Captain Ahn is Chilbong-ed by Song Hwa couple of times, she definitely have no feeling for him as a man or love interest, she freezes him in the hube-zone. I think he could never able to escape.

Same thinking. There're is nothing clearer in this show than the feeling from Ik-Jun to SongHwa. How he clingy around her, ask her out, care for her, lost his mind when she announce her sickness or moving to Sokcho,...

I am not convinced by Min Ha in the ss1. She is cute but feel like she might over-controlled in a relationship (she shows some anger when saw Seok Hyung with his farther mistress) She is a vice-versa version of Gyeo Ul. I am looking forward for Seok Hyung ex-wife.

I think now that I was right to feel uncomfortable in Episode 11. After the rewatch, it's clear to me that was the entire point of putting her right in the middle of Chi-hong and Ik-jun. Her discomfiture was exactly the point. She does not see herself as the central object of romance. She wants to be there for her friends and her students as teacher and confidant... but not as a lover.

There's totally comfort and understanding between Song Hwa and Jun Wan, the vibe of them like soul-mate shows from the start episodes. There kind of conversations and actions together I can feel the strong relationship and understanding. Given if it is Jeong Won or Seok Hyung seeing Dr Jang in the elevator with another girls, are they gonna do the same as Jun Wan, confront Dr Jang for her??
Thus SHwa shows her free soul in front of JWan, they are eating couple.
Chi-hong remind me of Chilbong. There will always be an one-side love between them. Not just because she reject him twice and firmly, she has someone in her heart and no room for him.
I said before, I don't think Song Hwa has a thing on Ik-Jun, I just cannot feel it. In ep3, when JunWan tell Song Hwa "There're must be something wrong with Ik-Jun, he look not very well" and ask her to check on him. She said "He will be OK on this own", ignored and went find Chi-hong.

The "hold shoulder" action is between guys and it just saying how close they are as friends. But SongHwa in the case, put her head into JWon shoulder which is I think unnecessary. It is not saying they will grow a romance development later, just showing SongHwa feeling.

But why would he choose her out of anyone else? Because she’s the most reliable candidate that actually listens/cares about the patients beyond surgeries. IkJun cares too but he doesn’t strike JWon as someone reliable enough for such a big program. JunWan, though also care and considerate for his patients, won’t go above and beyond to care about financial hardship; he only focuses on saving the patients instead. SeokHyeong has his own problem and hardships to take care of that he may not have the right mindset and time for it either. So that leaves only SongHwa. She’s also known as their emotional pillar. From the ‘99 year until the present, there’s not one time where it shows JeongWon looking at SongHwa in the way lovers would. To the point that it’s not just oh it can still happen, he’s the only apparent character that would not and will not ever fall in love with SongHwa out of the Lacking Five Boys.
Don't forget we also have ChiHong. Though his attempt to be transferred to Sokcho to be with her is childish and not well-received by the audience, it just shows how much he wants to be with her. To be honest, if she had met him outside and NOT in the hospital setting where she’s taking a mentor role to him, there’s a very high likelihood that she would agree to date him!!
It’s true we have yet learned about SongHwa’s POV and feelings. But one thing for sure is it will NOT be JeongWon. It CANNOT be JeongWon. Their connection was never set to be about Romance.I totally agree with you that JeongWon does not have any special feeling for SongHwa. She just like all other boys in the fives
When SongHwa announced her sickness and said that she will get the result tomorrow morning, JeongWon cared for her verbally as JunWan did. SeokHyeng called her very soon in the morning to check up and Ik Jun came with her to the doctor room even though he had a white night before.
When Ik Jun told that GyeWool was in the ER because of allergic affection, and she was fine by the time, JeongWon lost his mind and run to the ER.
Let's not forget about the small hint writer put into
I have feeling that the person SongHwa liked in the past was JeongWon.
In Ep2, SongHwa is the main vocal to sang "Introduce me a nice person"
And she repeated that line in the car

