@delroyB ~ definitely; forgotten love sounds more in line with the theme and much more poetic. and have to agree with you that everyone is flawed and to define them by their actions in one act would be to pigeon hole them into a box. they are much more complex. in the same way, HK isn't a victim just because she got cheated on. to just see her as only a victim is a bit of disservice -- she is more than that with many layers and yes, she too did many questionable actions as a lawyer. she was a great lawyer because she was ruthless. one can question if one can be compassionate and be good lawyer seeing that BS is not very good...and she is smart enough to make her own choices when she gets her memories. even without them, she is taking risks and chances on where she wants to go. she is not someone who can be easily manipulated.

think it is interesting because we often think cheating occurs because love died in the relationship and so for some it is difficult to swallow that JE loved HK or still loves her. however, JE never fell in love with SR ~ sure he had his fun with her and mentored her but he was never in love with her.

the title really makes me wonder who the writer had in mind because it really can be applied to anyone in the drama:~

MH ~ mama choi (graduated from mistress to wife, so lover #x), GN (lover #y)

GN ~ first she was living with twins papa (so her lover #1) and then later fling with MH (lover #2)

TS/JR ~ he dumped his girlfriend for JR; continues to have flings

BS ~ his lover in his mind is YK2

SR ~ her lover in her mind is JE

JE ~ had a fling with SR; now he is in love with HK. so who is lover?

HK ~ the love of her life is JE. but she has an undefined friendship with BS. so is BS her lover? is JE her lover?

YK ~ her lover was her boyfriend/husband who died.

want to know the connotation of the word lover in korean and whether it means differently from english. is lover someone you love or in love with or have a relationship with or (like in english) a sexual connotation with rarely an emotional connect. in my language, the word "lover" refers to someone you are in love with or seeing and has the same vibe akin to girlfriend/boyfriend. what is it like in other languages, am curious. do folks want to share?

This is an excerpt from Ji Jin-hee's recent interview:

"This drama is about loving one woman in the end. I love Hae-kang, Baek Seok (Lee Kyoo-han) loves Dok-go Yong-gi and Sully loves me. Here, the word 'lover' means the person I love. Jin-eon didn't like the way the innocent Hae-kang he first fell in love with, turn into a devil. His emotions started from guilt".

  2. @ninaanin and @DelroyB : --- Yes! I must admit that HK has acted monstrously!  The Writer had to drag me kicking and screaming to this point!  (kind of ---   :sweatingbullets: ).    Are we going to put her sins/crimes on the scale and weigh them against JE's ?

Has he earned sainthood in there someplace, when I wasn't looking?  For example, where was he when Pudoxin was being tested, then put out for sale?  I think his are sins of omission!  What did he do to protect HK? Or to guide and support her as she developed into the Corporate Lawyer that she was in the end?   She thought he was her Rock, her Lighthouse (all that she told him BS had been for her).  He was nothing when she needed him. No different then she was to him, when he needed her!

    WOW... Let me cool down!

As far as I remember, Jin-eon had nothing to do with his father's company at the time Pudoxin was being tested and then put out for sale, thus I can't see how he would have been able to know and prevent it.

Even Man-ho wasn't aware of its side effects, since after the conversation Jin-ri had with Hae-gang in the hospital, she confronted Tae-seok all worried about what could happen if her father found it out.

As for what Jin-eon did to protect, guide and support Hae-gang as she was turning into a monster, well, we still have good many episodes to get those answers.

  3. Random thoughts:

HK was a peace of work.   JE was bad because he chose to cheat.   HK also chose the life she lead at that time.

JE was not a trust fund baby who needed expensive things.  He could work on his own and did not need his parents approval.  JE also took care of HK becoming a lawyer.  HK did not need to work for the company to pay JE dad back.  She freely choice to work for the company and she choice the methods she used to protect the company.   Heck she explained her strategies   to the BIL after the trail.   HK desired power and wealth and used whatever methods to acquire them,    She wanted JE to have status in the company not something he was after or needed.   She was willing to push his work to the company something JE did not want.

HK was an uber B**h which had nothing to do with being a successfully career woman but one that uses any an all means to achieve her goals no matter who it helps or hurts.   It like people paint all  capitalist with same brush.  Being a captain of industry and being a robber baron  are two different things.  It has to do with the methods that are used.

