i hope pillow book will have the same popularity as untamed..it's crazy how popular this drama is. 9.3 score on mydramalist There are a lot of similarities between the two dramas, but as L&D progresses, the more it comes into it's own. I noticed a lot of subtle plot devices and events that were very similar to what happened in TMOBP but with a different coat of paint. I took it as the director likes to pull from her favorite bag of tricks; and the reason the two match in ways, is that is what the director likes. Take the lead, Ju Chen and Ye Hua for example, I get the feeling that the strong, mature, silent type; that burns with passion on the inside is perhaps what the director has a personal taste for. What a fangirl. lol
But honestly L&D is so enjoyable. I'm up to about episode 31 one now and the what makes L&D stand out, starts to shine during this current arc I'm in. It gets very emotional and touching, with plenty of lovable characters. Story wise, it's a humble start and grows stronger with progression. It's never been boring. I think the pacing is well done. Not to mention, costume, music and the CGI are all top notch.
The leads also have very good chemistry together, and the side characters and their love stories are not uninteresting. I'm really excited to see where each potential romance goes. There's even a bit of second lead syndrome, where you find yourself rooting for the second guy, even though you still love the main paring. Crazy.
I heard it has a happy ending too. So I'm sure that whatever happens, at least I know that the book will be closed nicely.
I would say that depending on your preferences, L&D is either better than TMOPB, or TMOPB will always be superior. They are that close in qualities, it just comes down to the person watching.

Just want to chime in and say that Love and Destiny is fantastic. It's such a good drama, and it's such a shame the subs are going at a snails pace. I would recommend it to any drama lover.

Since right from the announcement of the Pillow Book, I was already figuring that It would be a whole year before we would get to see it, so 2020 was already what I had in mind. I can still wait, it's not like I have a choice.

I would take them with a grain of salt. Different people are going to like different things and make their opinions based on their tastes.
Also, I found TMOPB hard to get into at first. I was almost going to drop it, until Feng Jiu showed up, and regained my interest. Some dramas just take a while to get those gears moving.

It's not a book, but the production team is the same and they claim it's the same universe as Peach Blossoms. I don't know if that means this is a different take on the world of Peach blossoms or if this a prequel far before the events of Peach Blossoms. If so, shouldn't Dong Hua's character still exist. I don't know if these questions will be answered in the drama.

The post mentions sweet and sour fish and baked sweet potatoes. I need to refresh my memory of the book because I only remember Feng Jiu endured the fish and enjoyed the taters when she was a fox. I wonder.

For sure they will air it in 2020. The people are looking forward to this. I am sure they moved this because of Love and Destiny...so that LAD will not steal all the spotlight.

L&D might become as popular, but The Pillow Book already has a huge following. It would be a bummer if they think L&D needs to be first, because I don't think the dramas will even be similar, despite originating from the same source. Both dramas are meant to appeal to the two types of fans it created after Peach Blossoms; Ye Hua + Bai Qian shippers and Dong Hua + Feng Jiu shippers. (Well, there was that the third couple of the Demon Princess and the constable, lol whom my sister liked the best, go figure.)
So no doubt to keep the Peach Blossom hype train running for as long as it can go, one will air first, then after sometime, the next one. I'll likely watch both even though I know which one has my heart. I'm sure I can wait for as long as it takes to air. There are other dramas in the meantime.

Guys I don't like to gossip or jump into a conversation outside of just Pillow Book talk,
but I will state one thing.
It's really more beneficial if Vengo and Reba are friends and not a couple. A potential break-up would make looking back on their dramas a little hard to watch.
Besides, as friends, the familiarity adds to the chemistry. They look more comfortable on screen.
That's just my two cents.

I wasn't aware I missed that one, thanks. I just added it in, although I haven't tested the timing. It's possible it's out of sync like 39. When I downloaded all these subs for youtube, I found I had to adjust the timing because directly from VIKI, there were slightly off. Problem is, I forgot the amount of time I adjusted them too, and the website I used to do that, so 39 and 31 which I had missed may or may not need tweaking.

If you guys have VLC player, I can upload the episode subtitles to my dropbox account. They're all in English and pulled from Rukuten Viki. However because these are fan effort translations, sometimes the subtitles are incomplete and from time to time scenes will lack subtitles. And for episode 39, I think that one might be out of sync, but that's possible to fix.
The episodes where V+R appear together are 1, 17, 22, 23, 24, 25, 26, 29, 32, 33, 34, 36, 37 and 40
I believe.

About V-Love;
I thought the same thing to and was bracing myself because I didn't want Vengo's and Reba's characters to split.:P But it turns out It was only a flashback episode explaining the unseen events from the first episode. Yang Mi had such a bit part in the whole drama, it was more like a guest appearance, she's technically only around at the beginning of the drama. I downloaded all the subs for v-love and attempted to uploaded them to the youtube vid's. Unfortunately not long after they were hit with copyright takedowns.
