I am very very very angry with the writers. They did very well until ep 37, everything completely collapsed with me.
SpoilerToday ep 41-44: the keyword "GBMP writer" is climbing the top 13 hot search weibo ! Because the two details have been modified:
- LCY used to have feelings for SS- XF remembers mistaking GXW as GJ, GJ does not deny and claim to be GXW.
What's with the script writer?

I just remember there are 2 still cuts that had LCY & GP with Mi Luo when they'r in Western State. Based on the costumes they wear, this is the scene where LCY told BP that he was going to kill the King wolf white eyes.

Yes, I went to weibo and saw a lot of fans complaining about the editing and the relationship between LCY and SS. As a result, the douban point is now only 7.4, which is really unfortunate for the drama that could have been better.

After watching 4 ep yesterday, I have some thoughts to share
SpoilerI really like LCY's drama. There may be many people who say writers have "whitewashing" LCY or saying LCY, not as cruel and dangerouss as LCY's novel. But in the novel, the character LCY is only through the POV of XF, so it is just a subjective look. The drama actually exploits many aspects of this character and the inner development of the character I find is very reasonable, very practical when put in LCY's position.
But there is one thing I don't like about the LCY character's change in the drama compared to the novel. That is the relationship of LCY with SS. We all know SS is a tool for LCY to take advantage of the throne of the Crown Prince. In the novel, LCY has no affection for SS other than taking advantage of her. But in the drama, apart from LCY taking advantage of SS, LCY really care about SS. The scenes of LCY visiting SS, LCY kneeling to Queen to forgive the SS really made me confused about his feelings for the SS. Is it fake or honest ?
The reason for such a change was because in the novel, the Gao family and Zhao's family colluded on harming LCY's mother, so both of them died by LCY in the end. In the drama, Zhao's family has helped LCY to the crown prince. That's why I understand that there is a change between the relationship of LCY and SS on the drama. Even so, I still don't like it.
However, to ep 37, LCY told the GP that SS is his person, "the one who love him" needs to be protected by him. After slapping XF, LCY told GP that "I am the useless Prince. I cannot protect the one I love, I cannot protect the one who love me too" What LCY say here means "the one I love" is XF, "the one who love me" is SS. The image of LCY came to beg the Queen to forgive the SS for showing his helplessness, restraining his power in the Eastern Palace, showing his anger when he himself could not do what he wanted to do.
Ep 38, when LCY was jealous of GP after GP went out with XF. LCY made an impact on the King to give marriage to GP and the princess. GP told LCY that he already knew this would come, no matter who the marriage would be, he would be 相敬如賓 (this means the marriage couple "treat each other with the same respect as guests") with that person. . LCY said happily, "I don't want to 相敬如賓 with XF, I want the two of us to be deeply in love and love each other." That means LCY only "相敬如賓" with SS, the relationship is respect for each other as for guests. As for XF, LCY wants to give her the deepest love.

I still don't watch full ep but saw some cut on weibo, i think a lot of sweet scene were cut & shortened
In addition, the keyword "不是你想的那样" (Not as you think) has trend top search weibo this morning. That is XF's line in this scene. This shows the popular of GBMP during this time in China

If you put yourself in his position, you can understand his action. All is LCY's acting & he did that to protect XF.
Although I understand his actions, I'm still really annoyed by his slap with XF even after reading the novel.

Yeah, At first when I watched the trailer, I really didn't like CXX because I didn't see the character of LCY in him. But CXX's acting is getting more and more progressive, and he actually did too well with this role with all aspects. Acting serious, he's really serious. Acting emotion, he's really affection. Actually CXX is 96 lines, he does really well and can convey complex characters like LCY.

LCY knew that the spying maid was from the queen. He had to act like he was forced to be there because SeSe asked him to come in front of the spy. XF was sad when she heard that LCY didn't come on his own but only because SeSe asked him to.

It was a trap to test who LCY really likes. The maid read out that the person who put abortion medicine claimed that it was XF who told her to do so. XF denied strongly, but had no basis. If LCY had defended XF, the queen could have just blamed it squarely on XF.
Then, when the queen saw that LCY did not defend XF, she assumed that XF was not a threat and said that it was SeSe who was the mastermind behind the whole scheme to blame XF. Then LCY pleaded strongly, showing contrasting treatments between his 2 wives, which got the queen even more irritated with SeSe.
What I find most regretful is that XF until death still does not know the purpose of LCY's actions is to protect her, still not knowing LCY's true love is for her, haizzzz

I really like XF's character. She is really kind and considerate. Despite how LCY treats her, she tries not to interfere with LCY and Sese believing that they truly love each other. From the preview, the writers might have separated LCY getting really drunk and then being sick into two separate events happened at different times. The drunken state happened in ep 39 (but before getting stabbed) later than he being sick in ep 37. So, may be this scene is one of those fight scenes on the bed before getting stabbed.
The drunk scene is when LCY and XF were locked in a room by Grandma to make consummation (Grama give LCY aphrodisiacs lol ) It and LCY's illness were two separate scenes in the novel.

SpoilerThe maids talked about the close relationship between XF and GP. They asked SE (LCY's personal attendant) if XF and GP had known each other since Western State. SE told LCY again and he was angry. He is jealous but only that, because he knows GP is very loyal to him. Ep 34 he came and said he wanted to sleep with XF. LCY asked he is her husband, he has children with other but why XF is not angry. LCY angry in this situation is so cute.
In the novel, the author also implies that GP has a crush for XF, so like the drama.
LCY slapped XF because Xu Niang miscarriage. The queen plotted to blame Se Se. LCY slapped XF because he thought she done this but wanted to blame Se Se. It's his acting to protect XF.

At least I want the XF to know that it's not really LCY's intention to slap her. Sadly, by the end, XF still didn't know LCY's true love was for her.

Unfortunately, they also have lots of skinship scenes that make viewers uncomfortable.
Why is the writer writing unnecessary things that make the love story of XF and LCY so superficial. Obviously, in the novel, because they only have each other in their hearts, it makes their love story more tragic than ever.
Why do writers do like this ???
I hate GJ characters from novel to drama, a kind of hateful 2nd character.
