Not only did they have seamless casting for young and present-day Mok Ha, but the matchup between acting on young and current Ki Ho is great, too. There were several times in ep 6 where I was looking at present-day actor and directly seeing Ki Ho from the past. Just channeling that exact character.

Yeeessss… I love it too.. I was, like, wow .. they’re strikingly so similar! Lol! Thank goodness the red herring (who is Kiho?) didn’t last long. Now, we’re onto a different secret though. i hope my theory about the skeletal remains in the trailer is wrong though. The incident that led to their deaths…what if it doesn’t involve their abusive father, but sadly, involves their stepfather (most likely an accident but he panicked or something and didn’t report it? And the family went along with it to have a fresh start away from the abusive father). Hence, Bogoel’s fear is that giving up their current names will uncover truths about the four corpses that might destroy their family in more ways than the obvious. Who knows?? I’m hooked onto the mystery. I hope Mokha doesn’t feel betrayed about the secrets and such. I don’t think she will but I get Start-Up-PTSD just thinking  about it. Lol.

I love Ki-Ho. He is not always the most comforting person in the short run, but even when some of the things he says are hard, they definitely will turn out for the best in the long run.

True, it’s funny, though, when he was talking about lies and how in the long run it will be uncovered…it probably slipped his mind that he’s gotta practice what he preach but I don’t blame the guy at all—I’m just worried about how their secrets / lies will blow over later on, but i think they will truly be free when the truth comes out and their abusive father is behind bars or just gone.

    Spoiler

“I could feel his pride in the preview for ep 7--he's the one who started Mok Ha on the road to this singing career, he made her first music video, he made the connections for her with Rang Joo's group, and now finally he's going to get to present her--as herself!--on air so that people can hear her sing and know her for herself. “ @frozentundra It’s so beautiful to see those parallels .  :love:He wants to show her that he’s KiHo by his actions without telling her the truth. I think deep down he’s hoping she figure it out on her own.

    Spoiler

I love the brothers' current parents, too. Hopefully they can find a way to make that legal and permanent, cause they deserve good parents like that, and meanwhile bio dad deserves to go hang out with the bees he loves so much.” @frozentundra For reals!!! :hwaiting2:

  2. I'm just relieved i like both male leads that i actually don't mind who she will end up with in the end. At least i try not to mind. Lol. Otherwise, i'll just be too stressed like i was with Start-Up. I just want all o_ them to be sa_e, happy, and healed by the end o_ this drama and _or that abusive _ather to finally get his comeuppance.  (Sorry, my keyboard is missing a certain letter. Lol.)

    Spoiler

I have this theory that Bo-geol won’t ever admit that he’s Ki-Ho because of the harm that came upon his loved ones as a result like what happened with his older brother and perhaps their mom too. To protect them, he will keep denying it even though it seems like he wants to reveal himself to Mokha as seen from his listening to Mokha sing at the end of episode 3. But Ki-Ho could be the older brother too, what with his having flashbacks of his / their (biological son too?) father’s abuse and the trauma that resulted. But I can’t seem to connect it though with his memory loss occurring during middle school while Ki-Ho kept showing up at that meeting place as an adult to meet Mokha, so yeah… I’m almost dying to know about Ki-Ho’s true identity. Lol!!

  4. Another theory about Ki-Ho’s identity is that he’s a different guy from the brothers. I say this because in Episode 1 he looked like he’s in the navy or something. He was in uniform while holding a briefcase. Maybe that was the last time he waited for her to show up before he left. Maybe… another possibility, one really sad one is that he died somehow when he’s older.
In the trailer, there was an accident with four skeletons on the ground, I wonder what the connection is to the plot…hmm…

  5. I just watched episode 2 and I’m in love with the story and can’t wait to watch more. I wish episodes are released all at once so that I can binged-watch it. Although I’m a bit worried about getting 2nd ML syndrome (results from watching Start-Up for me…lol), I’m more concerned about the FL’s happiness. As long as she’s happy, content, and free from the pain of the past (same for Ki-ho), I think I’ll be satisfied with how this drama will end.

  6. Spoiler

I'm sooooo happy and content with UtQU's finale. True, at first, I thought the QD deserved worse than what she got, but with hindsight, I believe the QD got the most painful punishment of all, one from the person she loved the most and who she least expected it from, her beloved son.

It was so satisfying to finally see a doctor who wasn't swayed by the QD's bribes or cowed by her threats. One thing I wished we had seen more of was the doctor with the scar on his face. I loved his interactions with the CP during the plague. They could have made a fun team if it weren't for the doctor's loyalty to the deposed Queen Yoon and her surviving son.

The romance between CP and his wife before and during their marriage was just so lovely...I was actually bracing myself for a tragic ending for them, what with many foreshadowing, but yay!! To them being unfounded. The other romances in the drama were entertaining to see, but one of my favorites is the understated love between the king and the queen. True, his having so many concubines kinda lessen that love, lol, but it's so obvious that out of all his women, the king loves and trusts the queen the most and views her as his best friend. She can read him so well while at the same time she's respectful towards him. She lets him make his own decisions without pressuring or nagging him (unlike his mom who proved to be a thorn in his side).

