I see some difference between preview in today's episode and the preview that is uploaded in the Youtube by TVN,

the mom embracing younger YJ  in the credits of today's episode for next week that appears to be the younger version (actress Lee so kyung) WHILE in the preview that is uploaded in the Youtube the mom in the flashback appears to be the current actress (aged -mom Kim Hye Ok)

Is it editing problem or they decide to keep the current mom (Kim Hye Ok)  acting in the flashback version as well?

I feel like they'll intersperse the older and younger versions of mum in the flashbacks just to show how confused Sung-yeon is? I actually appreciate that they show the entirety of his world breaking down--really makes the impact of the consequences of his lying so much more impressive.

  2. This is the part in the webtoon where the flashbacks go on for at least like, five chapters, and I am so looking forward to the drama version of everything!! The best thing about Mi-so and Young-joon is that they don't really have misunderstandings for too long, in the webtoon or drama both, and I really hope they adapt this bit of the webtoon as faithfully as they can because it's frankly one of the best written parts to me!

  3. AHHHH I just missed like, everything, so here's my contribution for the night:

    PREVIEW

Past Young-joon: Do you know I am?

Young-joon now: What did you say to Mi-so? What did you say to make her faint?

Mi-so: There's nothing in this world that you can hide forever.

Also poor Pil-nam, Mal-hee, and Mi-so, now that we've seen how happy their family was before their mother passed away. CRIES

  4. The sisters: I get them though, because what they’ve heard about Young-joon from Mi-so over the last nine years has been him being a perfectionist, a narcissist, as well as a workholic that demands the same from his secretary, so why would they feel like he’s a good match for their younger sister? They have seen her go out of her way for her job, work overtime because of him, as well as deal with his multiple requests for perfection, and honestly, pre-Mi-so-resignation Young-joon was quite over the top. It’s clear that they think the world of Mi-so, because she’s a kind, responsible, and capable person who loves her family so dang much, so Young-joon, who’s decidedly not the same, is definitely not up to standards in their books.

Besides, they are not wrong in worrying about the difference in family backgrounds: we know that the Lees are great people, but there are so many more weird rich folks out there. Despite Mi-so’s obvious competence and capabilities, she can always be judged as not being up to par because she didn’t go to university, and her sisters know that. So no matter how annoying they may sound, I do feel like they have valid points. We know how Young-joon has changed, but they don’t, mostly because Mi-so hasn’t said anything (yet).

      Reveal hidden contents

in the webtoon it is just a random lady?

because in the novel it is YJ's father's ex mistress. But i guess it sort of doesnt matter.

    Spoiler

Yup, wasn't mentioned in the webtoon so she's just a lady who happened to be living nearby with a tragic story I guess. But the drama may be gunning for that direction though, because of how Mum seems to be tired of Dad a lot. Maybe it's foreshadowing of how he betrayed her once in the past? That would make Young-joon's decision to play amnesiac a lot sadder though ahhhh.

  6. He smiles as he reads what she wrote to him. Finally we get to see his face for sure as he leads her back home. Baby Mi-so tells him that she wants to marry him, and he says no, you have to marry someone you love. And she says we can just love each other! Baby Young-joon says alright then, and they pinky promise. OMG SO SAD AND SWEET.

Sung-yeon sees him reading the notebook and tells him not to touch it, since it's precious to him. Ugh. Young-joon gets up to walk out, and Sung-yeon tells him thanks, for allowing him to meet Mi-so and for abandoning him on that day. UGH STOP IT. Young-joon says fine, be thankful to me in the future as well, since you'll be meeting Mi-so because of me as well, since she'll be by my side. Sung-yeon thinks aloud to himself that nobody knows that quite yet.

