"They look like siblings," netizens impressed with the superior visuals of YoonA and Kim Seon Ho

Girls' Generation's YoonA and actor Kim Seon Ho, along with TV personality Jang Sung Kyu, were cast as the MCs for this year's '2020 MBC Daejejeon (Song Festival)' as they adorned the stage with their exceptional visuals.

'2020 MBC Song Festival' aired on December 31st in which many fans were able to see YoonA's stunning beauty with Kim Seon Ho's exceptional handsomeness. The two MCs put on a special performance on this day as they sang a duet song of the classic song "Perhaps Love."

After the show aired, many netizens were starstruck as they were delighted to see the collaboration of these two celebrities. Many netizens took it to an online community to express how glad they were to see the two beautiful people on the same stage with each other.

Many netizens commented, "They really look good together, they need to film a drama together right away," "They look like siblings," "They're both so pretty," "they look like art," "They definitely look like siblings, they both have that innocent deer look," "They're so good together," "Their faces really look good together, they need to be in a drama or movie together," and "what is this, this is the perfect couple I've ever seen."

Hmm... think I understand KSH's vibe with his FL in previous drama (except with Moon Ga Young whom they are like hyung-donsang). He was not quite 100% sync up with his FL in previous dramas, guess it's related to this "sibling-look" visual or vibe. Actually, I thought about this after my post. It's ok for him not to be 100% sync-up. If we viewers think they are so sync up, it means he either has feelings for the FL or is involved in some rumors/scandals which I don't think he wants to have this happened to his works.

I like the Mr. Hong project with SMA. SMA has finally solidified her acting after the chief. She was very cute and adorable in her early dramas like Arang and the magistrate when she was a lot younger. And, this is a studio dragon production, if the writer is good, he/she can come up stories for each household in the village and would give a good platform to show off KSH's acting skills. If SMA declines the offer, my next preference would be Han Hyo-joo. She certainly has strong acting skills to take on this role. The movie actors/actresses will usually do a drama when they have movies coming out.

I also think he will stay on 2S1N as long as he can unless the PD team gets rotated and changes are made to the members. (Then who knows what will happen to the show! But KBS seems to be very pleased with the new theme for this season.) The show helps him deal with the transitional period after the drama ends. Like he said, he can go travel and enjoy good food with the members. It clears his head so he won't cling to the character and experience those void/emptiness.  He has good friends from his theater world, he has yet to establish good friends in the tv world since he just debuted 2017.  He needs support and friendship to help him sail through the more complicated tv world. That's all the more he appreciates the friendship with the 2D1N members.

He is enjoying all these attention and exploring all kinds of possibilities after start-up. It's a whole new world to him. He is an analytical person, sure he knows how to handle this change and make good with any opportunities presented. At the end of the day, he has 2D1N family that can give him support and can help him stay grounded.

    Happy 2021! :highonflowers:

Speaking about script, there's a rumor that Kim Eun Sook is preparing a new drama. Since most of her works are well known (The Heirs, Goblin, Mr.Sunshine, TKEM) I'm lowkey hoping Seonho will be casted as a ML on her next drama. :D

I think the cast for this new one has pretty much confirmed - Lee Byunghun, Han Ji Min, Nam Joo Hyuk, Shin Min A.
think he might have to quit 2D1N if he is in such a big production!

  3. His visual with SHJ is pretty good and SHJ is usually chemistry-compatible with ML's. We will have to wait til they actually be in a drama to see if they will work out.  I think 2 to 4 eps romcom, like you drive me crazy, is more suitable for KSH. This is not something he excels or interested in. He and LYY did an excellent job in playing out their characters but visuals and chemistry wise were not as strong as he and MGY in wakiki 2 though the storyline was very weak, and hence ratings were not good.  I sometimes think that it's kinda difficult to match him with a good FL. He has a youthful, innocent, sweet look with powerful acting. If he pairs with someone a lot younger who matches his look, the acting of that actress might not match up to his level. You pair him with an actress who has good acting skills but the visuals might not be there. So at the end of the day, it's the storyline and the production that can overcome this problem. Years ago, the moon embracing the sun with Kim soo hyun carrying the drama was so popular that the lack of chemistry between the leads and the so-so acting skills of FL were not the issues at all.

I really like him portraying a son taking care of his alzheimer mom in catch the ghost. The struggles, disappointment, despair he played out just touched my heart.  And this is the kind of character he prefers when being asked in the CNN Indonesia interview.

