I was watching bits of "Pacific Tour"
My fav. performance is Tegomass' "Kiss ~Kaerimichi no Love Song" the best. they were awesome in it.
Tegoshi's ai nante sounds a bit rockish, but I still liked it.
What was NEWS' second and last songs?

Sounds interesting. I'll check it out. I didn't know she's in Atsu-hime.

Arg.. another manufactured boyband. I hope they sing well....
Oh they actually write their own stuff? maybe I'll check them out. LOL i wonder if they actually play the brass instruments. XD
edit:
watched two secs of their lipsynced performance: Sounds catchy, but couldn't they sing live for their debut? Lipsyncing during their debut... doesn't put them on a "good light" for me. Quite a few boybands sing live in their debut nowadays, if they want to compete with the other boybands, they should go live...

Canto's my first language (mother tongue) I spoke it until I went to playschool (aged 5) then spoke english ever since.
Currently:
English - Fluent - accent free/canadian accent
Chinese - Canto - heavy english accent; don't know many words/basic
- Mandarin - i'm a bit slow, but my accent's better than canto - again basic
- I can read a bit of traditional and even less simplified (but it's not that hard to guess simplified)
French - basics; heavy English Accent
-
oh cool. Are you thinking of applying your multi-lingual skills to a career?
ah.. no..>_< I must confess I'm not being really serious about my language studies (it's really for fun. I'm not even taking any courses right now because I can't afford it)
but most likely improving my French would be more practical for me here
-
How long did u study the languages?
Mandarin - 12 years (took it at school)
Korean - I gave up so quickly.. i wouldn't really count that
Japanese - I just started 4 months ago? then I stopped to I think last month (not completely) because I wanted to learn more mandarin before I move out. (use my parents as free teachers - well sort of they're canto but they can read)
-
wow.. you know that many koreans?? I live in Canada too, but most of my friends are Chinese. You must live in a really "asian" city (vancouver or toronto)
My dad watches kdramas.. and he told me the other day that one of his co-worker's Korean and I replied" so what?"
The thing is, Koreans are rare in my city so that's why he thought it was neat to have someone to talk about the dramas with (but she doesn't watch them herself XD)
I started laughing during the line where you wrote your classmate was reading "learn korean" in mandarin class...
I don't think people are over-obsessed about Korean. I think people are more obsessed about the Japanese culture (hehe me included). It's not like I want to be Japanese or Korean, I'm interested in their culture, mostly their entertainment (dramas, music). To fully appreciate it better, I'm trying to learn a bit of Japanese (i gave up korean ).
The ironic thing is, while i was trying learning Japanese , it made me want to pick up Mandarin again (I learned it back when I was in school). Later your classmate's probably going to regret not learning as much as she could in class.... (I do)

I'm currently watching Iljimae and I have to say Junki's awesome in it. He's really good at the historical dramas. i haven't seen his acting since the movie "Fly Daddy Fly", which I have to admit that his acting in that movie was a disappointment for me (his expressions weren't as good). Before FDF, I was Junki obsessed.
But watching Iljimae, I noticed his acting has improved and I'm remembering why I liked Lee Junki. I'm tempted to try out "Time Between Dog and Wolf". I like how he doesn't play the same roles again...even though Iljimae is historical like "king and clown" his character is so different.

Today was perfect for heritage days! I went at ~4pm. It wasn't too hot, not too cold. It didn't rain until after it closed.
ok I lied. there are about 30 tents.
The geleto (Italy) was awesome.. and the Korean pancakes! I stuffed myself silly for ~$ 12

