Hi hwonhwon, I like this hairstyle too, but I think it looks too wealthy if that makes sense. Moon Kang Tae struggles to support himself and his brother on his meager salary so his appearance will be less polished.

I don't fully understand the whole story, but the gist is 2 weeks before the new recruit training was about to end, all the major army divisions tried to recruit KSH to join their team. The training center also tried to persuade him to take on an assistant instructor position. The author of the story is part of the tactical vehicle team (I don't know the actual term, but I'm guessing it's a division that manages and maintains the army vehicles) and their team lead also tried to recruit Soo Hyun. In order to attract Soo Hyun's attention, they sent one armored car and three other vehicles and parked them near the shooting range where Soo Hyun was practicing, hoping their shiny vehicles would pique his interest. The author even said he resented his team lead and KSH at that time because it was so cold out and they waited for him more than 2 hours. But in the end Soo Hyun joined the search team so their attempt failed.

I don't know anything about Bae Yong Joon's fee and had to google it. It was reported his fees were ₩250 million per episode, which is 210k USD, not 250k. Based on your calculation, KSH's ₩200 million should be equivalent to 200k USD and not 167k.
Not trying to nitpick here, but I just want to point out how easy it is to miss details and sometimes facts are distorted due to lack of knowledge or poor reporting, especially when it comes to entertainment news.
As a fan, I don't care if his fees are the highest or not, I'm just happy to see him act again.

Hi willenette, I think it's because of his contract issues with KE, he didn't accept any filming projects before signing with his new agency. The cameo appearances are his way of showing gratitude to the PD and writer of YWCFTS, who he has a great working relationship with. It's also a good way to cure the acting itch and meet with the audience again. We are also dying to see him on screen again, so it's a win-win-win situation.

Hi Jacel, the ModeTour FM is not his first official fanmeet after the military. It is a promotional event for ModeTour where he is the spokesperson. The promotion includes four packages with price points of (A) 888,888 KRW, (B) 688,888 KRW, (C) 288,888 KRW, and (D)188,888 KRW. Packages C & D, which do not include accomodation, sold out within a few hours. Packages A & B (~$600-$800 USD) include 2 nights of hotel accomodation, so Koreans are not the target market for those packages. This event is to promote ModeTour, not Kim Soo Hyun. The outcome of the event will not "make or break" his comeback. He is just the endorser, he or his agency does not set the price or venue of the event. Just like if the product a celebrity endorses does not generate good sales, it may affect their contract renewal with the brand, but it does not affect their careers.
Being a fan for five years, I've come to accept he is not like his peers when it comes to fan service and his choice of work (which I find a good thing). He is not going to rush back to the limelight after the military, he is not going to regularly update his social media or accept interviews to remind people he is still here, nor will he only work with famous writers and directors. Maybe because he already experienced what it is like to be at the top and it is time to shift focus. He acted in crowd pleasing roles, accepted tonnes of CFs and flew all over the world for promotional events and shoots, attended numerous award ceremonies, topped the various polls, etc. He had nonstop exposure and that was the life of an idol, not a real actor. I would be ecstatic if he holds a true fan meeting in the future, but wouldn't hold my breath for it. I am more excited at what actor Kim Soo Hyun has to offer in his future projects.