Overall, i looooove this saguek. It's refreshing to see a happy ending for once...I haven't seen those in a long while, so this is my feel-good drama of the year. It's a plus to have veteran actors in the show display their prowess as actors, especially Kim Hye-Soo and Kim Hae-sook.

    My rating: 9/10

  7. I just fin watching Ep. 13..and my, I wasn't expecting that twist at the end. I'm so curious about what will happen next. For sure, if the Queen Dowager learns the whole truth, she may have to choose between her favorite "grandson" and her least favorite grandson in terms of who she will allow to ascend the throne. If the Queen Dowager does choose Seongnam, it'll be quite interesting and humbling for her, which I can't wait to see. Also, according to the Ep. 14 preview, it seems like the Queen too would have to make peace with the truth about her husband's involvement with CP Taein's passing...what will she decide then? So far, she hasn't stained her hands with blood and injustice, but now, I wonder what's she is willing to sacrifice in order to protect the ones she loves. I hope she never becomes like the Queen Dowager or ones who worked with her, that she loses her humanity.

  8. I just fin Ep. 11 too and i also love the queen for protecting not just her sons and the sons of the King's other ladies, but also the servants and the scholars while giving them a firm rebuke at the same time. Her giving chances and being forgiving of the ones who were led astray are just so admirable of her, which i hope will help her to garner more support in the future especially when it seems like the villains in the story may be planning a coup or something like it.

  9. My thoughts on the finale:

I’m relieved and content that it’s a happy ending. :issohappy:

And about our whale couple, I’m glad they got back together. I was hoping for a wedding at the end, but the drama apparently would need more time to get to that point. I guess that’s what S2 is for. Hopefully.

And I’m gonna try not to focus on the parts of the drama that didn’t make much sense to me and just focus on the good. :joy:

Although this drama isn’t perfect, it’s one of the most enjoyable K-dramas I’ve watched in a long time, thanks especially to the cast. And I’m loving the fandom (and so grateful to them:yay:) for producing so many fanfics and fanart. Just:wow2:

    :love::fullofhearts:

Thank you, everyone, for your posts!!  See you again in 2024!

  10. At this point, I’m just expecting the worse ending ever. It’s better to keep my hopes low, so the disappointment doesn’t hit me too hard. Lol. I must say, though, regardless of how it all ends, I’m gonna miss this drama, our OTP, Attorney Jung, the friendships, and more.

About our OTP, I think Jun Ho gotta consider other factors besides love and happiness like whether he will be able to handle the possible loneliness he may feel while in a relationship with WYW. It seems like it’s something he never considered before when we look at his facial expressions when she told him that.

  11. Here are some of my thoughts on Ep. 13 and 14: what if Minwoo's conscience started to bother him the moment he saw Atty Jung collapse in pain in the courtroom, and especially after learning he was diagnosed with stage 3 stomach cancer? No matter how much he resents Jung for seemingly showing favor to YW, it seems like he has worked under Jung for quite some time before YW came along. He must have looked up to Jung as a mentor during those times, so there must have been some feelings of concern over Jung and his welfare, for sure. Thus, he must feel guilty for the negative feelings he had about Jung (he expressed them to Tae Sumi). That's the only explanation I can come up with for his personality transplant. Lol.

  12. I wonder if this drama will have a 2nd season. I hope so! I also hope that we won't have the grandpa disliking Hari later on if he learns the truth about her identity and her contractual relationship with his grandson.

Who had thought the scene where Hari pretended she was a shaman or she was possessed was hilarious? The acting was really good, including the actor who played the blind date. ROFL!!!

  13. I surprisingly enjoyed the first two episodes. I'm quite curious about Hee Do's mom. Why did she let Hee Do think the worst about her regarding her dad's wedding ring if she didn't actually sell it? Or did she somehow get it back later on? Or did she withhold the truth from her daughter as a sort of punishment for herself since she didn't attend her husband's funeral?? Also, whats the deal between Hee Do's mom and the coach? Oh, well, lol, i look forward to the next episodes. I'm hooked!

  14. Is it just me or are the other ships shippable, if that makes sense? Lol. For example, I find myself liking CW with NJ and YS with JW...but I don't mind CW and YS together either, as long as CW and YS aren't fighting or hurting each other..i like them together... The realism of past relationships in this drama is A +..

Edited: Oh, yeah, i agree about YS being too much at times for CW. But i was just thinking, CW too, needs to improve. I remember a time when YS kept asking him questions that may seem trivial at the time to CW, but CW himself disregards them or doesn't take them seriously either. But his answers mattered a lot to her. I just thought she needed the same reassurances from him as he needed from her regarding their love.
