  1. Hi all!

I'm officially jumping into the bandwagonnnnnnn *throws confetti*

I didn't have the luxury to go back and read other pages but here's my take on the first two episode. Both PBG and SHK really nailed the awkward first-meetings-falling-in-love-slowly scenes that my toes are curling up so bad (in a good way). I can't stop smiling watching the two that I was thinking why some k-netz were saying SHK's acting are the same.

For me, how she characterized CSH is like a mix between Kang Mo Yeon and Oh Young... since Kang Mo Yeon was direct, sassy and spunky, Oh Young is reserved and quiet but spoke her mind too. I really love her subtle smile that appears whenever KJH is around.

PBG, on the other hand, is making my face hurt from smiling along. He's so smiley and adorable and all that I forgot I only seen him in Reply 1988.

And interesting tidbit (which maybe some people has pointed out) that I realised after watching is that CSH mom's is the same mom as Kang Mo Yeon. :sweatingbullets: she was so cool there and whammmm. A really domineering mom in here... the actress did a good job!

Can't wait to see how the story unfolds! Thanks for all the goodies shared. *waves*

     just for clarification....

South Korea's sim card dont work that way. Sim cards in SK arent that important. When you buy a phone, mobile companies inserted the sim card. You choose your own number. They register the number on your name. Phone Numbers are registered under your name, phone numbers arent tied to the sim cards.

When you buy a new phone as replacement to old or lost one, you cannot just insert the old sim on your new phone and voila.... Ready to go... NO..

I think in YSJ's case, his phone is perfectly fine. Just no internet connection.

And here I thought phone numbers are tied to sim cards, not the phone itself.

Due to my limited understanding of how sim cards and mobiles work in Korea... I'll rest my case.

Now let us enjoy the finale of our beloved drama... it's quite disheartening alright, but we can always binge watch later. *grins*

    Salute!

  3. I usually enjoyed reading and browsing in this thread because it's good to see lots of POV here which may differ from mine.

But can't help to point out that

    1. The technology we have now (especially in telecommunication) are vastly different from say, 5 to 10 years ago. (This is coming from a 30 plus year old ajumma so you better believe me. Oh... the old age of 128MB of storage makes you feel as if you are on the top of the world...:sweatingbullets:)

    2. It's funny to read that YSJ mobile's battery last forever, because while his phone might be damaged, the sim card had quite a good chance to survive. Get a new phone, slid the sim in and connect to the internet, download whatever app you were using before and walla... messages came pouring in.

    3. A few forumer also pointed out it's ridiculous that he could carry his phone around. And i certainly agree. In order to carry out a mission, isn't it customary that you will go to a base first and be briefed before entering the war zone/mission location? They must had left personal belonging there before the mission was carried out.

It doesn't make any sense that a special force soldier who left his dog tags on purpose running around with their phone, which will expose who they are once the enemy (or anyone, so to speak) run the sim card to get the information inside.

As much as I kind of hate KES and KWS and love them anyway for writing this highly enjoyable drama, I don't think they were careless enough to include anything that were unexplainable. We saw how they tied the story together, referencing earlier scenes with the latest ones.

And to think they overlooked these kind of things makes me like:mellow:...

    Yeah.... not buying it.

I read another translation - the interviewer asked Mr Jon to summarize the drama in one line (not ending). And he said it is cringe worthy or something to that effect. But not specially on the ending. Can someone who understand Korean confirm please?

Mine was translation by KBS World, but we do know from experience that KBS have taken liberty with their translations more than once.

Funny thing about language is, even native speakers have different interpretation on words so it's up to us to interpret it, I guess.:sweatingbullets:

Right. Back to lurking mode. Adios. *roger&out*

Who said it was lovey dovey?  I refuse to believe anything but that.  Even SJK said the romance with MY was lovey dovey at the first press con.  I expect double weddings, babies and blockbuster couple getting into trouble wrecking some stuff, but not anything sad. :P

Oh well, this will be a loong week I think.

It's Jo jae yun. The actor who played Manager Jin. He was hilarious in the interview. I kept laughing whenever he said his character really is the nation's enemy. Lol.

    @IrisFM

i hope that balcony scene wasn't a goodbye kiss from MY because she should back to korea (either she want or not).

You know what... that's possible you see... because the writer won't have the scene ChiHoon mom throwing tantrums just to fill 1 hour broadcast quota.

After all, Mo Yeon went to Urk as a Haesung's staff so it makes sense if she was obligated to return. So that kiss... 'I have to go back, I'll wait for you to come back too.. so gimme a kiss until we meet again'

    Lol. Imagination running wild.

I actually hopping that there is a scene that Mo Yeon get hurt so we can get to see a scene where Shi Jin reaction just like Jin Go after knowing Myong Ju infected by M3 virus

I was hoping for the same too! Forgive me KMY!

But if done correctly, this kidnapping arc gave that kind of chance aplenty. I don't want Dr Kang to get hurt badly, maybe just hurt enough to propel YSJ to ponder and feel what it meant to him on 'losing' her.

  9. Who else (beside) me thought there's actually two things she confessed in her recording.

    1. Her feelings on YSJ... of course.

    2. Along the line of 'If I had known I would die like this, I should have lived my life the way I wanted.'

In other clip I watched, the line was translated as 'If I had known I would die like this, I would not work as hard to be a professor'.

I was wondering which one was the correct one, because if the second translated line was accurate, it brings a lot of different meaning about her wanting to be a professor.

And about her father is a soldier himself, I tend to disagree... it just doesn't add up. I would elaborate more if I got time later this evening. :P

Will the "surprise ending" be it's all just the imagination of either the male lead or the female lead? Oh, don't be that kind of surprise, please...

