that had no evidence.

K-pop artist Rain’s agency has released an official statement about Rain’s compensation lawsuit by his ex-tenant.

CUBE Entertainment sent the official letter Tuesady afternoon about the accusation reported to had received through the Seoul Metropolitan Police Agency’s Gangnam Office.

“The charge was concluded last year after Rain won the eviction suit against the accuser. We’ve already given him numerous chances but couldn’t help but decide that we have no further worth of dealing with him who continued to slander Rain using his status as a public figure.”

“The ex-tenant [the accuser] has kept on habitual disgrace on Rain even after accused two times for spreading false information and defamation. This July, Rain withdrew charge with defamation and compensation for damage against him regarding those cases,” the major K-pop agency continued.

The firm went on that, “The tenant, who refused to pay his rent nor eviction, has been busying only to lose Rain’s image through one-sided slander and incoherent accusation. His behavior came to the length of not overlooking anymore, and we decided to do stronger measures against his intended malign against Rain.”

On Tuesday, the ex-tenant who rented Rain’s building was reported to accuse the major K-pop star for a damage suit for two billion Korean Won [189,000 US Dollars].

He claimed that when he signed to rent the building he didn’t hear from Rain’s side that ‘the building has possibility of having leaks in the ceiling,’ which came to harm his paintings. Rain’s parties refuted that they had notified the fact before the rent deal.

The accuser lost the case in 2011 and the same went at the appeal, but he changed the purport of the claim and the case has been dealing at the Seoul Central District Court.
