Guest iPhets
question: what do you mean by dim sim? we have a variety of "dim sim", first off starts with buns, rolls, etc do you know what you ordered? tell us and then we can answer you (by the way i dont even know if we're on the same page? i call it dimsum, it should be the same thing)
Guest gal-bi
i personally dont think dim sum is a healthy choice for dinner because it is very high in cholesterol, carbohydrates, and it does NOT contain very little or no fiber at all. its something that is good to eat once in a while

Personally I call it 'dim sum'. So, 'dim sum' is the Canto version but the term is used in the US according to: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Dim_sum I think 'dim sims' are these: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Image:Fast_fo...d_soy_sauce.jpg They are deep fried mini meat dumplings. i personally dont think dim sum is a healthy choice for dinner because it is very high in cholesterol, carbohydrates, and it does NOT contain very little or no fiber at all. its something that is good to eat once in a while Definitely. It's not a good choice for dinner. It's mostly deep fried food, no vegies, lots of processed meat/seafood (cholesterol) and very salty. At most, eat it for breakfast/brunch on Saturdays (once a week). ^^
Guest vip_gd
steamed=okay eek! you eat 10 a day !_! like what kind? dim sums are normally unhealthy relatively speaking, chinese food are unhealthy. I tend to eat less of it.
musicbox.
well, it's healthier than fried dim sims I guess @_@.
Guest busagiboo
It's best not to eat that many a day. Even if it's steamed, they're still high in sodium, cholesterol and carbohydrates.
sugarplum892
i dont think its that healthy even though they are 'steamed' because i ate some on a plate and afterwards i put water onto the plate to rinse it and i saw all these oil on the water that was on the plate
Guest TyneeTom
I've never had dim sum before........is it yummy?
Guest forgottenmemories
^Eh, its not that great. Its too oily, it'll give you a headache if you eat too much of it. And I don't think eating 10 buns a day is healthy....I think its ok to have it once in awhile. But everyday? Girl, you're making your cholesterol level rise with all those oil and carbs you consumed. Guest Xiaoba1tu
I've never had dim sum before........is it yummy? It's nice but only good to eat it occasionally. Oh and it depends where you buy it. Girl, you're making your cholesterol level rise with all those oil and carbs you consumed. I think McChicken is a guy.
loversixteen
I remembered eating steamed siu mai for the past the three days and seriously it was high on cholesterol so I don't think it's a good choice for dinner or what time you eat it. At least it's better than the real restaurants who serve it. Just too oily and lots of MSG
Guest Chanellas
It depends on what you get, not how it's cooked.
Guest ah-jefu
I believe that the majority of all the dishes at dim sum places consist largely of meat (or meat wrapped in some noodle). Aside from the fact that Lo Bak cake and Wu Tou Cake is avaliable... they are still fried. Overall, I don't consider dim-sum to be healthy at all. (That's why they serve tea to help stomach the fat )
Guest `lilac;dreams
Definitely not. Even though Siew Mai and Har Kow may be steamed and all, the amount of sodium within Dim Sums is really high. I'm not too sure about the buns though.

cherry@palace
whoa 10 A day!!! wow...wouldn't u feel so so full after eating the 10. Steaming it is healthy than having 10 fried dim sim but still they're not that very healthy at all, let alone eating 10 and every day
