That would be too much scandal on top of if SJ's real mom really had an affair with LG's father because would that mean LR had liked LG's mother? My brain is already going in loops with our other clues.

I wrote in a hurry so there are some words that make you misunderstand. But I'm talking about Lee Ji Hun's mother ( the boy is LG's doppelgänge)

Like that scene with LG’s doppelgänger’s mom: when she said that “they” will bring her back to life again, director showed her wrist scars. My take is that she’s tried to kill herself several times (having caused her child’s death indirectly) but LR didn’t let her die. But others here interpret this as she’s time-traveled. I don’t like it when I’m confused

Lee Ji Hun's mother is still at ROK. 25 years ago when LL talked about her son's and her husband's death, he forced her not to accuse him and has to live with him (as a wife). I think LL really likes LG’s doppelgänger’s mom because she's beautiful too.

So in last week's episodes, there was a scene where LL went back home and told her to eat alone or she went out to eat, then he went into the dark room and she was crying. She was provided with all her material needs, but she was closely monitored everywhere.

Please don't discuss the ratings of each episode. I don't understand why ranking discussions waste so many pages every week that so many people are tired. We just need to discuss characters, scenes, scripts.

On Romance side - Talking about long distance relationship, it’s not between New York and San Francisco and meeting up every weekend, but between two universes coming and going without knowing when. LG’s “Don’t ask me to come and don’t ask me to leave neither” is a “no string attached” relationship that he is asking JTE to accept. He knew that was heartless request to the girl he loves. But there is a bigger and devastating immanent threat to deal with now, and romance has to be put in the back burner. For those who feel the drama is romance light, please consider that we are actually watching a pair of committed adults trying hard to suppress their personal needs and wants to do their job right for greater good. That’s very romantic to me.

I understand what you said about romance, and I also find that if the romantic scene is too much, it will become boring.
But this movie seems to be a disjointed investigation connection, the arrangement of LL scenes returning to Corea is also in the wrong order (remember ep 3, when KSR come her mother's home, she asked her mother about the umbrella? LL has already returned to Corea, but then LG saw the time stop when JTE tied her hair. The scene is in the wrong order). Ep 7 also seems to continue to make the viewers do not understand in what world LL is proceeding.

In particular, the OST embedded into the scene is very boring, does not help to support the mood of the character.

Talking about LG and JTE, both of them were looking forward to each other, waiting to meet each other to satisfy their worries and expectations, but they had two sayings when they meet together and JTE rushed to hug LG, then it was the end, interrupting the feelings of memory.

I watched "A hundred-year inheritance", there were episodes where the male and female episodes appeared more than 2-3 minutes for a scene, or less than 10 minutes for an episode, but we were still frantically watching the main couple, sometimes laughing contentedly in agonizing pain for them, and always fluttering whenever they met.

As for the scene of eating fried chicken, I understand there is no chicken in LG's world, but just shoot the scene of the two of them walking out of the chicken shop and LG saying something he would adapt in JTE's world, so she doesn't need to try food for him. It doesn't need to spend a lot of time shooting from a chicken disk ... and everything. I still love LMH and KGE, still watching this drama but I feel that the producer disrespects the audience, wasting time on advertising.

I felt it was a waste of interaction and acting ability of LMH and KGE. I don't want to be distracted with "The King", so I don't dare to watch many other dramas at the same time, even though it's the drama of my favorite actor.

I'm sorry. I shouldn't have said that this would make some fans less emotional towards "The King".

@graceyco my heart... why must they make it so easy to ship them?

This couple will be the death of me. They’re too cute to handle.

Just saying, lmh never promoted photos of him and JJH during LOTBS. What does this mean? Let me be delulu for a second. I ship them so hard!

Less than 4 hours to go.

    @graceyco @Heretorant @SophieH

So, how about LMH posting photos of their press conference on Nexflix before? Does it mean the same thing?

    I really don't know so I asked you :)

EDIT : The beginning of Episode 6, the scene with JTE conversing with the PM lady and she told her that she is traveling and will be going home soon. Did ya'll caught Lee Gon's gazing at her with a sad eyes. He is not happy with the fact that JTE has to go home. :(

Yes, he seems to be able to see through JTE's mind. Or the moment she fixated for dinner, he saw her feelings.

