Hi all, latecomer to PoTW. Looks like I missed all the fun last year but still better late than never.

My 2 cents on PoTW : great cast, great story (although it kinda stuttered near the end) with a great infusion of humour and great music. I'm especially impressed with MGY's performance. I knew straight off her char's a girl but then it became more difficult to see the girl in the brash young lad as I continued watching. My brother was completely fooled when he saw the first ep. And he has two "extra" eyes more than me! Good resonance with MCW. I've no particular inclination to either pairing but I thought perhaps the YB/JH tie was stronger while YB seemed to look upon HD more as an older father figure although she did have deeper feelings than that for him. Too bad about YB's foster brother, she never knew his feelings for her.

As to the conclusion .... duuh. Not satisfactory. I felt it was unfinished/incomplete. I do so hate to be left hanging in the air, so to speak. Everyone was swept away, so to speak. And all that is left is dust in the wind. I dunno, I'm kinda hoping there will be a sequel or something, just on YB's further adventures. And a more solid ending.

P.S. I think this drama spoiled it for me. I'm not sure I will be able to accept other SYB versions.

P.S. 2 I'd hate to admit but I think I've gone a llittle cuckoo. I just spent more than 8 hours going through all 141 posts in this thread. And it's .... 4.35 am now. Nuts!!! Just d/l the YB's Heart story. Nicely written from the speed read through I did, figured I'll come back tomorrow night and get the earlier chapters. Frankly, I like PotW alot, MGY and MCW but I've got to get my head on right. *shakes head* It's just as well I'm much much older and know exactly when I will pass the line. heh. Oh yes, I am looking for the Eng lyrics to the songs? I only found one (Song of the Wind), sheesh, it took forever. Might anyone have the lyrics to the other four? .... on the other hand, I guess I'm really tired. I should go dump the Korean lyrics into a translator.

I must be the most belated

Just finished this drama in 2 days and spent another 2 full days rolling through 140+ pages here.

It was like I was travelling through time along those 140+ pages from the first post last year til today to catch up with what you guys up to

And I was sitting at the edge of my seat sweating hoping she would won Daesang, Beaksang and International Drama Award , even though these events have already passed long ago lol and yes she WON ALL!! I'm so happy for her.

I'm so in awe with you guys who have contributed so much in this thread (I can't name you all, there're so many of you ). I join this board and make my first post just to give my gratitude. I'm really appreciated it!

This's probably my first and last post here since I don't have anything to share and you guys have been doing an awesome job already. I will be just a lurker from now on if the thread is still active lol

By the way, POTW just aired in Thailand on 17 Oct I think. But I live in Australia so I don't know how it's like there.

Fans are complaining about VO though. They said JH, or YB I'm not sure, sounds like 60 years old aunty lol

I'm glad I watched subbed version and not dubbed lol

Too bad it was aired too late or MGY would have won the Baeksang popularity award that she lost by 0.01%

I'm sure Thai fans would vote for her big time.

Also, POTW is my first k/j/t drama ever lol I'm not into drama at all

I thought she's just a child actress who came back on screen after big break or something.

it's so fantastic and inspired me to review so many times coz with the good production and interesting events ,

the stars in this film are so much gorgeous -- i give 2 thumbs for 2 Muns yeah including 1 Park and surely 0ne King!!!

Though one year passing but now airing in Thai tv ,POTW 's fans feel alert and most of them turn to be in hard stream of 2 Muns again!!!!

I just finish watching this drama yesterday and I really love it!!!

I've spend my weekend to finish this drama and it's really worth it because I can feel all the emotions like i'm in the drama

I cry, laugh, angry, excited together with the character...

good story, good acting, good music...

Eventhough I'm quite dissapointed with the ending, i try to accept it by creating my own ending in my head (of course happy ending...so funny rite!)

I would like to congratulate MGY for a very convincing acting as a boy (i don't think any other women actress can play this character well other than MGY)

Her acting makes me think that she's really a boy!! (cute boy...hahaha)

that's make MGY deserve to win the award as best actress for this year!!