An unchanged HK would make a great villain in another drama.   At the same time she was also a wife who loved her husband.   She was wronged by a a man who cheated on her.

That win at all cost and seek family approval may have become worst after her child death.  I think she turned more to the family because JE who she had always gotten unconditional support was turning on her.   While JE dad saw here as useful tool to further the company.   Also as said JE view of HK was  wrapped at the time.   Affair or not that marriage was withering on the vine and need either someone to renew it or it need to be cut.

JE is slowly coming to see what he did wrong and how he treated his wife.

Now HK most a regain her memory and also reflect on who and how she was at that time.   Once she regains everything then maybe they can start anew or maybe they will remain apart.

HK  also need to grow and to do that she need to fully know who she is.

Just like the label cheater is not everything JE is.

The Label Executioner is not everything HK is.

Both of them can only move forward when they both can honestly and truthfully deal with the true cause behind that divorcé which is the death of thier daughter.

I logged in just to say how I agree with your post!!

I can't see JE as the cheater, as I don't see HK as the "executioner". In this sense, if we exclude JE's affair and consequent behaviour towards HK, what do we have? I should say a man that has many qualities. And if we exclude HK's suffering from the affair (before accident and memory loss), what did we have? A person who I wouldn't like to cross my path with in special if I was in opposite sides, one as you said would make a wonderful vilain in another drama. When I look at it and try to see it in a very objetive way, I can't see why JE's sin is more reprehensible and has to get more suffering than all the pain HK's inflicted on others. If JE's "destroyed" HK with his behaviour, didn't HK's actions destroy many others lives? Doesn't she also deserves to be punished for her wrongdoings? I'm not saying JE didn't make somethink awfull, I'm saying that what HK did can be seen as worst than what he did.

This is why I think that what will make the now HK/YK2 suffer more isn't JE's affair and actions, but her own cruel actions. And I think, it was because she was concious of her own actions  and knew JE very well that she understood JE's actions then and it will be because her own actions in the past (and JE's love of course) that she will forgive JE's in the present.

I have a theory: I think that one of the themas of the drama is that of "reciprocity" - if you acted wrong towards someone, you will recieve your punishment even if it isn't from the person who you inflicted it. So, maybe I will be "bashed" here (lol), but I think that if we count the amount of pain JE and HK inflicted on others, HK has many more sins to purge/pay than JE. Therefore, my idea is that HK did begin to pay her sins through her daughter's death and JE's affair, and will pay more (because this is drama); JE did begin paying first through his daughter's death (the authour here antecipating his sin) and after that with all the suffering he is geting and will get till the end. All this, imo, is entangled in the mains themas. Save YK1 and the children, I don't think there is any innocent character here: all are flawed, all make bad choices and wrongdoings; some can be redeemed, some don't. To me then, I think HK and JE are amonsgt those who can be redeemed.

I couldn't agree more with both @DelroyB and you, @ninaanin!

    You're welcome  @Iclarakl :)

JE knew the danger is more pronounced when he received faxes(info below) about 2 incidents where YK was being attacked, within the span of 2 weeks, That's why alarms bells rang re 'danger for YK2 as YK', and JE went to YK2's office, and offered to take her home safely. But YK2 told JE to go and check on SR instead. And told JE that SR was with her a while ago and didn't seem to be in her right mind.

This scene was after JE had visited BS at his office earlier and had asked BS how and when he found YK2. And also warned BS about looming dangers to YK2, for living as YK. JE said he is quite certain that YK2 is his wife HK. But BS didn't affirm the truth he knows. Instead, BS told JE that this time again, JE would not be able to find HK, he will not find her.

BS is not oblivious of danger to YK2. YK has told BS about her fleeing to china cos of danger. BS knew YK was a whistle-blower. BS is aware of the danger to YK2. He in fact told JE that he is protecting YK2. BS told JE to instead think about the danger coming from his family, and MPC, and that JE should preempt the danger coming from them.

I'm just baffled that for 4 years. BS didn't look into the background about how YK2 ended up in that accident, who was behind it and what actually happened. Now 4 years later, the info exists and is easily available, like when JE investigated, and when YK2/HK herself went to the police station to check(about those 2 assault incidents). OR is this another writernim's loopholes?

I agree with everything you stated in the post, but personally, I would like Jin-eon to have followed Yong-gi2 no matter what, even without her knowing it. To me it would have shown his true care for her.