I get annoyed at waiting to attack too, but I think your friend does have a point, it allows you to think. Too bad I don't... haha. Speaking of Phoenix Wright though, I've given up on it for about 2 months... I haven't used any walkthroughs so far, and I'm stuck on the 4th case about Edgeworth. Is that the last?
Lol, like I mentioned above, I'm stuck on the 4th one and stopped playing it for a long while too. I think I'll go use a walkthrough otherwise I'm never going to find out what to do with the old man and the talking parrot.
Nope it's not the last. there's a cool (and really long) one at the end.. watch patiently after the credits!
I hate using walkthroughs, but after presenting evidence/profiles to everyone 3x and thinking that i have found every evidence, I give up... I like how the main character is given the "loser" role. it's funny to watch Edgeworth squirm XD
um, was everyone spoiled by TWEWY or something? doesn't every FF game with the exception of 12 have turn based battles?Perhaps. I really haven't played many rpg games... TWEWY is probably my 4th (first pokemon, tales of symphonia, lunar knights), I thought most rpgs were like tales of symphonia or lunar knights by now (where you just run and attack whoever you want to)
I actually think even Pokemon does battles better than FFIV. At least I don't have to wait so long before picking what i want to do. currently it's my guilty pleasure when I got annoyed with Phoenix wright

i don't think it's that overpriced (but some of my friends agree)
Heritage days - it's celebration of different ethnic groups.
Free admission, but there is food bank donations taken at the gate.
Each tent is a "country" and they host shows, food, and sell stuff (junk, jewelery, ornaments). I think there are about 100 pavilions?
I really like it... I've performed there a couple of times (dancing), and I've volunteered there before. The stuff they sell aren't too expensive. LOL in the china tent, they were selling naruto keychains XD.
You have to buy tickets" for food. Kinda like Taste of Edmonton, but there are more choices, so I like it better.
I recommend checking it out
OH OH. I KNOW ABOUT THE BO. It's kinda like that with every anime place right? It drives me away. Last year I saw someone dressed up as Pocky sticks XD that was so cool. Too many Narutos..
-
Heritage Days is coming up I always enjoyed them...
animathon.. i went for the first time last year (?) and it was overpriced. I paid 20 to get in just to buy Kon (bleach)
A lot of people had BO >_<

I'm just starting Robbin Hobb's Assassin's Apprentice.
It has potential.
-
I dont know how some people can't get inot ffiv =C
lol it's because I hate waiting to attack. I don't know how to make the gauge go faster... I like automatic battles. hitting someone automatically with a press of a button or slash on the stylus. Why not use the DS to it's potential?? I don't have any loyalty to the classic RPG game interface. My friend likes it, gives him time to "think". Me, i'm impatient.
Now i'm hooked to Phoenix Wright. hehe it gets annoying when i can't figure out something... but that's what "walkthroughs" are for XD
-
getting a second "interview"
-
i checked out FFIV.
This is my first time playing FF.. honestly, it's boring. It's like Pokemon with a better storyline. I wished they had a better interface.. like attacking with just one click"A" button or utilizing the stylus instead of waiting your turn to attack...
*goes back to TWEWY

really?!! ah.. i want to play deathnote and HYD.. hm.. tempting
thx for the info

^ try marvel college in downtown (take the LRT to corona (?) then walk). it's about $12 w/ student pricing. Phone before an appt.
-
I borrowed my sister's DS and it's been about a week now... I'm so hooked to "the world ends with you"... I finished the 7 days in 2 days!
Also checking out: lunar knights (not bad, but i'm too lazy to level up right now and i die too easily), nintendog
I tried summon knights (?) and children of mana.. they're too happy for me...
I heard FFIV is awesome... i can't wait
Ah... now I want a DS of my own... i don't want to return it
I wish i knew japanese.. they have some cool games only available in japanese.

Anyway, I just realized...Wu Chun is kinda hot! lol. He's so hot when he's mean haha. Well I've never paid much attention to him, but maybe I should now =p...But yeah, there's really no chemistry between them either. And his friend, the one that keeps bugging him, is annoying, and don't kill me but...he's not so easy on the eyes =X
hehe same thing with me! I saw him in TJ and didn't notice him very much (well i haven't watched that many ep. in TJ) I thought he had more chemistry with Genie than with Angela ....
I didn't think this drama was too bad, if you take it for what it is: a light hearted modern fairytale. It's not something you should think too deeply about (there are so many logic flaws) but it's good in the entertaining sense. I actually managed to finish this without too much skipping around.
I'm so addicted to the theme song, xin wo.
