    I blitzed through the raws using what little bit of mandarin I remember from college, what I've gleaned from watching cdramas, and my memory of the novel lol. So far I am happy with what they've done. Though I need the eng translation to fully understand. I didnt cry as much, but I know I'll cry even more later when I understand everything that was said. I'm not as sad that it's over, but maybe bc I can just rewatch it. I'm going to miss this forum so much though! I'll have to peak in here every now and again to see what ya'll are up to after the hype of the finale dies down. Vengo has a lot of projects in the works, so I'm interested to see what they turn out to be like. Thanks so much for accompanying me through this! I enjoyed this drama 1,000x more bc of chatting with you all. Can't wait til is fully subbed for everyone.

    After rewatching the trailer, it dawned on me that the Blue Sea scenes all appeared as flashbacks. Now, if it is so, I don't really like it. So, we will get all these sadness as main theme with their happy times at the Blue Sea as reminiscent.     Omg, if that's true, I feel it's even sadder... having to watch DH remember FJ, and the happiest tine they have ever both had together.

    I feel like we waited so long, and it's going so fast!! So, is it too early to say I definitely think it's better than L&D? Not that there was anything wrong with L&D, as it is special in it's own way, and the closest we'll get to Moyuan's story. *sigh. I know the author is controversial so we will likely never get MY and Shao Wan's story. I'm so glad I had you all to gush about it with though!!

    I see a lot of VG love for his portrayal of CY/DH, and I wholeheartedly agree but I want to just give DR a shout out too, I feel like she gets type casted in cutesy roles, but she did a great job portraying the subtleties of Aranya so you really do feel she is someone else in those scenes, when DR acts as Aranya she has a sadness that you feel, she seems a bit detached from those around her, whereas FJ isn't like that, she's more cheerful, having been well loved, and well liked. Also, I think they changed the make up for DR as Aranya or maybe even her hair, that's why she looks different,  I think it's the eybrows, they're not as sharp, and are fuller, and darker.

That's her difference from BQ, and why I like her more, too - FJ cuts the ties if she must, but she will not abandon nor decimate those who didn't have anything to do with it.

     

     

    I feel like we never fully understood why BQ chose to forget about YH and about A'li. I imagine that it was bc of many things, but I figured it was bc she already learned "Bai Qian of QingQui" was betrothed to him during her time in Heaven as SuSu, I felt like it was unclear if she knew before she was SuSu too, but I felt like the announcement happened when she was already on Mt. Junji as SuSu, so she didn't know as BQ. I can't  really remember. Anyway, I also did not like BQ bc she abandoned them both, personally I would have gone up to Heaven immediately and ripped my eyes out of Sujin's head, and taken my child back, bc what can they say to her? They've already offended her once when the 2nd prince eloped with her maid, and then they mistreated her as a helpless mortal, so they can't do anything.

     

    I think she was so heartbroken and tired she figured, she would marry Yehua again as BQ, she would be considered A'li's stepmom, so she would see them again, and SJ is no match for BQ even if YH loves her, so it would be better to see them and not remember all her pain, then to live apart from them due to her pain. Her choosing to forget really twisted the knife in YH's heart though, bc he also had the chance to forget her as SuSu, and chose not to. I felt it was out of character for her though, since as Kunlun's17th disciple she had risked everything and stolen MY'S body even though she wasn't supposed to. Before she became SuSu, she went to fix the seal on the Ghost Lord by herself, so she's super bada$$ and unafraid, but chose not to fight for her child??

     

    I feel like FJ mentions her Aunt Bai Qian a lot, and essentially was raised by her, soooo they're very similar, but BQ actions when she first falls to the Peach Orchard is out of character for who she is told to us to be. Even when she regains her memories, she thinks to offend Heaven to break off the engagement bc she thinks YH loves SJ. Also she goes and immediately takes her eyes back.

    Though I think her hiding MY body also influenced her actions.

    DH is a complex character, he's not a "perfect hero", and he shatters a lot of drama troupe/romance novel ideals, and shatters FJ expectations too so I get why some people don't like him. he's an "anti-hero". Reading/watching is like seeing a rock learn how to love, how to be a person, and how to communicate. He gets it wrong a lot of the time though he has good intentions.

     

    There's a line that accurately describes how he decides what to do, it's like he'd use whatever means necessary regardless of "right or wrong" as long as it was useful he didn't really care

    Also when it comes to his XB, he's always surprised by her actions/reactions and isn't quite sure what to do. 

     

    He gives himself credit for seeing FJ's potential and worth, but she's the one I think who had "keener" sight  or just as keen as his lol,  he's also a diamond in the rough who FJ polished.

    TY for there eye candy :relaxed:, I really wanted more QT in the book especially, we get more of him in the drama.  Which is what I was hoping for,  so props to the script writers.

    I wished there was someone who wasn't DH to compete for FJ affections,  XZ doesn't count bc it was still DH.

     

    I actually wasn't rooting for DH at all when I read the book the first (few)times,  and still am on the fence about it every now and then. Lol.

     

    I understand why ppl are saying DH doesn't deserve FJ, but also I understand why DH did what he did. He was jealous,  what he did was self serving,  but also he thought it was harmless. Later when he alters her memories,  he does it knowing what might happen,  but he's more afraid and insecure that he'll lose FJ. Also,  his intentions aren't to make her a fool, it's just to make it easier for him to prove how much he really loves her, bc he knows she wouldn't believe him, he saw this first hand when he's trying to treat her as XZ and she turns him away thinking he's possessed or being coerced but before that when she first woke up after falling into the dream, unconsciously her mind was already suspicious of his intentions and questioning if he was real. She had hoped for him to come so many times to help her,  but was always disappointed.  Also,  he lost her once already, when she was his pet and when that happened she never came back.  I didn't start rooting for DH until he heard how FJ moved on bc she realized she couldn't rely on him,  this was bc up until that point he wasn't really aware that she had really misunderstood his feelings and intentions and he's devastated. Also, he does what he does bc he's aware of FJ temperament and knows she's stubborn in many ways. Once she sets her mind to something she'll give it her all,  until she achieves it and if not she'll give up on it altogether. It doesn't excuse him, but also he suffered for his choices A LOT actually. He spends 200 years uncertain if he'll ever see her again, certain he'll die before he does and the only thing he has are his memories with her.  He's just like CY, only aware of her feelings and all the things she did for him after the fact, he loves her after she's moved on/ gone, and spends the rest of his life trying to get her back.

    I only have the YouTube subtitles, not Viki. I’m going to wait until a Viki is done with the subtitles for the complete drama before resyncing those ones.

Maybe they are trying to fix this because it was lightly brushed off in the novel after they solved Chen Ye and Aranya's problems. 

     

    I always assumed it was also part of the reason she had given up on DJ, bc he altered her memories and lied to her instead of trying to fix things. She mentions it when she's trying to recall her time in AD:

    "Clearly, in her impression, she had always known Xize was Dijun in  
    Aranya's Dream. But sometimes when pieces of her memory surfaced, Su  
    Moye would advise her, “If you really like him, then don't pressure  
    yourself. Perhaps he's just your type, and coincidentally, Dijun and he are  
    both like that.” Who was 'he'? If Xize, hadn't she always known them to be  
    one and the same?
    She couldn't remember when Dijun had said these things to her, and  
    remembered even less when Su Moye had enlightened her thoughts. When  
    she forced herself to remember, she was only left with a splitting migraine  
    for her efforts."