I also hope he didn't go to check on Seol-ri as Yong-gi2 suggested...

  5. @jadecloud, LOL!  I think it is most insulting to compare BS to Jessup.  BS is not a killer.

My opinion is based on the sincerity I see in his character no matter how flawed.  If you found a child who had suffered child abuse, would you just return him to the parents?  That is how I see the conflict BS is facing.  The love he has for YK2, is preventing him from just returning her to her former "place".

Actually, @jadecloud didn't compare Baek-seok and Jessup. She compared the particular aspect of their mindset, which was highlighted...

Ohhhhh thank you chingu @ayselluna. Exactly! :)

    Don't mention it! :)

CR: @irilight for ep 21 SR and HK's scene

Finally, we get to hear from SR herself on why she became the third wheel.

SR to YK2 whom she now knows to be HK:

You dislike me. I dislike you too. I'm afraid of you, the you who could eat me up. the you who could make me suffer another breakdown, why again? Aren't you the one who first started it? You are the one who first despised me, who first looked down on me, as if you are a noble being, a perfect one. You trampled on my heart. You disregarded me. I hope you will disappear from the face of this earth. I really wish that you'd just disappear. I hope you are DEAD!.

What I gathered from SR's speech: she prob just thought of having a crush on JE and nothing more. But HK came by one day and was being rude and disrespectful to SR. That made her mad and made her feel like trash. SR suffered a breakdown. With that wounded mindset, SR set out to seek her revenge against HK. What is a sweeter revenge than to steal her husband from her?

Wow! Quite a revelation to me, the motivation of a person when one's pride is being trampled, and one is being despised and disregarded as nothing. Anyone with a different take? or similar?

    Absolutely agree with your take!

, Thank you!!!  I can say it hasn't been fun to being able to come and go as I please.

Sorry, @Iclarakl, I didn't quite understand your statement. Could you clarify it, please?

@ayselluna, I can understand why it caused confusion--I left off a word or two .  I was basically saying that after having surgery, I'm not been able to move about as freely as I would like.

    Oh, I see.

    Sorry to hear that.

May God bless you with perseverance!

  9. Does anyone think that it was maybe SR that had someone stab YK2?  The only reason I say this is TS wanted YK dead, he already messed it up once.  Does it make since that he would not make sure there was no chance of survival.  It's risky attempting to kill someone by just stabbing them in the stomach once in the hope that they'll bleed out. SR seemed fake shock like she wanted to see it be done.  Maybe not though. It just seemed sloppy, amateurish, and personal more so than an attempt by someone who had already failed once in killing her.

I have been wondering about that too.

Also, in the 4 years Yong-gi2 has been with Baek-seok, there has already been a threat on her life, when a person from her past hit her on the head with a rock.

Could it be the same person, or could it be another victim of Hae-gang's ruthless treatment as a lawyer, who stabbed her out of revenge ?

  10. You know a drama is damn good is when you start having dreams of the upcoming episodes. Seriously, it's 1:58 in the morning and just got up after dreaming about HG meeting her twin. Ughh.....The anticipation for future episodes is killing me. I really want to find out how HG will regain her memory (and in what episode) as well as meeting her twin and her mother. And then to think about the doctor who is confused that HG and YG is one person. When and how will he find out the truth. But I do have to say this: Kim Hyun Joo is one lucky and beautiful lady. She gets to play two characters who'll probably end up with JE and the doctor (perhaps a kiss with the doctor too). heheheh.

I thought I was the only one

@cliff_heaven -- I dreamt about IHAL upcoming episodes too. LOL the fanfiction inside of us unleashed during our nap. I am so addicted right! They were like in the MOUNTAINS and they are hiking. Lol. Night came pretty early. So to be safe they stayed LOL. Other details are blurry, but I just know that even my subconscious thinks of one thing. Too good this drama... :-D

Doctor is a hot stuff. See em biceps? Shoulders? Forearms? Oh, Kim Hyun-joo better do your work done properly. We're rooting for you! Omg yeeees, you just made me realize that she can have intimate scenes with BOTH actors [Doctor and Jin-eon] in a very legal way. She's two characters, for goodness' sake!

    Meanwhile, I'm in-love with Choi Jin-eon.

You can count me in :)

  11. ...................