Mum and Young-joon chat in the hallway. He says it'll be nice if she didn't call on Mi-so like that anymore, since she's busy, and Mum is slightly taken aback. Young-joon and Yoo-shik have a drink together. Yoo-shik asks why he's down, and wonders if it's about Mi-so. He dispenses great advice about how both of them have to be ~naked~ about their feelings to each other. Basically, take off your heart's underpants. He knows that Young-joon is hiding something from Mi-so. Yoo-shik says that he has experience, what with his divorce at all LOL. But he's right, if you hide something from someone at the very beginning, it's the start of more hiding from each other. Young-joon says it isn't that easy, because there is a lot of pain behind it. They both sigh.

Mi-so dreams in bed of the kidnapping incident and jolts awake. She thinks about how she should be remembering everything since she's met Oppa again now, but she's not sure anymore. Young-joon texts just then, asking if she's slept, but she says she's awake now. She runs to her window and spots him outside. He spots her and waves. Aw.

    Ad time.

  7. Young-joon walks into the office, and has the most difficult time telling her what he wants to say. Instead he grabs the sweet from Mi-so's hands and EATS it. It's her last one, she says, and he's all what about it HAHAHA. Oh my god these two. He walks off, then turns back and tells her that he'll overcome it. Not being able to kiss her, that is.

    Ad time!

Ji-ah hands the tablet over to Gwi-nam, who is super pleased. He tells her that he's SO grateful to her. He then explains to her that he found most of the ribbons during the competition, so why are they getting one tablet each? Can't she see how grateful he is to her? LOL this scrooge. He reminds her to zip it again, and she snaps back at him LOL. He then asks her when she's going to move in, and he snarks at her that it's the kind of day that singles will waste the most food when they order in. WHY is he so mean??

The VP department is shocked when Se-ra walks in with braids LMAO. Se-ra explains in an extra cutesy voice that she wants to change up her image, and momentarily drops the act when her colleague questions her HAHAHAHA. Manager says that she looks like his mum when she took her graduation pic, and they discuss how she looks like she's from the 70s. Secretary Yang cannot help but laugh haha. Aw don't make fun of Se-ra! She looks distraught and walks right back out. Secretary Yang does look quite concerned. Se-ra doesn't know why she cares so much about Secretary Yang anyway! Well cos you like him, duh.

Sung-yeon reads Mi-so's childhood notebook again, smiling at the cute. Sigh you. He sits down with Mum, who has been reading his books. She asks what he's been reading, and he says that he's been reading a notebook instead. Sung-yeon explains that it's from the girl who was with him during the kidnapping, and Mum looks quite distressed. He says that someone else was with him during the incident, and Mum says that no, he was found alone at the police station after the incident. He tells her that someone was with him, and Mum says that it's impossible. Sung-yeon asks if she isn't curious as to who it is, and it's someone that she knows too. He then tells her that it's Mi-so, and Mum looks seriously shocked.

Mi-so thinks back on Young-joon saying that there's nothing he can't overcome, and wonders what he means by that. Mum calls, and invites Mi-so over to see her for a bit. So Mi-so goes over, and Mum apologises for asking her to come even if she's busy. She's heard Sung-yeon's story about Mi-so being with him during the kidnapping and asks if it's true. Mi-so confirms it, and Mum asks if she really cannot remember anything during the kidnapping? Mi-so tells her what she can remember, and describes the place they were trapped in together. The oppa kept calling her a fool, she says. Mum is on the verge of tears, as Mi-so tells her of how the oppa protected her.

Mum cries, and Mi-so hands her a piece of tissue. She says she's alright, and asks how their "Hyunie" brought her home. Mi-so says that he sent her all the way home, and says she remembers him as someone kind and nice. Mum asks what he was wearing, and Mi-so describes his shirt. Mum corrects her and tells her that it was a jacket specially made for him by a designer who thought it only fit him, and she tells Mi-so about all the regrets she has about the kidnapping. Mi-so listens as Mum tells her about all the pain they went through after the kidnapping, especially Young-joon.

Mi-so asks why Young-joon doesn't remember anything from his childhood, and Mum says that it was just one morning, when he suddenly said that he didn't remember anything anymore. Mi-so looks super suspicious, when Sung-yeon walks in in his bathrobe, happy to see her. He asks her to stay for lunch, and says that he'll send her back. Mi-so then notices that there are no scars on his ankles. Mum concludes with saying that she's very grateful for Mi-so having been there that night.

