If you look at it closely, JG was like fooling around after HSK announced as the winner then IU looked at him and he eventually returned her gaze and then goes the hug... It's very heart fluttering. so, I was browsing uri OTP's press photos during the red carpet, and I think there was another handholding attempt by JG that wasn't caught on video. Just like the other times, he first grabs her hand but then decides to offer his arm instead. I put the 3 photos showcasing this instance in a collage:

the 1st photo shows him holding her hand at the end of the red carpet, hence we didn't see this in vid.  (at first, I thought, maybe he's just assisting her since there may have been stairs, but then I saw the platform wasn't even high from the Allure IG vid) The 2 other photos show how he again, offered his arm to her instead after. I spotted this since when I was browsing the photos I noticed that JE was holding his other arm instead (I first saw the 3rd pic from the collage), noticing that she was holding onto JG's arm with the watch and JE being on the other side. So I was wondering, then saw the 2nd pic next and finally the 1st pic in the collage

I was able to confirm my suspicions and that these photos occurred in chronological order from Allure's vid IG update of uri OTP walking towards the elev perhaps? after walking the red carpet.

(LOL. me being depraved by our OTP has turned me into some kind of detective already .)

BOTTOMLINE: IT SEEMS JG'S REALLY USED TO HOLDING JE'S HAND, always realizing later he can offer his arm instead. (*smirks, Caught you!!)

@Erin45 chingu, thank you for your two cents. I agree wholeheartedly, especially on the '3rd party issue' and your ideas about what could actually bring our JoonU closer. I do think that they can really connect and empathize with each other better than anyone else because they've been through a lot of 'coincidentally' similar situations especially regarding their career and life struggles.

By the way, when I watch the SAF fancam again, it's before/ during Daesang winner speech, yes? it seems random that JG suddenly hugged JE. Yet, my guess is this:

JG was a nominee for Daesang and we all know how much he actually wanted to win a Daesang specifically from SBS because he didn't get it before for his high rating drama, Iljimae. Maybe JE knew about this as well when they talked to each other about wanting to win the awards before... and she was excited already and wanted him to win so much *please refer back to @Erin45 's idea about her adoring behaviour and reaction when JG won the other awards*... but then... it turned out that JG didn't win. I thought JG hugged her to 'ensure' her that he was OK with not winning the Daesang yet. His hug seemed to be like that to me rather than merely a random 'flirtatious' skinship. I don't know, I might see it wrongly, but if it's indeed that way, at this rate, nobody can doubt the closeness of their friendship/ relationship anymore. I think we're really sailing to the desirable direction... we might just need to believe that good things will eventually lead to a better thing for good people like them

LOL, even in reality PD-nim is still able to block our happiness xD. I can't!! And here I though it was only till the drama. Well at least he was there as mediator, with the recent rumors and all.

Also, I remember Hunter manager's comment in JE's insta about her 'eye contact' post. I also remember many fans speculating it could have been JE's manager who sat in between them, but in the end, he's actually far front. And the one who's KJ is PD-nim. if i'm not mistaken, I think it's him @0:51, the one using his phone??

And from this, I really have a feeling they really ate out after? (pertaining to Z.Hera's ig story post) since PD-Nim was there.

On a side note, I love the caption when it was panning on uri OTP, the caption only mentioned: Z.Hera x IU x Lee Joongi.  When clearly, Kim Gyu Tae PD-nim was there and I think, if I'm not mistaken, he's actually one of the known and respected PDs/ Director. I wonder why he was missed out in the caption

@marimari00, ur right! that's also one of the things i'm still wondering about. At the previous BTS clips u can see JE donning a different winter jacket but what she wore during her b-day was the JG CREW JACKET, and i love the fact how it's just draped on her shoulders (maybe someone put in on for her there?). Also, I believe Hunter manager will never forget something like that, you can even see JE's usual blanket draped on his shoulder at 1:04 of the vid when he was taking the cake from JE. But that jacket just remain on Hunter manager while JE was donning the JG CREW COAT <3.

