MBC Global's English name for this drama is "Moon River", perhaps use that name as keyword search

since the first scene was in today's setting. Ilwoo didn't say a word, yet, he's really

Moving on, I watched the intro of Ep01. It's really different from the SBS version

I just skipped through the episode and I thought the beginning was rather strange. Do they want to say, that even in his next lives, Iljimae continued to help people? Have to say that I'm not to fond of this mixture between the present/past.

Could also explain what's up with the little boy/teacher? So they live in a time after Iljimae and they symbolize how people still looked up to him and remained in the people's memories, even after he died? I have to admit, that I'm confused at the moment.

Erm, also I have to say, that I didn't like some of the music in the first episode, like the (cheesy) background music when they gave that overview.

Otherwise, the first episode was nicely done, even though I can't understand Korean, so my opinion is at that point pretty superficial. Ai, can't wait to see the next episode!

Oooh soo.. Perhaps his adoptive parents wanted him to get married to their daughter? Is that it? Iljimae is engaged to his "sister." I just wonder how she is a princess.. he was adopted by a royal family?

Yea "Yang Parents" mean "adoptive parents." From the looks of it, their clothes look really elite as well. That's weird, in the character description, it says GulChi the beggar takes Iljimae in and cares for him. Perhaps, he just acts as a father figure then and follows him to Korea, maybe he gave Ilimae to the Chinese family because they were better off.

By the way, can someone tell me how many eps this is supposed to be?!

here's my guess... lol

iljimae was taken in by a couple considered noble class and while he was raised there, he was arranged to marry a princess who is part of royalty. <shrug> of course i could be off . haven't watched the first episode yet.