Sung-yeon walks Mi-so out and tells her that it's finally the day of his book concert. He says that he's happy to have agreed to it, since it led him to her. He says that he gets cold during the winter, and Mi-so is suspicious again. She thinks about it on the bus and thinks back to Young-joon, who had said the exact opposite thing. She thinks that it can't be.

Young-joon, in the meantime, has Mi-so's notebook with him. HOW??

  8. Mi-so preps for the big date! Cue dress-up sequence. She can't decide on what to wear but come on, Young-joon is probably gonna love her even if she wears a sack. LOL Hardworking Cow is covered in a pile of clothes by the end of it. She rushes to Young-joon's place, nervous but super pretty though!

She sees Young-joon struggling with his barbecue, and he's just So. Taken. with how pretty she looks. I LOVE THIS OTP. Young-joon tells her that she's pretty today, and she thanks him. She asks what's up with the barbecue jig, and he says it's for her because they didn't get to eat any meat last night. LOL he literally throws salt on the meat but the fire gets out of control. Oh no the meat's all burnt! She's like it's ok we'll just grill more again and he's all oh I have no more meat. He burnt everything HAHAHHAA. Oh poor Mi-so. He suggests going out to get more meat, but she's like no. NO.

Cue Domino's Pizza PPL hahaha oh god. He's sad that they didn't get to eat the meat but she's like I like pizza too. They offer each other slices at the same time! SO CUTE. Young-joon spots something on the side of her mouth and he rubs it off for her. SO MUCH TENSION. They're almost about to kiss when he closes his eyes... and remembers the ghosts of his past again. Their eyes spring open and everything is awk. She's like where are you gonna push me this time? I've prepped myself! AND THEN YOO-SHIK WALKS IN ON THE MOMENT HAHAHAHHAHAHA. Yoo-shik;s all, didn't know you had a guest I brought alcohol!! He turns to leave but Mi-so runs off first HAHA dooode. Meanwhile Yoo-shik prostrates himself in guilt in front of Young-joon HAHAHA. This is way too funny.

Mi-so agonises about the almost-kiss again. She's sure that there has to be a reason for him to behave this way. At the office, Yoo-shik runs into the lift with Mi-so, and they are SUPER awk. He apologises for yesterday, and says he didn't even know they were together last night. Mi-so tries to salvage the situation and says IT WAS TOTALLY NOTHING NO WORRIES and the encounter ends in Yoo-shik tripping out of the lift LOL. Mi-so notices his ankles, and asks about Young-joon's. Yoo-shik says that when they played rugby/football in college, he saw scars on both his ankles. Looked like something had bound his feet together for a long period of time. He uses an example of this dog he saw on TV, and Mi-so is quite horrified. Yoo-shik says that he has no idea why Young-joon got the scars, but it was probably an accident yeah. But he does wonder, why does he have those scars? No matter what, the seeds of doubt are planted in Mi-so's mind now.

Mi-so writes in her notebook, confused and suspicious. Young-joon comes into the office, she greets him, and he goes into his office, wondering what she feels about yesterday. He so totally wanted to do it yesterday! Ji-ah is super confused when she comes in with tea LOL. The VP department is given macarons by Secretary Seol, and she notices that Se-ra is missing. She decides to give her three, instead of the two, that everyone else gets and says that she likes Se-ra. Secretary Yang's ears perk up at that LOL. Manager gets called upon by Young-joon, and in the office, presents him with documents as well as a poster for Yumyeong Land's summer festival. Once Young-joon sees the kissing couple on the poster... HAHAHAHAHAHA he totally recalls last night's fail and crushes the thing. Manager apologises and says they'll redo it, leaving an equally crushed Young-joon in the office hahaha. He thinks to himself, how does he go about succeeding at their first kiss??