Maybe it's one of JG's gifts to her?? Well, aside from the KISS xD

I know right!! wahahhaah . Since I was so depraved of uri OTP lately and was trying to rationalize if I was really just delulu or not being carried of the feels during the hype of the drama and all, it led me to rewatching their vids from presscon , BTS, SAF to Taiwan. And I'm glad I did so since I was able to watch these from a new perspective and led me to seeing things i previously haven't seen before, like the one I pointed out before, so I'm putting the rest of my post in spoiler since I think it's going to be quite long . Hope u guys take a look at it and I'd love to hear what u guys think . when I watched this part, I noticed that this question seemed out of how JG was letting the convo flow with JE's concert audience. I also observed how he turned serious during this time, contrasting to how he's demeanor was before asking the question. Also, his response of 'xie xie" (thank you) when the audience agreed caused the fans to laugh but he remained serious, (assured perhaps?). Anyways, nobody really knows what that question actually mean except for him (and maybe JE??)

does JG understand a little bit of Mandarin?? 'Cus I just noticed, his translator hasn't even translated when the MC said IU was in Taiwan for a concert, (well, maybe he had a clue when he heard IU?) but he already reacted, saying that's right. But the reason I'm asking if he really understands is because, the translator hasn't even said anything about him giving a support message when he started surveying the cameras and asking about them. He was already planning to, maybe?? He also seemed quite embarrassed at first (lauging emabarrassed first and after thinking, turned to the MC to ask for some Chinese praises)?? Also, what made me giddy was he initially addressed her as IU during the "I heard IU-sshi has a lot of fans.." when he was addressing the message to the media/audience but at the end of his message, when he was looking straight into the camera, addressing his message to her, he called her "Jieun-ah" saying he'll see her soon. And the rest is history when THAT fateful night came *sighs lovingly. :)))

 

Also, I can't find a YT vid, but during the best couple interview, when JG was asked why he drank so much, he instead answered with saying: "Haesoo/Jieun looks so beautiful, that he can't help talking to her a lot". He didn't actually answer why he drank a lot xD. He seemed to out himself instead. From his answer, we can deduce: HE TALKED TO HER A LOT BECAUSE SHE LOOKED BEAUTIFUL WHEN HE WAS DRINKING!!!. LOL , oppa, they were asking why you were DRINKING A LOT, not why you TALKED TO HER A LOT.  (at least, we now know uri OTP talks a lot during their meet-ups thanks to JG himself, we also know they never missed a gathering thanks to HJH, so we can say they must have spent a whole lot of talking, huh <3 ) 

 

Lastly, after rewatching all their vids. It's wonderful how you're actually able to get a glimpse of how their relationship and closeness evolved (though we still don't know how they got so close during the time when the drama was airing. since last ep gathering and SAF night was like JUST BAM!! WE'RE THIS CLOSE NOW!!) 

Looking at JG, yeah I now think there was that fondness already which developed when they were filming, and this you can clearly see in the BTS and presscon vids, but I think it was just that during that time?, he seemed to be his normal playful self But his demeanor during SAF and Taiwan concert/fanmeet? This, you can see it's different from just that fondness & playfulness before, it's more intense (can I say inlove?) I mean, the way he was acting, he seemed calm, at peace and every time he stares at JE you can see that tenderness, and the way his eyes seemed to be clinching more when he stared at her. Admiration, tenderness, you can clearly see it. It's also very notable how he seems to really like watching JE's reaction to what he says (this especially apparent in her Taiwan concert vids)

As for JE, just what I keep on saying, as a longtime Uaena I'm so happy seeing that smile on her face again. From the BTS & presscon vids, that's exactly where you can say "they're JUST close colleagues". You can see she was comfortable around him and laughed to his various antics but you can still see the barrier there. But then, last ep, SAF night and Taiwan concert/fanmeet? It's just BAM!, I tell you. You can really see the "FREEDOM" she meant when she was asked what she felt after cutting her hair. You can see her laughs unrestrained, her smile reaching her eyes and her just acting shy and giddy around JG.

the quote; "When a man is in love, you can see it in his eyes; while when a woman is in love, you can see it in her smile" truly fits them . And this is why, No matter what, I'm staying on this SHIP until whenever!!!