As a kdrama lover...this drama will have a special place in my heart

I just watched this series and falling in love with MGY really(4 yrs ago,i like her in "My little bride" but now really love ), so i surf the internet for gallery's the painter of the wind, deep details about JH/YB etc...

I found chinese web,korean web,unfortunately, i can't read these language.Then I found this web which is very useful to me.

If I go to korea again, I will not miss to buy MGY book collection, her CD etc...

PS: I think I satisfied the end of this series because I have seen a lot of romantic movies that have the end like not end(but you can guess by yourself)

Did a bit of jumping around yesterday. I found I had no Adobe Reader! I don't have the habit of reading anything with AR so I guess it was an oversight when I got my current rig. And of all things, I could not download the program! Couldn't work my way around it, despite disabling this and that. At best, it's a recog issue within IE. In the end, I bought a PDF conversion program.

I really appreciate all the efforts put into translating Sue's PoTW sequel but I have to say a few sentences don't make any sense. *scratches head* Too, there are also repetitive phrases. Especially when it comes to the sad parts. Too much crying and spacing out! Some of the names are still in Chinese for the last few chapters, that confused things up a bit, along with the geographical descriptions. But both stories by Sue are well written nevertheless. However, I could not help but re-edit the story. umm... no offense meant to the translators. Apologies.

hello guys, i am thinking *still thinking* about going to Korea in November later this year.. Would like to view some of our Hyewon's paintings... but I recall reading an article that his/her(? ) is being kept under some sort of a collection and is not displayed continously. In fact, it was displayed last year was also because of the drama and the museum only opens twice a year!

Anybody knows elsewhere that I could view...?

I finally finished the re-edition of FengMiYiGe 's POTW sequel (with her permission), English version. There's still some things to tidy up, a few stuff I actually want to add in. I gave it a prologue and epilogue.

I am another belated fan, just finished watching the drama 2 days ago. This is definitely one of my fav k-drama.

I loved the way the arts are presented, how there's a story behind every painting, the relationship between YB-JH and most importantly the awesomeness portrayal of YB by MGY, she's so cute.

I'd love to see MGY and MCW co-starring again in another film, not neccesary as a couple, can be best buddies. There's a great chemistry between them, better don't stop it.

FengMiYiGe 's POTW sequel, revamped English version is finalised. There will be no more changes/additions as of today. I have included the barest references of the mapping missions done by Shin Yunbok for King Jeongjo. Just couldn't resist adding bits of history in it.

My goodness...glad to see this thread is still alive and kicking. It's been a year...how time sure does fly by! POTW is definitely the last drama I enjoyed and actually took part in the drama thread for, however nothing else has filled in that saeguk void.

Either way, just stopped by to say "hi" I hope MGY will take part in a new drama for 2010. MCW has been busy with other contemporary dramas, but nothing as good as the chemistry she had with MGY!

I don't really like contempory dramas unless it's choked full of interesting facts. Otherwise I always get bored to tears. No pun intended. If both ladies do another historical drama, yeah, I'll watch it. It would be fun if they play opponents. Well, something different for them to display their acting talents.

In the meantime, I'm flipping a fanfic of mine which I'll like to share with POTW fans. I find it kinda of a joke, or rather, the most oft used word : lame. Yeah, my nephews' favourite word. But still, I have fun with it. It's still undergoing editiing but the entire story is roughly there.

I am still working through You're Beautiful - just when I hear it's ending. But I do like a Hong Sisters' drama.

Haha, I was running over my list of to-get dvds for this month and I was thinking, ok, why not a Korean movie? I don't own one. Thus far, I only saw two K-movies. The most recent was Lee Young-ae's (sp?) movie about ...er a tale of a woman's revenge. Such a drastic change from DJG!

Anyways, I was trying to remember what was the first one. I remember there was something about women and painting too! And it was the Korean version of Dangerous Liaisons. Then of all things, I started thinking, that's not about SYB was it???! Sacrilege! Because I remember the movie was stamped with a N-16 rating. ahhh....!

And then I found it ... Untold Scandals. And it's not about SYB. Shhessh, the moment I think of Korean painting, I start thinking of SYB.