Se-ra returns to the office, super tired. She sees the macarons on her desk, and Manager says they were given to her by a person who likes her. She sees Secretary Yang return to his desk in all his heroic music glory and assumes that they were given by him HAHAHA. Omg love these two. She sends a text to him telling that she'll eat them well, and is super happy. But her colleague bursts her bubble by telling her that Secretary Seol gave them to her. HAHAHAH oh dear. She storms off and meets Secretary Yang in the lift lobby. He calls her and asks her what the text means aw. She babbles an excuse and walks off, all embarrassed. She wonders why he did that, if he doesn't like her? She remembers what he said about liking cute women... and decides on a game plan LOL.

Young-joon replays the failed kiss again and texts Mi-so that he will definitely give her a sweet kiss... Ok he tries again, telling her this time that he has a trauma... ok box those words away again honey. Mi-so gives the first prize for the competition during the workshop to Ji-ah, asking her to give it to Gwi-nam.

  9. EPISODE 8

We get a recap of the last scene of the last episode as usual. Beautiful cinematography ahhh. Aw the looks in their eyes! He tells her that her place is right next to him and she laughs. AW. So they walk back together, happy for now.

Mi-so asks LOL why did he push her away when they were about to kiss. She knows that there must be a reason behind it and he's super embarrassed lol. But he's promised to tell her everything, so he tells her: he sees ghosts when he closes his eyes. She's concerned and asks when did it first happen and if he has nightmares as well. He's like lol do you know any exorcists and SCARES her. She's annoyed and asks if he was lying before. Mi-so runs back to the house and Young-joon follows, running after her.

The rest of the VP department are having a great time with meat and what not. LOL Se-ra gifts Secretary Yang with a piece of meat. Gwi-nam boasts of his drinking capabilities. Secretary Yang says that he doesn't drink because he needs to be alert at all time. Se-ra asks what his ideal type is and he says "a cute woman" and everyone just oohs and ahhhhs. HAHAHAH. Gwi-nam and Manager fight to give Young-joon their jackets lmao. Secretary Seol notes something about the two of them, and everyone studies them curiously. She's all, are the two of you....... DID YOU GO FOR BEEF WITHOUT US??? Manager's all SORRY BOUT THAT LET US SERVE YOU NOW and they sit down, having dodged a bullet there. There's no more meat left though HAHAHAHA. There's a lot of finger pointing going around hahaha about who ate the most. Manager offers to go get more meat, and Gwi-nam volunteers too in his haste to get into Young-joon's good books.

Mi-so says they'll just eat the ramyeon, since he likes it, and everyone's like he likes ramyeon?? LOL great callback there. Gwi-nam and Manager RUSH to get the ramyeon ready lmao these two. So Young-joon and Mi-so wait for their ramyeon to be ready, having a cute conversation. They begin to eat, and Young-joon gets scalded lmao. Mi-so helps him fold the cover into the handy ol' cup they all use in dramas, and he's super confused. Hahaha love all the ramyeon scenes. They eat together and it's super sweet. He's like a child omg. They enjoy the ramyeon and Young-joon asks for kimchi. He says it tastes better when she gives it to him aw!

The ladies go to bed, and Secretary Seol is unwilling haha. Mi-so turns off the lights and lies down as well. Young-joon texts her, telling her to sleep well and giving her permission to dream of him LOL. Mi-so hides under her blanket and thanks him for his permission. Young-joon wonders if Mi-so will appear in his dreams tonight danggg. It's morning, and she spots Young-joon's car leaving. She calls him and asks where he's going. He needs to go back to the office for more work, and she says she'll prepare the materials as soon as possible. He says it's alright and that she should enjoy her workshop. AW. He texts her and tells her to come to his house to play. And he's prepared an awesome present for her! Se-ra spots her smiling to herself and teases her HAHAHA. She's like oh no it's from the supermarket! HAHAHA. Young-joon keeps whipping his phone out to look for her replies, wondering why she's so slow, and Secretary Yang think he's talking about his car speed LOL. Mi-si texts back saying that she looks forward to seeing it and LOL his mouth acrobatics.