I'm kinda worried because people keep saying "going to be a surprise ending". And I don't think that happy ending = surprise ending, or super sad ending = surprise ending. Cross my fingers

Oh ho ho... this sounds familiar. I'm gonna burn something if this story is just an imagination AGAIN.

But I do agree about maintaining a relationship is harder than starting one. Because you really have to accept everything about your partner, his past, his present and his future. You have to tolerate his shortcomings, because he would be accepting yours.

So when KMY actually took her time to ponder all this, I respect her because she is not searching for something temporary. She wants to be serious about it, so that's why she's been doing what she's doing. 'Rejecting' YSJ even though she's loosing the battle.

  11. If I am Jin Goo's wife... I'll be a tiny bit jealous looking at that photospread...:sweatingbullets:

But since it is actually Seo Dae Young who was with Yoo Myung Joo... so it should be okay right? LOL

That aside, I havent been able to catch episode 7 yet, only streaming bits and pieces from KBSDrama youtube channel and boy, was those tears streaming down my face?

SHK nailed that sad scene. *standing ovation* Enough said.

Literally all of KES' dramas have had happy, story-cut cheesy straight out of Disney movies endings. She loves to write Romance Fairytales like that. My only doubt is that this is the 1st drama where she has a cowriter who's a guy.....maybe she just used his help for the army things???

A sad ending like that is really not her style.

Well, except for Lovers in Paris which made me literally pulling my hair while watching the last episode. My local TV station even cut the last bit (which confuses many, you'll knew which scene I'm talking about if you watch the series) when they do a rerun.

However, my experience with writer Kim Eun Sook is vastly limited (having watched LIP and Lovers only) so I'll just accept whatever in store for DoTS ending. I just hope (sad ending or not), DoTS will tie the loose ends so that it is satisfactory to rewatch again...

Unlike this one drama, the ending ruined everything so I think I would not, EVER rewatch it again although it got me so hooked dince the first episode.

The only BTS stills of them together as of now,  were on that motorboat and shielding themselves in the hot sun?

To be fair, SHK has been burned twice.  So she stays professional.    But she delivers her scenes with chemistry on-screen., with or without music,     Edited with OST  it positively sizzles.  That is way more than enough for me to look forward to every episode, even if 7 days is a long time,

Speaking about being 'burned' twice, I think SHK might (whether she realised it or not) put up a wall against the charms of her co-stars... after all, acting can be very confusing. You think you were in love with the man, but it's just a character, he does not even exist. So the man behind this man, does he love me, not my character but me or not - that sort of a thing.

Truthfully, i didnt even get my hope up that our OTP would be dating in real life as opposed to in the reel only.

So in short, in my opinion, KMY is somewhat an extension of SHK herself. That's why we saw what we saw on the screen. Raw, honest and real emotions.

Watching Ep 7 preview... i somewhat had a different view why KMY was crying. When your emotion got bottled up, you knew someone you love trapped without knowing he is safe or injured, you'll just turn numb.

And when you see them safe and sound after a period of waiting, that's when all the emotions came crashing and that's what I thought the reason why KMY cried.

I could be wrong though... so let's see what is it in store for us on Wednesday. :)

    DOTS fighting!

If you are the far that I think you are ... then OH MY GOD... are you who I think you are? Do we know each other.. hahahaha..

Okay... I dun want to get my hopes up ... I hate to ship otp in real.life .. huhuhu...been there and done that ... dun want to repeat such mistake again.. I dun know if my old heart can handle such pain

Yep it's me. The one who literally disappeared after getting married & having kid(s). We do know each other in thia forum, but not on personal level. I think.

As I'm getting older, I learnt my lesson (the hard way) and try not to ship the OTP outside the drama, or so to speak.

But isn't it fun to hunt for (non existing) clues whether our OTP is seeing each other for real? Hahahaha. Not to mention it makes you get the feels... oh the feels when they stare into each others eyes saying nothing?

Okay, i'm getting a little bit over dramatic but you know what i mean.

I'll catch episode 4 again this eve on KBS world while scrolling this thread for live update on episode 6.

*squealsss* this is so much fun!

I just saw from SJK fans IG: SONGJOONGKIONLY that there were DOTS party with SJK praised thank you and if im not wrong SHG was beside him and it looked like they stand apart so she would not be clear on the video.

This make me realized they dressed looked alike and hope not im not Delulu, i guess KES told him to date properly somehow like to make it in public?

MOD EDIT: Please do NOT quote images/video.

This actually reminds me of Brangelina during Mr and Mrs. Smith press cons/other promotional activities. They were like 'keep your distance, sweetheart!'

  16. Hi. *tentatively*

It's been a while since I posted anything in Soompi. So hello everyone. *waves*

Anyway, that aside, being a HUGE SHK fan, I was excited when she returned to the silver screen again. And boy, she did not disappoint! I don't want to talk too much in case I bore you, but I do agree with SHK herself, that KMY is the adult version of Han Ji Eun.

And jumping into the bandwagon, talking about the wine kiss is a must. As much as I do believe the reaction from MY is totally realistic (in my point of view anyway), to a certain extent. But I can't help to feel that SHK actually blanked out during the kiss (in a few seconds, that is) and it is such a pity that whomever editing this piece included that shot. I am very sure they filmed it over and over again, just like any other scene, so yeah, why choose this one? :anguished:

thanks for sharing those pics! I absolutely LURVE him... ahaha~

he looked so fine, even though I agree he looked older than his age.

Actually he reminds me of Victor Huang in his younger ages... XD the resemblence is there, even though some people may not agree with me. (For the record, I LOVE Victor Huang, so that explains my attraction towards this kid - he's younger than me. -_-;;;;)

anyway~ keep on posting his pics you you've got them! The one i've got is all posted. XD
