I'm not sure if everyone is aware but this is a slice-of-life drama that is driven by characters and not the plot. It's never supposed to be fast paced or event-impacted.

I'd say it's rather realistic especially for people like HJ and JH

It's not dramatic and illogical like I love you at 1st sight or fighting over the 3rd party.

PSH said this character is the most real character she has had... like how it's like in real life. It's a drama about humanity and life after all

She never officially said yes when he asked and he has yet asked the 2nd time.

In Korea this is called Some relationship where it's more than friendship like the 2 people like each other but not yet official bf and gf... 

It's actually quite realistic that HJ is taking thing slow... to figure out. JH too... after today ep, he def has a lot to learn about a relationship

Based on one of the PD notes last week, both JH and HJ never dated anyone in the last 13 years either

However, let's get this straight lol:

PSH is comfortable with most if not all her partners, including KRW. That's one well-known thing about her. She is comfortable and easy going with everyone. It's one of the reasons a lot people wants to work with her as well- positive, cheerful, friendly and fun to be around 

And I believe she has chemistry with all of them as well... just each is different.

Before Doctors I considered PSH a so so actress, if you watch her roles in Heirs, Heartsrings, You're Beautiful, etc, almost all of them are similar, sure some her characters had some emotional burden but not in the scale as Yoo Hye Jung, her roles always seemed weak in comparison to the male lead and her interpretation to me lacked depth and emotion. 

Now when I see the scenes where she remembers her granny or when talking to her father it's like watching another actress, the range of emotions she presents, the details in her characterization are different. Have you watched Pinocchio, FBND, DWIAG and her other movies?

Shinhye has been good but not all her roles can do her justice. And unfortunately, her most popular projects aren't the best roles ( CES is still her worst role to date. Fun fact: she agreed with the casting before she even read the script)

People finally recognized her acting when she is playing something very different from her previous roles and pulled if off flawlessly. You can see how she acted when she was high school student compared to her acting now in Doctors.

But it's not that she suddenly and magically getting better. It's always been there and need the right roles to bring it out.

There is no doubt she is improving and a mature role brings more range in her acting  but as her fan, I'd she has always been good and has done everything the script calls for. It's not her fault that the writer gave her nothing to do but crying every 5 minute and being JUST  the plot device/ love interest of the male leads

But I agree that she finally has enough confidence to step out of her comfort zone.  As a child actress, she didn't want to make her fans to  upset/shock because of her new /too different images... It is never easy for child actors to transform to actors successfully and be able to  climb to the top... She almost gave up her acting career in 2009- before she started in YB.

I also hope this in just the beginning of her new journey

LOL of course YD isn't your typical 2nd lead. He has all the characteristics of the main lead

While Jihong has all the characteristics of the 2nd lead

And Hyejung can totally be the male lead in another drama, if she is a male of course 

That's what make the drama refreshing.

 

People tend to root for the 2nd lead no matter what just because he can't have it though... lol. This is one clear example when the 2nd lead turned to the main lead 

All the roles are reversed here and clearly why Jihong is the only option- It's not easy to get to Hyejung's heart

This drama is about Hye Jung based on the synopsis, but it's also about Ji Hong because he's the man that's going to help mentor her.  I noticed that the narrative at the beginning and end of each episode was always spoken by Hye Jung for episodes 1 - 5.  Then episode 6 was narrated by Ji Hong when he talked about the value of precious things.

Of course she still has a lot of things to learn... But I'm saying she isn't risking a patient life with her action. As she is at the same level w YD's at her previous place

JH is also the main character which I said other main characters... as 4 main leads. YD and SW will have to grow too

I mentioned about Hyjung 's growth as the main focus point of the drama  because  @Nymeria289  want to see her personal growth when the story is pretty much about that. And we have seen how she has been changing... 

And I agree we will know more about Jihong as the focus is turning to him/his dad next episodes

I too would like to see Hye Jung grow professionally and not see everything as a competition. When she was determined to prove Yoon Do wrong and stubbornly pushed on with the surgery, I was disappointed by her attitude. Not that she stubbornly held her ground, but the reason for it.....she was holding someone's life in her hands.  That's why I love the way Ji Hong is trying to help her see that everything is not a competition; that it's okay to lose. 

 

I think most people forgot that Hyejung wasn't a fellow in her previous hospital and she has done this kind of surgeries many times. KS mentioned it when he did research about her. 