Young-joon shows off his English ~skills~ with foreign business partners. Yoo-shik is super pleased with the closing of the deal but his hug is denied by Young-joon lol. Young-joon asks him to go with him to the supermarket, so that he can prep for his barbecue. Yoo-shik knows his way around the supermarket man, while his owner just watches LOL. He's all how delicious will it be with me, the best chef around? LOL Young-joon just gets into his car after the grocery shopping is over and DRIVES OFF. Aw Yoo-shik, abandoned again. At least he puts the cart back.

The VP deparment gets back to the office from their workshop, happy and rested. Gwi-nam takes his leave, as does Mi-so. Se-ra is all, SECRETARY KIM IS GOING ON A DATE FOR REALS. Everyone doesn't believe her since Sec Kim is always around the VP, and Secretary Seol is all she must be doing work with the VP now oh no!! Manager wants to go for a meal but everyone just leaves lol.

All this talk about new and interesting (wink wink) developments in the webtoon has made me too curious. Gaahhh!!!

The Chinese one I am reading has stopped ...

At the part where he stuffed something small into his pocket - it looked like a ring box.

So those who are reading the latest, has it developed from there? If so, could you tell me where (non-subscription) I may read it too please? I can’t understand Korean though. Thanks a mil!!

    Spoiler

He proposes, their parents meet each other,  a bit of a jealousy incident, Mi-so gets preggers (?).

I mean, her most important plan after quitting was to find her childhood oppa, but that's been done as well. So now what? But then I suddenly thought about her reasons to quit in the first place, which was to find love, get married, do what a normal woman her age does, etc. And for her, this was enough. I didn't realize my thoughts that this is still a valid dream, and just because she didn't declare anything more revolutionary (I guess???) doesn't mean her simple dream isn't any different. It's just like in Fight My Way when Ae Ra's best friend (Seol Hee)'s dream was to become a mother. A simple but very important dream for that character, just as MS's dream of finding love and having someone take care of her. MS and YJ meeting as children and later was fate but also from the fruits of their labor building up into each other's halves through all those years working together. It may not have been the normal, everyday romance MS was probably idealizing/looking for, but there's no way she can just ignore what they have for each other. I'm just glad they're adults who didn't make their professional lives as a hinderance to their budding romance ("Oh what would others think?").

    2

100% agree with how wanting to fall in love and get married is a totally valid dream. Dreams and ambitions come in all sorts of forms and shapes, and who's to say that a woman's wrong for putting marriage at the top of her priority list if she wants to? Everyone's definition of success is different: some ladies want to be corporate powerhouses, while others want to be successful wives and mothers. They're both equally valid ambitions, and I don't think we should discount anyone's dream to be a stay-home mum/anything else similar simply because those aren't "ambitious enough". Being a good mother is about as hard as running a Fortune 100 company I'd reckon. Raising humans to be the best ones they can is a seriously monumental task.

  12. I think the one scene I'm really looking forward to seeing isn't actually any one of the super squee kiss scenes, but instead

    Spoiler

the bit where Mi-so tells Sung-yeon straight up that she knows he's not telling the truth, and that he should stop hurting Young-joon and everyone else around him. Truly is a winning moment of characterisation for Mi-so, and I can so see Park Min-young killing that scene so, so hard. My only hope is that Lee Tae-hwan doesn't get outacted oh no!

  13. I was wondering when they’d mention Young-joon’s dog and lo and behold! Big Bang Andromeda Supernova Sonic made his debut today. In any case, the metaphor used by Young-joon was pretty poetic—even if you think it’s gone, it’s still there. Like the bones Big Bang Andromeda Supernova Sonic buried, these memories are probably all rotten by now. I get that he wants to protect Mi-so from the horrific experience, but I also love that she has her own autonomy and mind, and is always firm in telling Young-joon what she wants and why she does. And lucky for us, he’s learning how to understand and respect her wishes as well!

    Ahhh this drama. Super lovely.