I would definitely want to see him with SYJ.  I have to applause the person who has come up with this pairing. If SYJ is the queen of most heart-wrenching crying scenes, KSH would be the king. They both have super acting skills in crying scenes and have beautiful crying faces that suck the audience's emotion into their characters. I think they will be good in some patriotic/real-life movie or drama, like the last princess.

  4. These days, the romantic korean drama just don't do well, especially those that don't have a strong story plot. The writer of Link had suspicious partner and to me, it was just so so! The general outline of Link seems so weak. Either the story primarily focuses on the mysterious separation of the twins and the journey that they find each other and romance the secondary plot, or the other way round. If they focus on romance, what is to write about? The FL keeps comforting him every time the ML goes through emotional ups and downs?! I don't want to explicity say whether KSH should take this drama but hope he will be selective. The theatrical play seems to giving him a better platform to utilize his acting skills.

I also wonder about his whole family getting proper psychological treatment on this trauma. The concept to see psychologist back then might not be well accepted back. He gets so anxious easily with noise and presumptive tackles in 2D1N. He got on a plane at age 32 because of family crisis. It's interesting that someone brought up Kang Ha Neul. He also has some problems flying. Perhaps because of their anxiety, they find comfort and strength in acting, and their acting skills are exemplary. I love them both very much as I believe their parents did an excellent job in raising them to be respectful, well-mannered, and humble people. You can tell from the voice of KSH's father that he is a gentle, loving, and well-mannered man. They are regular people who love acting and find healing through acting. It's fantastic that they reach stardom in this entertainment business.

I am sure KSH knows how to handle all these attention and set boundaries. He has a strong value and principle. He once told his fans not to get him any gifts because he felt the burden. He never told his fans the brands of stuff he uses. As fan we should simply support him and also respect him.

SALT seems to be a fair, respectful agency. They don't exploit their staff like some others which i don't remember the names. I guess we can always write to his agency if we feel that he is overworked!

@ixxdhx81 I do agree that the writers of Start Up probably had no clue that KSH as HJP would receive this much love/praise from people/online. Expect the director lol, he adores KSH a lot! He even accommodated his schedule so he could film this show. About his past stories popping up, anything of note to share?

I definitely do agree that his 12 yrs of acting experience in theater has helped him tremendously. He can ab-lib quickly, can re-asses his acting to fit in with the other actors, and is meticulous about his craft as seen in The Swoon interview.

I still find it mind boggling how he would've just continued in theater if his mom, nor a free trip to Cebu changed his mind! He said that he actually got paid well for his work, and was content with it, and made a nice living off of it. Not sure how much, but enough to pay rent/food/clothing/etc. P.S: Is that car his in the pic with him at the salon?

@irilight HJP originally was written as a cold/serious character on paper. But KSH, said that it didn't fit in with a youth based feel. So he adapted HJP to fit in with the tone of the show. He made HJP more dimensional with his acting. I always hear that he stole the show from the ML's (Strongest Delivery Man/Two Cops).

I heard that he didn't sign up yet for Link, but is reviewing it. That was back in early Nov. He's doing a play from Jan-March 21st. Dude is going to be swamped!! The premise could either be surprisedly fun (Oh My Ghost) or like Abyss (Fun premise/meh execution). Either way, if this show bombs, it could mean that he won't get ML offers. But if it works out, he'll definitely blow up even more. This is a romance show too, so he needs a really strong female actress(es) I heard there's 2 females: One is his twin sis, & the other is a woman who comes into his life? So that aspect should be fun aha, 2 women in his life lol, cue the hijinks! @DonnaMae Seo Hyun-jin is rumored to be the FL in Link, tvN made a fan video of the two lol. Her, Moon Chae Won, Seo Ye Ji, Shin Min Ah, and similar sexy actresses would be fun for him to play off with. He's always been paired with younger talents, so someone his age or older is intriguing. I wonder how their banter will be.

