Lee Soo Young finally opens up about Rain

Regrets about a long lost friendship? or a long lost love? In any case, Lee Soo Young is finally talking about Rain. On “Champagne” last night, Lee Soo Young began telling a blind item story about a friendship that she had with a male hoobae singer back in the day. A close friendship that had started out based on similar hardships and family backgrounds came to an abrupt halt when Lee Soo Young advised her “friend” that the jump from “singer to actor” would not be a good idea. Lee Soo Young continued on to say that her friend’s first drama series ended up becoming a big hit and that he went on to become a “World Star”.

After Eun Ji Won (in his elementary school boy way) blurted out “Ji Hoon!”, Lee Soo Young had to concede that the story was about Rain. Lee Soo Young said that she has not talked to Rain since the incident and that she now regrets giving him the “misguided career advice”. She also continued on to say that she hopes that they can rekindle their friendship in the future.

I, for one, am glad that Rain didn’t listen to Lee Soo Young’s advice about acting because Rain’s first drama, ”Let’s go to school, Sangdoo”, is one of my most favorite dramas ever!!!

She said, "There was a time when I kind of got humiliated by a top star. He was a rookie back then and we talked a lot about life and became close friends. One day, he told me he might go into acting. He was telling me he might be acting in a new drama and asked me if it was a good thing. I told him to not do a drama. Back then, all the singers who went into acting failed and I didn't want that to happen to him. After that, we didn't really talk. To my surprise, his drama did so well and we've never communicated since. And because of that drama, he became a world star."

After hearing the story the MC's and guests asked her if it was Rain she was talking about and she said yes.

Hong Kong airport had lost control due to the fans who congregated to watch world star Rain.

Rain visited Hong Kong last 23rd, to promote his Asia tour 'Legend of Rainism' concert in the country.

Hundreds of his fans at the news Rain would visit Hong Kong, swarmed into Hong Kong international airport, and it was jampacked with them.

Local media reported, "When Rain in sunglasses arrived at the airport, it lost control for a while due to the shouts and the commotion of hundreds of his fans there.

Measuring 18 meters (around 709 inches)12 meters (around 473inches), this huge billboard with Rain's dynamic appearance is drawing the attention of New Yorkers and visitors to the city.

A billboard of Rain's new film "Ninja Assassin" has been hung in New York's Times Square, making him the first Korean to appear on the board for a movie, according to his agency on Friday.

Only Korean companies such as Samsung or LG have been able to advertise themselves in Times Square before.

J.Tune Entertainment said that the billboard -- almost 18 meters wide by 12 meters high -- was hung above smaller billboards for some of Broadway's most famed musicals including "West Side Story" and "Chicago".

The agency said they were informed of the billboard by a Korean residing in New York and received many congratulatory messages on his blog and website.

Rain played the lead role Raizo in the action flick by the Wachowski Brothers, famous for "The Matrix" triology and producer Joel Silver, who created the "Die Hard" and "Lethal Weapon" series.

The film, hyped as one of the 50 most anticipated films of the year by U.K. newspaper The Times and one of the top 10 movies selected by the San Francisco Examiner, is set for a worldwide release on October 26.

Ninja Assassin Billboard in Times Square

A few days ago I pondered if we would ever see Rain / Bi on a big billboard in a big city such as New York City or Los Angeles. Well, that question was quickly answered as Rain's upcoming movie Ninja Assassin has a huge billboard in New York City's famed Times Square.

The billboard is approximately 60 ft. wide by 40 ft. high. This particular billboard location is a prominent one as only blockbuster movies such as Spiderman, Harry Potter, etc. have taken that specific spot. Korean Netizens were surprised by this and the billboard topic became the hottest search item on Korean news portals such as Newsen, Nate, Daum, and others.

Like I mentioned previously, I've seen many advertisements of Ninja Assassin on TV already and it was usually on highly visible programs. Such as highly rated sports programs (NFL and ALCS games), meaning Warner Bros. is spending a lot of money on advertisement.