MY QUESTION:...Does JE have a problem putting his feelings into words?  Or does the Writer have a problem writing dialogue for a guy?

EDIT:... An example of one of JE's RIDDLES:---- in the "flashback" in Epi. 7 JE asks the question of HK:

"What do you think is the difference between our love back when we were just dating and our love now?"

The answer?  "Our love while first dating was like the First Snow---I missed you and I was going crazy"  (???)    "Our love now is like the Last Day of Snow ---I'm cold, but the snow is warm. You feel emotional & everything feels precious."

NOW WHAT THE HECK DOES THAT MEAN ?   cAN ANYBODY EXPLAIN TO ME WHAT HE IS TALKING ABOUT?    As i look over those early episodes, JE has said more than I first realised.  But i'm at a loss figuring out what he is really trying to say.  That is another big "hole" in the drama for me.

@mdj101 ~ you would have to ask some of the men here in this thread if men like to talk in riddles. kekeke.. but think some men do! as for the riddle example you asked, here's a question -- do you live in place or have lived in a place where it snows?

remember my first experience with snow -- it was exciting and fun; then time passes and you get used to winter and snow no longer excites you. it is just means being cold, getting wet while walking to school. but the last day of snow comes and even though it feels cold, the snow does feel warm. you know that spring is coming and there is a sense of nostalgia that another winter has come and gone. it is weird but there is sense of time passing which can make you feel nostalgic even as you look forward.

so based on that, would say JE is saying just that. at the beginning of the relationship, it was all excitement. but now, that phase has gone and they are no longer in the first flush of love but it is still warm. they are ready to start a new life (she was pregnant in ep 7 flashback) and so their life is changing. spring is coming. but they have this little time in between to enjoy the transition and everything feels precious... not sure if what am saying makes sense but basically he is giving that nostalgia vibe that one gets when we look forward and back at the same time.

It couldn't have been expressed any better!

  12.

If HK remembers the first 9 episodes i.e., those 3 months, why would she go back to JE?  Is looking like JJH a good enough reason?

Their husband or boyfriend or lover having or had an affair (slept with other women, been intimate ) - is one of the hardest blow for any woman to take.  Well each woman is different in handling this, some are forgiving and some will never will.

Since this is a drama and obviously HK and JE is the OTP...there's a chance of course that HK will take him back again.

I'm curious on how the women in this forum deal with that kind of situation though....

Will you be the • Forgiving type  or • The one who will not forgive?

My personal POV on this is.....

    Totally agree with you, @berny!

POLL #5 - WHO WILL KNOW TRUE ID OF YK2=HK, FIRST? WHEN? HOW?

NOTE: POLL DEADLINE IS WHEN BROADCAST OF EP 21 STARTS.

    http://goo.gl/forms/VMKNzXBaee

    CR: @chubbychub1966

AIGOOOOOO There should be a poll on will JE discover YK2 is HK first or will YK2 realise she is HK first?

LOL you got it chingu...coming up :) Good idea!

I saw this on page 201 and I haven't read the recent pages so I dont know if this has been cleared but anyways I need to ask you one thing. doesn't the preview shows SR meeting YG and her daughter, so the answer will be SR obviously right. or maybe you meant anyone other than SR and BS.

    Right.

This is why the names of Baek-seok and Seol-ri are not included on the list.

  14. How could the main male lead be shooting two dramas at the same time?  Does that mean JJH was no longer required in the I have a Lover?  Did they kill off JE?

The shooting for that two-episode drama started back in the middle of July, and it's already been a while since it was completed...

  15. I have asked this question previously on this forum but didn't get a reply, who taught the Beak siblings how to love as their method of loving the partner's so exhausting on the object of affection and very psychotic, they always want to have object of their affection in their sight and feel uneasy whenever they don't know where they are, even criminals locked up in prison have more breathing space as the prison warden and guards are forever not watching a particular individual compared to people in a relationship with the Beak's.

I use to think that Beak daddy was normal but even him seems like a freak as I can't understand what he is thinking when he goes to add pressure on HK knowing fully well that she has feeling for JE, is he in his right mind or does he think that as long as he manages to get HK and BS in a committed relationship, the dynamics of their relationship will automatically change and HK would somehow magically have feeling for BS as if been in a committed relationship has anything to with the feelings between two people.

    Just love your comment!!!))))))))
