I want Roy to be alive and be vindicated by turning out to be a mole to uncover a financial scam. NB truly loves him, and I think he genuinely loved her. His "death" could be a ploy to flush out the scammers.
-
That's hilarious, Baduy. I know you have regular complaints about some of the interpreting, but when they start misidentifying major cities, oops!
I, too, don't think Roy is dead.... but that "news" should send SA into a real panic.
-
I agree that there are some interesting plot lines here that could get pretty interesting, especially the snarky brother-in- law teacher and his girlfriend. HA! Can't wait for the you know what to hit the fan when he finds out who she really is.

Yes, I noticed that MVIBO was not getting the subs either, so thankfully I didn't subscribe. What a sham! It looks like everything they have is what is free elsewhere. Anyway, I printed out your last summaries that were so complete, so I thank you for that.

Well, uncle/brother has already served his wife once with divorce papers, but she tore them up, so good luck with that. On another note, I don't mean to be picky, but who in this day and age sends a videotape to someone? Good thing Grandma is strong as an ox and ripped the plastic box right open. I know that's what I would do.

Thank you, xwinm! You are now officially a member of the Cool Kids table! The "wait-for-the-subs" people like me appreciate your input. Awesome!

I agree that it will take a very long time for a lot of the mysteries to play out. This writer, Moon Eun-Ah, is not my idea of sitting- at- the -edge- of- your- seat finger- biting drama stories. Her others, "Smile Dong-hae" (a bazillion episodes), and "You are My Destiny" were anything but riveting. Do you notice that we've already drifted into the "now you have it, no you don't episodes"? Like... accepted/not, pregnant/not, drama role/not... they really don't lead anywhere, just fill up time.
-
OK, this drama is morphing into the "stupid" category with "Don't Hesitate", the drama where the clueless girl got slapped daily by the abusive office manager. NB is facing SA after having a miscarriage and acts totally non-reactive... what's wrong with this picture!!!? Wouldn't the normal reaction be such anger that you would grab her neck and lash out furiously? Good grief, where is the outrage?! And when senile grandmother grabbed NB's mother's hair and mother was screaming it hurt, everyone just stood there and watched! The lack of reactions are toatally nuts! We'll see in 10 more episodes if the ratings start falling...

I can't decide if it's bad acting or bad directing, but when there is an emergency like the bang and scream coming from the kitchen, or someone falls and clutches their stomach in a restaurant, shouldn't there be an instant reaction from the people around? I mean, some movement toward helping the victim? Gosh, what dumb reactions. Through 12 episodes now, we've seen a lot of scenerios, but where is the movement toward a larger story line that actually takes us somewhere? And for people supposedly running a restaurant, they sure aren't there very much.

I, too, fear this writer will not know when to call it quits on the Yoon Seol-Ah nastiness to Nam Na-Bi. It seems in some of the better 50 episode dramas, these kinds of scenarios play out, then the drama moves in another direction. That has a way of keeping interest rather than the feeling of "Gosh, I might as well have skipped the last 20 episodes."
-
I'm pleasantly surprised so far at how interesting this drama is, considering this writer's past. With 50 episodes though, that's always tough to keep the plot moving and creative. I like the cast alot... they're real pros.

Wow, what a bummer. Is there any chance it would come out on a DVD with English subs, even next year?
-
Yes! I see now that Gwinam was performing in another video with the boy that is playing his nephew. So talented!
-
What is the name of the song that Gwinam "sings" to his wife at the end of ep. 49, and who does it? I assume he's lipsyncing... it's a beautiful song.

I'm just guessing, but I think that last scene in ep. 52 had to do with some gangsters trying to shake down Father for money. The fake "screaming" in the background was supposed to make him think that Mother had been kidnapped, and he was given bank deposit numbers to put money into an account. Fortunately daughter-in-law got involved and had contacted the police, so went to where they thought Mother was, and, sure enough, she was safe at her church. Father was stopped before finishing the bank transaction, so no money was lost. Maybe our Korean speakers can shed an accurate summary... like I said, I'm just guessing.
Wasn't this some of the most wild activity yet? Ha! Ha! Such crazy animation... I can hardly wait for the translation, it was sooo funny!

And can anybody guess who Manager sister IlSook was talking to in the cafe about Yoon Bin? Could that young woman be an estranged wife or something? Il Sook was awfully upset at the end... I'm feeling bad for her.
-
Holy cow! I sure didn't see that coming at the end of ep 50! Bankrupt brother comes to the bakery and gets into it with his brother, then spills the beans to Gwinam's mother about how his wife was responsible for the disappearance 30 years ago. Wow! What was the purpose of that? Is he so bitter and angry about aunt staying with Gwinam's family? Poor Mother!! She will really need her family now... such an ordeal to deal with.
-
I totally agree. Keep the kleenex handy for ep 49! I don't remember when I've seen such a sad experience treated so lovely and compassionately. The support of the family members is so wonderful, and what a surprise at the end. I like the way this whole incident was not quickly resolved and shoved under the rug, but treated as one of the harder challenges that some people face. This writer is wonderful.

Oh! Thanks for the update, awsparkle... I didn't know it had been extended. This is one drama that should benefit from an extension, compared to others that seem like a waste.
-
This last episode was heart wrenching with the loss of the baby, but I'm wondering if they'll consider adopting the little boy that was introduced a few episodes ago. Thanks, Kimbo39, for clarifying that. A lot to wrap up in just 2 more segments!
-
This is one of the better written dramas in recent months. There are both laugh out loud parts and serious parts, and the characters are genuine and likeable. I can't say I've ever been tempted to skip a few episodes like other dramas, because you would miss so much. The story line has had such a good pace, not a lot of spinning and going nowhere. Now that it's nearing the end, I'm definitely going to find this writers other drama, "Queen of Reversals".
-
I, too, am waiting for the subs no matter how long it takes. If there is one word to describe this drama, it's "meaty". I certainly appreciated the summaries from baduy, especially the ending, and look forward to watching it in it's entirety. A good script, mature actors, and a story that takes place in the 21st century with real furniture and daily activities... how unique!
-
I had the same idea, Semi-fly. Lady Jang gave JA a business card (?) as she was leaving, and I thought she might be suggesting JA should terminate (probably too late) or not keep the baby.
-
@baduy sorry for asking .... are you still going to subbed the rest of the episodes (45 to 50) ... thanks .... really appreciate your subs .... fighting
He indicated awhile back that he was not going to sub anymore episodes, which is pretty frustrating to a lot of the fans on other sites. So basically just watch the raw episodes and follow our discussion above. Don't know if someone might pick up the last few episodes to sub.

I don't want to get overly optimistic, but episode 11 just appeared out of the blue on dramacrazy. Keep your fingers crossed for the possibility of all 16 episodes!