That's why she refused to take training from YD and was confident with the surgery.

What is wrong with her attitude? To prove that she has the capability when someone is doubting her? He has been doubting her since the previous surgery. If she didn't prove it I'm sure he will keep acting like that to her. 

If anyone wrong in the situation it was YD

What JH didn't  like about the event was he realized she was too independent and competitive as he wishes she could lean on him and relax a little.

 

And I agree with @angelangie SC's incident was a trigger point for her character. That was her hopeless and weakest moment. And we can't blame her.

I saw this comment and I agree with this

" She doesn't accept or love people because of this very situation...they will leave her or die. Super realistic because she probably has about 3 people in her world that are close. It was also to establish that she had weaknesses and her emotions were still working."

The drama is actually about Hyejung growth as a person and doctor ( as the original tittle is Female Gangster Hyejung) and other main characters too .. And we could see how she is changing as a person- by the initiation of  holding Jihong hand- she is opening her heart and giving her trust to him or how she decided to live differently 13 years ago. People falling for her because she is charming ( I mean even fangirls are falling for hyejung so how can we blame the guys?),  it doesn't means she is perfect and has no room to grow

Hyejung and SW should be the 2 that will have a most growth in my opinion.

I wasn't sure why the writer made SC to get into the accident. But looking at these pictures I understood

History repeated itself. And Jihong was there with her once again, after 13 years, be there and support her when she was scared and hopeless the most...

That's why once again she opened her heart.... which lead to the initiating hand holding at the end of the episode

Why does hearing her say this makes me want to cry. My heart feels so sad for her.  When Ji Jung is about to kiss her, she says to herself:

But as we know, she doesn't turn her head away. Actually, she even leans into the kiss by standing on her toes.  That's why Ji Hung need to get on her level to kiss her.  After the kiss, she tells herself:

"Unlike my mom, I'm not going to die over love for a man."

Then when Ji Hung catches up to her, he says the sweetest thing that lets us all know that he very much understands Hye Jung's fears:

"The person who knows what loves is, moves first. Don't move. A person who don't know (what love is), don't move until you know."

 

I truly love this scene. Ji Hung has his work cut out for him. I wonder if her mother committed suicide. 

 

 

It's said that her dad accidentally killed her mom... That's why she can't really forgive him even she doesn't hate him... 

And her dad neglected her because he was guilty is making it worse...

Then we know how the stepmom is ...

Knet don't even like IJY after Jackpot yet they had to put her in 1/3 of the preview...

I think PSH is doing OK in terms of as an endorser with all the product placements in the show.. I always end up looking online of what she is wearing and I want one for myself 

 

A lot of items she wore are hot and sold out in different places ( necklace and bags) when her fans looking for them.

PSH's blouse is her top related keywork on right now.... People are  searching to buy. I have seen many bought and posted on IG also lol

This is why her drama usually get a lot of sponsors. It happened during Pinocchio too with Agatha,  Millet padding and Mamonde lipstick

So you need to act fast

 

@maris1 Don't say that... I just count on the Doctors official site since there have been so many information mixed up around. He might really leave an impact in her life since they did mention about the love triangle with him. So let's wait and see

I agree, I don't think there was something going on between PSH and LMH, during Baeksang award when JYP shook LMH hands, Shin Hye laughed at the gesture (and so did Kim Rae Won). I don't think she'd do that if they had something going, heck if it were me I don't even want to be at the same table. But then again, I'm not a celebrity who has to hide my personal feeling in front of everybody. Kekekeke...

 

 

Yes she is playful, caring and super friendly with her costar and that's the reasons she has chemistry with all of them since she makes them conformable.

But her relationship w each of them are not always the same. KRW is a much older senior you can't expect her to treat him the same with her previous costars who she considered friends.  She is acting like a fangirl next to him in my opinion lol and she doesn't do that often

It was obviously awkward during the poster filming and vapp, but based on the bts we've been seeing as of now...the two have definitely become comfortable. Alot of bts where both are smiling, they have beautiful smiles btw, their gazes and their relaxed skinship.

Tbh, I don't believe Shinhye is single either.... It's hard for a girl like her to be single. Like she is pretty popular  smart and good at everything from cooking to sport. And she has a lot of male friends, you can see her male friend like JH adore and care for her.....

But as long as you guys ship rationally and have fun, it'd be no harm. And anything is possible