I am not surprise if it turned out that Andrea or Jun Wan did have crush on Song Hwa in their younger day. We haven't seen enough their flashback yet (What happen in Hawai). But first crush in rl was not always a big deal, coz you moved on. Your past relationship that matter the most, wont always be your first love/crush. Like what happen with Seokhyung, he was definitely moved on from Song Hwa. The past that scar him was his ex wive.
I don't mind if flower garden happen, they were cute together. I also find that Ik-jang pairing will be cute, coz this kind of scenario where you become cupid, then you realise that you want the girl for yourself is a familiar plot in drama. So I didn't just write other possibilities off. What irks me is the characters assasination that happen just because.
ShinLee always write a good and memorable mom character. Interesting that the only moms appeared in season 1 were Andrea's mom and Seokhyung mom. Both Audrey and Rosa saw Song Hwa as an ideal daugther in law figure. So for both Andrea and Seokhyung, I did think mom card will play a big factor. The girl for them must get along with their moms and got their moms approval.
So when someone had this premise, that Rosa was the leader of team flower garden and there's no way Ikjun (team winter garden captain) will win over mom, I kinda agree. Only after I saw that scene: Rosa begged Winter to ask Andrea to stay, I believed that that winter garden couple will be the end game not only for season 1 but also the next two upcoming seasons. Coz mom not only bought winter garden stocks, she bet like her entire assets (hope and dream) into winter garden ship. Mom and Ikjun are now in the same team.
You can say that I am more on mom team rather than any other ship, I am happy if mom Rosa happy (she were already given her other four child to God, so she had every right to be selfish in Andrea case). I did think that God let mom got what she wanted this time. Snowy White Christmas Eve kiss = a sign that even God approve. If you are an asian drama veteran like me, you'll know that cristmas kiss is a classic thrope: the OTP are meant to be. ShinLee did not make ordinary K-Drama, but they use first snow-chrismast trope before: remember Sunwoo and Bora? No wonder their theme song is the same.
Note: other thing. I was even wrong about the ER nurse. I thought she was one of Winter competitor, in flash back we saw that she was probably a winter garden shipper coz she saw Andrea agony in front of ER. So I don't mind if some of my theories while watching this drama were hit or miss. I am not a decective or a drama critics. I also don't know Shinlee personally, I am just a fan, so I definitely cannot read their mind and how will they direct their story. I am just having fun with my interpretation, If i am proven wrong I don't mind owning my mistake.
Hawaii even is mentioned 3 times:
- ep 1 in the VIP ward signing contract of the fives, Jwon acknowlege us about it. IJ and SH are there by the time but they have no idea about it
- ep ** when Jwon tries to tease JWon again in SHwa office, IJ, SHwa was there and dont know about it too, they try ti guess what was happened, they only know that JWan was in Hawaii for a month after he finish his pHD test (or something)
- ep ** when JWan talks with Ik Sun in the dining table at his/her house. JWan says that only JWon and Ik Sun know what happened, dont tell it to Ik Jun because he will tease forever.
In ep4, Jun Wan asks Ik Sun out before the toast truck, he said “I did said I like you, did’nt I? Let’s dating with me”. When did he said it before????
I have a feeling that the Hawaii even is relate to Piegon couple.
I am standing in Jwon ship all the time, he happy I happy (this is Chilbong trauma affected to me) I also standing in mom ship, there’re just so many reason to love her, I always feel delighted at her part, I wish I can grow old like that. And last I standing in Gewoulri ship, coolest princess ever. She is hardworking, self respect, she knows how to work and how to play. She looks serious but she know how to tease people too. It is perfect for me to have Winter Garden endgame forever

Maybe Gweol became more busy and popular in Season 2 then Jwon will get jealous of her work and ask her to quit and marry him so they could spend more time together

Me too. I has a strong feeling that SongHwa love in the student years is Jwon, there is just too many hint about that. I triggered it from ep 2 when SHwa sing a line in the song "Introduce me a good person" - "I want to lean on the shoulder of someone who has a nice hand". And then she did exacly the same in ep 10, she goes out the door with Jwon to get the wood stove she ordered, she put her head on his shoulder. And in this episode, when Jwon riding with Jwan, telling that he has sold his sick car, Jwon is applying the hand cream.