As a fan, I am curious about one thing is where does he want to end up? I know he said he's doesn't dwell on the future. But does he want to be a star or an actor? Someone said he wanted to be a serious actor, but somewhere within Catch the Ghost time, he changed his mind? Or his agency pushed him to become one/join 2D1N? I know that he loves being on the show, but I wonder does he want to become the new Lee Seung-gi or is this a launching pad or sandbox for him until he gets to a place where he doesn't need to be on a variety show to promote himself? He's a hard worker no doubt, but between doing a play, variety, hosting, press, and etc. I worry about his mental/body stamina. Kang Ha Neul said that he needed to take a break after working a lot, because he needed time to reflect and re-asses himself. I worry that for KSH, he's just working into something w/o taking the time to properly rest, and he's going to get burnt out soon.

His acting skill was strong enough to work with the ml in Two Cops and he definitely did a way better job in the Delivery man. I think his passion is still in acting, to be a best actor than a celebrity. But sine he had moved beyond the theater world, he has to go with the system of the tv world. He is talented, so he can handle different genre. I don’t think he has the intention to be lee seungi in 2D1N. It was probably difficult to turn down the opportunity to be on such a popular variety show. The kbs director said they screened every comment, review, social media of the possible candidates before inviting them in this season. I remember a previous post mentioned that he cleaned up his Instagram, probably for this reason.
2D1N turns out to be a blessing for him, not so much in gaining popularity but for him to have fun and travel. With his traumatic childhood experience, he hardly travels and he must be quite lonely growing up. In the uncut clip of the “summer vacation” theme in 2D1N, he spent much longer time writing his thoughts about the vacation. He said something like “it was such a blessing to meet this group of friends and travel together as he grew up alone”! He truly treasure this friendship with this production and gives him the safe “support” to go traveling. He might be emotionally healed and be stronger through this program.
I do hope he and his agency will now be more selective in choosing projects. His acting is now solidly recognized through SU, and he has learned how much his body can handle between 2D1N and drama shooting schedules. He can be choosy and should know how to prioritize. I really hope he will be on the hospital playlist. We won’t know until the show is aired. The director always make it a secret, and he also leads a healthy shooting schedules.

To me, as long as KSH takes care of his health and has fun with whatever h is doing, that’s all the matter!

I've been quietly supporting yoo seung ho, but I really cant help commenting on his approach on picking projects. news on korea star daily reported that he will definitely choose btwn I m love and I m not a robot, which both of them don't sound like have a strong storyline. If the drama doesn't do well, he will lose his confidence again! why is he doing that, and especially in the midst of mbc management crisis? I m not a robot was offered to dong ha (a very green actor) before and he turned it down. I think if seung ho or his manager is more initiative and approaches production with interesting stories, maybe he will have better exposure and more opportunities. I think he suits playing the monkey role in the Korean version of journey to the west fm tvn, and he will get to work with "auntie" cha. It doesn't guarantee a success with tvn but at least a more interesting and diff genre!

p.s. excuse me if I sounded a bit annoyed writing this msg!

A little different for me, i like sjk (nice guy) and shg (full house, winter the wind blows) and i watch ep 1 Dots when it was aired, but i stop watch it until ep 6 because the storyline and character just like a dreamland (sorry..out of topic)

While i wasn't a fans of KRW/PSH, but this drama make me fall in love with their chemistry, their acting ability, and the story isn't similiar with other medical kdrama (at least until ep 8)..we have different taste but for sure we have the same desease 'Hong Syndrome'

So agreed! I honestly don't understand why Dots was such a success, even I like SJK very much! Guess it's the flower boy-look of SJK. The storyline and acting at Doctors are way better! I hope the drama and the actors and actresses will gain equal success like DOTS.

  8. Hmm... I don't know where you can watch it in eng sub. It's not even on dramafever nor dramacrazy. I watched it via an apple app on my iPad. It's in Chinese sub. I like the drama so much I actually order the DVD. He was good in "I need romance" but he was way better in "my daughter." It's kinda a lead male role for him. I'm not sure if I can sit through his other dramas due to those storyline, even though I like him very much. Have other k n j dramas to catch! I do want to ck out "legends." Thanks for the info.

  9. I like this actor so much that I've decided to participate in this forum. I'm just surprised that he was under the radar for such a long time, guess he didn't have a good talent agency. Folks, I highly recommend you to watch "My Daughter the Flower." He was so good in it. Don't get scared off by the 131 episodes. It's only 30 mins for each ep, so essentially only about 60 episodes. It has a very good storyline, though it's a standard for krdrama to be a bit draggy at certain parts. If the 1st ep cannot hold my interest for 30mins, I don't consider a good drama. You can see all his emotional expression in this drama. It broke my heart!Keep supporting him!