If you didn't mention the scene of JTE meeting KSR, I might be lazy not to write this post. KGE's acting must say that extremely delicate in each scene. Although she is not beautiful, she's very attractive, not being outdone by a handsome, charming LMH. :)

Speaking of JTE, from the moment she arrived in LG's world, he was always around her, and TE was in defense, seeming indifferent to LG's affection. But when KSR appeared in front of both of them, it was obvious that the storm in TE's heart was rebelling, she was confused and tried to stay calm in front of LG and KSR. For her, how could she know if LG would marry KSR later?

I've like when TE said that she was a fan of KSR, she was very cleverly dodged to protect her self-esteem.:( TE didn't like KSR, she had side-glance when KSR was surrounded by many people. On the outside TE is polite to KSR, but in her mind she must envy KSR who is supported by the people to marry LG.

And TE only returned to being calm after sitting on the helicopter, she tried to regain her composure without paying attention to the people around her, just watching the moonlight through the small window. I love how the TE looks innocent as never happened when asking LG about the moon.

@romance06 I am flattered to be called a friend of yours. Thanks!! It's been fun hanging out here with everyone sleuthing/theorizing plots, gawking the king and queen, and waiting for tidbits before the weekend episodes. So glad we are half way through to next episode. :)

Hello, I'm sorry for replying too late, these two days I'm too busy.

I'm same as you, so happy to be able to enjoy "The King" with everyone and share all the feelings together, sometimes flapping my thighs, how does this friend get my point right which I cannot describe in words, and feel closer to people. :)
I'm glad to read more of your posts in the next episodes.:)

Ok, Don't hate me, But am i the only one feel like the Kiss a little bit flat and rushed. It's cute and sweet. But, it lacks that sparks and magic. Maybe i have such expectation knowing how each actor has done their kiss scene, i was expecting a bit more passion???and i wish that JTE would at least close her eyes instead of staring. The Hug at the end had more impact and emotional weight for me as their feeling are now mutual.

But, i understand that maybe this was not meant to be that magical Kiss, it was just Lee Gon can't control himself (hello, didn't he just told JTE that if she spending the night she would be sleeping in his room?)hehe.... and it was him trying to make a point to tae Eul and also answer her question. So i understand the reasons behind it, but i wish they would hold off and wait until there is mutual feeling and we would get a better one.

"The KISS in ep5 was well written and executed by both lead actors. It conveyed so much of both giver and receiver's state of mind. The giver of this kiss used it to answer receiver's question or rather challenge "JTE: this is your first date". Instead if answering it verbally,  the king slowly leaned in and kissed her with all tenderness. As viewer, I felt the longing of wanting to meet and know her for years, , respect he has for her as person who is brave, the love he feels for her as the fated one. The kiss is so pure.

The receiver JTE, having just had her world turned upside down, was still thinking what the hack just happened. Her head was analyzing but her heart was losing it. " (I'm sorry. I can't remember the author's nick)

This is a comment from a friend in the thread that I found very accurate. I copied it for myself.

I also want to add that LG always takes advantage of the opportunity at all times to show his sincere affection, sometimes teasing JTE. :) He is considerate and cares about the smallest things for JTE.  And JTE always knows how to change the topic or to avoid it quietly to protect the wall that is about to collapse.

As the scene in the kitchen, LG knew how to use JTE's words to say "I'll let you sleep in my bed". His bed sleeps, the room he stays in, where his odour and footsteps are in every corner of the room, with a living space that contains warmth from him,  is not a bleak room just for guests to stay temporary.

In ep6, acting through LMH's eyes is daebak,  especially the scene in the kitchen, his emotions are constantly changing through his eyes. LG was just telling a sad story, then his smile looked like waiting from JTE's hug, suddenly turned angry when TE asked to return, he sulked and said he would not let her leave, then the light bitter eyes said that even if he ordered the command, TE could not go. For me, this is the scene which LMH looks most glamour.  What a pity that I couldn't find the gif to upload.

    qw5SkaD.jpg

As for the end scene ep6, I don't know if I got the wrong feeling, but I feel when LG is waiting for JTE to come back home, it seems that his heart is both filled with nostalgia for her and angry at himself, it is reflected in the light LG's eyes. After JTE have answered with her nod to his two questions, it became calm with only nostalgia.

