  1. Jang Bong Hwan went ALL IN for Cheoljong and got NOTHING in return.

    Wow.

The last thing he did for Cheoljong was to take a bullet for him. As soon as he woke up from coma he went straight to the library to find out about Cheoljong.

This scene was supposed to be funny but I was bawling my eyes out because this is THE ONLY thing that remained for Bong Hwan. The portrait was the only thing validating he was there with Cheoljong at that moment. He won Cheoljong’s trust and love and this is what he got in return? How am I supposed to cope with this? How?

LMAO this ending is even worse then all three Chinese endings combined together. At least in c-version it wasn’t so homophobic. And it’s even worse than Oh My Ghost cause in OMG the ghost at least had chance to say goodbye to a male lead?!!

So let me get this crap straight. I started this journey with Jang Bong Hwan whom I adored and it was his skills, wits, and courage that made it possible for Cheoljong to become the strong wise king.

    Bong Hwan:

    - saved C and HJ from execution

    - saved the banquet

    - supplied Cheoljong with the knowledges

    - stood up against Kim clan

    - saved Cheoljong from the well

    - took a F bullet for him

    Cheoljong

    - “I like you despite your (Bong Hwan’s) flaws.”
    - intrigued and attracted to Bong Hwan’s brash personality

    - admired Bong Hwan’s skills and knowledges

They literally made BW go through their first night enjoying it, made him accepting his feelings for Cheoljong but in the end he just went back like NOTHING ever happened. Like what kind of CRAP is this?!!

And Cheoljong who’s supposed to be smart not recognising it’s it the same person anymore? So Yong won’t have the knowledge or skills of BH if he’s no longer in her body. What kind of TRASH is this. How on Earth did they think this ending is OK??!!!!!!!!!!

    You know what???

JANG BONG HWAN literally CAME FOR NOTHING!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

But wasn't he in relationship with HJ at that time??? :brokenheart:

Maybe as a Joseon man of royal blood he grew up believing that it’s normal to love/like/feel affection towards more than one woman? Joseon kings used to have so many concubines and mistresses, so polygamy was considered a norm for them.

Until he met So Bong who criticised him for it and then he fell so hard for her that he lost interest in other women completely.

  4. Indeed, with only one episode left and so many ends to tie I believe our theory about the reincarnation must be true.

Jang Bong Hwan and Kim So Yong were always the same soul, they were the same person from the start. And if Bong Hwan’s body is dying in future anyway, why can’t So Bong stay in Joseon with the love of her many lives? If Mr Queen wanted to fight against gender stereotypes, this is the best and perfect solution for everyone.

Conservative viewers can’t complain because it’s not technically BL story if the main protagonist is in a woman’s body. They also can’t complain about the soul not having one assigned genre because who says you will always be born as the same gender all over again.

As for me and others who believe love is valid regardless the gender, I’d be happy because even though Mr Queen didn’t show it explicitly, they did convey the message clearly about love being love.

At first I thought the identity crisis would be resolved around episode 15/16, so So Bong could love Cheoljong freely after accepting she was So Yong in her past life.

But the writers have truly driven their point home about accepting your feelings even though you still think you shouldn’t. The message is even more powerful because So Bong did accept her feelings for Cheoljong even before the identity reveal.

She didn’t accept him because she felt relieved she was this woman in her past life, she accepted her love for Cheoljong even though she thought herself as man inside. And if this isn’t love, then what is?

  5. What do they mean by “ending beyond imagination”???? Why it makes me so nervous?

It makes me nervous because we all relied on the spin-off for serving as a hapy epilogue but it looks like the spin-off is more like AU (alternative universe) - there were so many differences between the Bamboo Forest and the actual story.

The spin-off is more like a goodbye gift, a reimagined world where everyone is happy and don’t want to cut each other’s throats. That’s why Hwa Jin was still in the palace and Byeong In was alive in the spin-off.

Also I can’t believe they didn’t show us Cheoljong tasting his wife’s superior cooking... can’t believe Cheoljong hasn’t called her by name...

thank you so much for the translation!

i think i need to learn Korean seriously, so if this kind of scene appear, can react immediately. after i read in twitter, SB said is that your elbow, stop poking. and CJ maybe said, her hand in... we know the rest of it XD

edit: after read Aisling post, it isn't elbow but sword :crazymad:

and my question is, isn't CJ's clothes quite thick, plus that black outwear. why can it feel poked? :D  sorry maybe because I don't know about that knowledge

Cheoljong is of the royal blood. He’s a royal dragon. So his dragon should be impressive too  :glasses:

@shimshimae I think you were reminded of this shot from Scarlet Heart? My anxiety went up just by looking at the comparison.

Two dramas, I think. Lee Joon Gi and Moon Chae Won also 2 dramas. The ones holding the record for the most paired up are Gong Yoo and Jung Yu Mi, they were together in 4 movies. Let's us hope we will see KJH-SHS tandem asap....

The most recent example is Nam Joo Hyuk and Han Ji Min. The director of film Josee loved their chemistry so much in their drama The Light In Your Eyes that he cast them only 2 months after their drama ended. They also had two hot photoshoots together in span of 2 years.

Life’s not fair for us No Touch Couple Antifans. :persevere:

Unlike Cdramaland, Kdramaland rarely re-paired an OTP despite how hot were they. In rare occasions, it took few years for the hot OTP to be back together in other drama.

Indeed, there are only few couples that were cast together again. I don’t know why k-dramaland doesn’t utilise the chemistry between two actors more. I was hoping at least for their photoshoot or appearing in one episode of variety show together.

I can imagine both SHS and KJH are now flooded with offers for new projects.
