  1. Regarding the 1st ep: in the very beginning of 1st ep TH says that SN is 귀비 at the moment. 귀비 (gwibi) is the 1st rank woman in harem. If I understand their ranks correctly, the gwibi is even higher than Lady Park now. So SN should be already his wife, probably even with a heir.

Thanks for that clarification. So she is the 1st among all concubines, right?

I want to see how she becomes a concubine. Will she dance?! Hopefully not the same dance that Lady Park did. =))

If she's already a 1st rank concubine, then she and WY would have been separated for months at least before that 1st episode, 1st scene. She won't become an Empress in a matter or days with all the people wanting power around TH.

  2. rinchan76 said: I know episode has been mentioned a lot in this forum but, I just realized when we saw the first opening scene SN was his consort, or there was an error in translation so she was already married to TH and she was just getting her title as Empress. So now I am even more curious about the time line of things, and what we will actually be able to see. I am also really curious about what will break WY-SN up, I know they are the type but I really don't want to see that noble idiocy stuff.
And about the pics that were just released.....I think the writer is just tricking people right, didn't they just get together. WY is probably off to do some political side mission and the mean time SN should just go look for that blood letter......maybe  :-\"

  3. In the preview, when ET asked WY what does he want, WY replied: Reinstate me as King of Goryeo. But ET seemed to reply (well previews can be deceiving): I won't let a Tiger have wings.

Does this mean, ET won't reinstate WY?
If yes, then WY would have to find another way to get Goryeo back. Maybe they will really search for the blood letter at this time.
    :-/ :-/ :-/

And the "goodbye" pictures. It's probably just WY going to Goryeo village and SN left behind. She still has the hairpin!
    ;););)

I kept thinking if this was the movie Scream, Tana would be meeting a knife on her back. It was a little creepy especially the way SN was looking at her. Not that i blame her. That delulu arrogant brat does need that smile to be wiped off her face.  >:)
And did SN said that she was off to meet the Empress again when WY was waiting for her to see her answer to his proposal? I wonder why she was meeting her.

  5. @ChelseaS

Yes, I have no doubt that Jocho is smart. Maybe he is just watching BS. I would be really disappointed if BS has one up on him and find the blood vow.

The crazy lady gave SN all the pieces to the puzzle hope she figures it out.

Ugh me too! BS getting lucky (for the nth time) and finding the blood vow would be too much! Is he ever going to die?! I hope SN figures it out but the fact that BS is the only one always around Jocho is making me nervous!

  6. Is Jocho so out of it that he has not recognize BS for the spy? BS is always snooping around. I know I would suspect something is not right with BS.

He is kind of hard to read. I am not sure if he is acting ignorant or not? But he managed to escape the palace with the blood letter and evade El Temur, so he must have some mad survival skills as well, hopefully, much better than El Plague who is starting to suspect him already.

  7. @petria In connection to your analogy, I think that even if TH matures, he most likely will always act based on what he feels, in contrast to WY, whose actions are always well thought of. We only see WY getting emotional over SN. I'm suspecting that this tendency of always doing the right thing, might also be the very reason WY and SN will be apart in the future episodes, not because SN will prefer one over the other.

Also, seeing that TH is almost always ruled by his passions, I hope to see a passionate scene with him and SN in the future. (Well, their scene in episode 19 is kind of passionate in the angsty sense, but I want to see passionate in the oolala sense. Hihihi) :)>-

  8. @rinchan76 i was waiting for your posts! Another insightful one. ^:)^

When you get proposed to by the man you are in love with it's like a dream come true, isn't it? More so in this case because we have seen so much longing between SN and WY--all that dream scenes, the thoughts of living or surviving for someone or non being able to live without that someone (when WY supposedly died and SN was in pretty bad shape). And now, this is the culmination of their relationship, the proposal to be with the very someone who has occupied your heart and mind for a long time. No matter what happens from then on, you are going to be with this person. No more barriers between the two of you, but you will fight whatever obstacles together! So, why would you think of another man? And shed tears at the thought of this other man? This other man who you said you never opened your heart to (you said it in his face, if I may add). SN, why you so confusing?

  9. Currently watching episode 19...hmmm is that eyeliner I'm seeing in our Emperor's eyes? Don't like it. Although he carries it well but...
    8-X

I think we all agree that the Emperor is growing some b--ls because of SN. But at the same time, I do think that TH already had enough of the bullying, not just from ET, but from ED, and WY as well. He is cowardly, yes, but at the same time there is courage in him, and we've seen glimpses of it. But his courage has always been outshined by his timidity and fear. And I think that because of all the things happening, he cannot ignore the fire within him any longer. He will go crazy if he continues to act like a puppet.

  10. Hi my dears!

Not visiting this forum for a day or two is not advisable, or else, there will be hundreds of new posts...
    =))

But what lovely insights you all have. I had to re-watch the first episode again. Not sure how many times I have watched it!

During the first few minutes of the episode, there wasn't much emotion on SN's face except for a few moments:
    - she smiled when she saw her parents' rings (maybe this is a sign that she does not feel that marrying TH is a sign of betrayal to her parents anymore)
    - she was almost in tears when her maid announced that the King of Goryo already left
    - she smiled at the people after the tea ceremony
    - she looked questioningly at TH when she sees his worried expression
    - she was sad and cried when she saw WY

So much room for interpretation then for this episode. I guess this is why we're very much excited to see the next episode. We all know what's going to happen, but how it will happen, we can only imagine this!

  11. Even though I want El Terror dead, I am quite happy that he isn't actually dead yet (scratching my head on this). Because this means, there's still possibility that he gets to witness his family's downfall (everyone getting imprisoned and tortured), and also now that he is confident that his enemies are eliminated, the surprise attack on him is much sweeter now that he thinks that he is invincible. Also, this also means the quest for blood letter is not over (and that the writers hasn't forgotten it, or made the storyline useless with ET's sudden death), and that the Joek Ho (Goryo village head) story is coming (but please, no more bath scene for him).

So many things to look forward to next week (and I haven't seen episodes 19 and 20 yet!).

  12. @CherKell I guess the motive is the difference... TH motives/actions were selfish, WY motives were for the good of others...(even though it didn't work as he would have wanted to) But interesting point, one is partially responsible for her father's death and the other for her mother's death... Epic...

@CherKell thank you for raising this up! Was thinking about the same thing. Aren't they both indirectly responsible? Why was it harder to accept TH's mistake?

@stclaus I don't see one motive being bad, while the other being good. I think in WY's case, he was a child and he was driven by his helplessness in seeing his people suffer. He was the crown prince but he cannot so anything. His freeing of the slaves had very good intentions but not well thought of. In the case of TH, he was also helpless at this point, but I think that at this moment, he was also thinking of the greater good. Sacrifices has to be made so he can later on set things right. In both cases, they were not aware of the major consequences: WY indirectly killing the slaves; TH indirectly killing SNs dad.

  13. Hate is not the opposite of love, indifference is. Also, there's a thin line between love and hate. As someone posted earlier (sorry only using phone at the moment so lazy to quote), the revelation SN made yesterday about her father is a catalyst to their relationship. Actually, I also see it as 'almost overcoming a major obstacle ' scene. Without the revelation, TH would just be kept the dark of what he did wrong with no chance of redeeming himself. But with this revelation, he finally gets the chance to set things right. And if he does that he has a fighting chance to get SN's heart in the end. We already see stirrings of confusion with SN in episode 20. It could grow into full blown confusion in the next episodes.