And I must add that I seriously love the main villain. So far all his scenes are of him alone without any help from any of the other main actors but he carries all the scenes quite well. I am so impressed with his acting!!:) And he is already knocking at JTE's door now. Things are going to get very interesting

Lee Jung Jin became famous since the drama "Love story in Harvard", after that he starred in "9 end 2 outs" very well. In 2013, LJJ also played in the drama " A Hundred Year Inheritance" with Engene, the film on topic of family, humor, romance. If you have time, check out these three dramas.

    Ep. 7 Preview Translation

LG : Has something happened to you ? Were you threatened by someone?

JTE : Guess that means it will happen

LG : My heart needs consolation, so I will hold your hand

Na Ri : One of the doppelgangers always end up dying

JY : I will shoot him if you ask me to

    someone : We found Luna

    LG: The same face exists

    stranger : Prince Imperial Geum

JY : I won't be able to protect you here, Your Majesty

LG : He should know already

JTE : When you meet the person....

LG : You must kill him as soon as you found him. It's the King's order.

It was Lee Jong In's voice.

I guess when LG arrives at the world of TE, Lee Lim will return to kill Lee Jong In. Sadly, LJI have just told the truth to LG, they should have a lot of things to share together. Beside LG, Lee Jong In and Lady Noh like as his parents.:(

  10. Ep 6 is so good, thrilling, suspense and cute.

I'm very happy that JTE is almost glassy, lost her soul when she returned to her world, even though she continues to work for her.

Only two days with LG, in the unfamiliar world, having no relationship with her except Lee Gon, none of her past, but it made her feel a little insipidity, even reduce her feeling of attachment to colleagues who have worked together for many years.

The image of her returning home and hugging her father, it was just strengthening her empty mind in the meantime.

  11. Lady Noh, did you know that you are betrayed by your talisman? :bawling:

Or is this talismane effect on both sides, it draws both people together?

After the girl was seduced by our king and brought to his palace:love:, he was completely fascinated by the girl:heart:.  Previously he kept demanding to behead you-Lady Noh or Yeong in order to keep his dignity, now standing in front of the girl, he lost it all, became the girl's crazy fan.:yum:

One piece of advice, if you’re using the national surveilance system for your personal reasons to track down a man because he disappeared  from your life, it’s time to seriously re-evaluate what your relationship with him is.

Lee Gon always kept going to Tae Eul and now that he’s gone it’s her who keeps trying to find him and learn about him.

They both think about each other but it’s really TE who is much more affected by the separation. In the short time they spent together, Lee Gon became a constant in her life and now that he’s gone, there is this emptiness in her life after he left behind. It’s painfully clear how much she misses him and how curious she’s about him: she remembers the things he said to her, visits the places where they spent time together, reads books about parallel worlds, retracts his movements and even munches on an organic carrot because of his 7th grade civil servant! The girl has it bad, she only doesn’t know it yet!

There is something really bittersweet about the fact that no matter how much she tries and looks for him she can never find him unless he comes to her because he literally doesn’t exist in her world. He left it just as unexpectedly and quickly as he had entered it. I love how the drama employs symbolic and visual means to convey this sense of melancholy and emptiness:

    • the empty seat in the library,
    • the bare trees and the colourless bleakness and cold in his absence starkly constrasting with the yellow vibrancy full of life and sunlight and warmth when he's with her,
    • the water symbolically reflects the truth about the world each time - a world in which Lee Gon exists and is lovingly gazing at Tae Eul and a world where he's gone and she’s searching for him.

THE SHEER DEPTH OF THIS SHOW!

Thanks your post. I wanted to write this but suddenly I couldn't write.

While LG had always remembered and expected to see her for the past 25 years, and after more than a week he had been in her world, he gradually accepted to let go of her when he realized he is nothing in her mind :heartbreak:.

Hearing Tae Eul telling Shin Jea to buy 2 ice creams for 2 people, LG's thoughts echoed to 3 people, then the picture of her sharing half of ice cream for SJ then LG suddenly stopped:heartbreak: .

    7CIcm7R.jpg

    JACCzgt.jpg

    HdX7dk7.jpg

He accepted to leave her, only bringing the book Kim So Vol, so that when he reminds her every night, he would read the poem as his heart rings her name but could not see her silhouette anywhere.

So when he returned to her world, he just wanted to see and ask if she was okay. Then he goes right away without hesitation.  Although Lee Gon's words were softly spoken and he had some attachment, he kept his dignity.

    [/spoiler]

And Tae Eul, after so many days of searching, now she begins to believe in him, just trying to fight against herself, so when he told her to go with him, she said "If you lie, you will die".