LOL, it's so funny how we all got worked up because of that pic  . It ended up with us seeing all sort of things from just his eye.  Anyways, since I've been so JE depraved lately, I decided to watch her interviews and look at what I found:

 

this interview was from when they just finished SHR filming. Uri team is really jjang~ She's so cute saying she misses the cast :))) This was my first time watching this interview of hers

Also, I decided to rewatch some random BTS that came to my YT recommended section:

 

OMG, I don't know why just noticed it now, but u could actually see JG holding back BH and HN from moving forward so JE ended up the only one coming forward. whahah It's also very noteworthy to say how JG basically moved away Haneul's hand from JE when she was returning back xD. You could actually see his hand shifting from Haneul's arm to his forearm to his hand and smoothly replacing instead Haneul's hand with his on JE's back xD. You can see these moments starting from 0:14

JG's really an excellent actor, he's still WangSo even if they're just doing a photoshoot (*note the sarcasm here)

on the side note, I also found it funny how 9th prince always kept his hand on chaeryung's , you can see it in in their group shot and in 0:29.

about Z.HERA'S IG story update, I think it's LJG who you can hear speaking in the beginning, another man's voice (maybe talking to IU?) and you can actually hear IU's voice talking for the rest of the vid.

(*EDIT: after plugging in my earphones, I'm not sure if it's LJG I hear in the beginning but I can definitely say it's IU you can hear speaking beginning at 0:05 sec of the vid, I can't understand Korean but I'm certain I heard her saying "Oppa," then followed by words I don't understand. I hope someone can translate what she was actually saying, it may be crumbs  (We all know who she calls Oppa, right?? )

They sat quietly; she didn’t really expect Ki Ha oppa would show up again after their last goodbye. Inna unnie decided to leave them alone after giving him a fierce stare. She even told Ji Eun to call her if he tried anything bad. Sitting together in the same room made the air feel so heavy. Ji Eun waited restlessly, so many questions were running through her head, but nothing was said. Ki Ha oppa looked as restless and nervous as she was, both of them felt uncomfortable.

 “So... how have you been?” he said, breaking the silence. 

“Are you here just to ask how I am doing?” she said harshly, “there is an app called messenger on your phone that you can use, unless you have deleted my number.” 

She could see the look of disbelieve and hurt plastered on his face. She knew why that look would be on his face, because she had never done that before. She would put his feeling over hers first, even when they fought before. She would always be the one that kept everything in and forgave him without hearing him say sorry first. She would be the one who ran to him, asking forgiveness most of the time; trying to reconcile as quickly as possible. She had lost count on how many times they went through breakups and makeup sessions in their almost 3 year relationship.

 “No… I have not deleted your number, Eun ah.”  He rubbed his neck uncomfortably.

 She couldn’t help to see how he looked rougher than the usual, he didn’t shave and there was lack of sleep in his eyes. Her heart went for him and she had to admit, she didn’t hate him, she would never hate this guy, even if she wanted to.

  “What do you want, oppa?”

   “I … miss you, have you not missed me these past months?” There was longing and desperation in his eyes, but Ji Eun flinched when she heard those words - as if he had stabbed her with a hot iron knife.

 ‘He misses me... after all these months; he comes to say that he misses me. What does he expect me to do? Jump and kiss him happily?

 

 She was speechless at first. The thought that if these words had been said in the first month after their break up they would have had a different effect, a different result made her upset.

 ‘Why didn’t he come sooner? Why didn’t he try harder to keep our relationship before? Why after he had said that he couldn’t and didn’t want to fight for our love, he comes and says that he misses me?’ 

 “What are you trying to say, oppa?” She gritted her teeth, “aren’t you the one who asked for the breakup? You are the one who said that you can’t do it anymore.”

 “Yes… I did that, I was so sure at that time, but… I miss you so much. I worry about you a lot; I … want us to try again for one last time. “

   ‘Try again? How should I understand these words? How many times have we been through this same episode?’

  Every word he said didn’t make her feel any better.  Her heart ached so much, to the point she felt sick. She closed her eyes, trying to calm herself. There was so much emotion building up in her.

 ‘Why... when I thought I am ready to let him go, ready to acknowledge my feeling for Joon Gi oppa, he must show up? What am I supposed to do now? Should I tell him to just move on, because I think... that I have moved on? Haven’t I? 

 “Eun ah...” he came closer and sat next to her. Ki Ha oppa carefully put his hand over hers. Ji Eun snapped her eyes open when she realized how close he was. She quickly stood up and moved away.

  “ I... I don’t know if I want to try again. After all those heartbreaks and makeups we have been through...”

 “Give me another chance?”

She looked into his hopeful eyes. It would be a lie if she said she had never missed him, especially that first months of their last break up. But at the same time she knew he hadn’t been on her mind much lately, someone else has occupied it.

 I... I need time,” she said finally, “give me time to consider it.”

 “Eun Ah...” he pleaded. The way he looked at her made her feel so awry and lost.

 “Could you just leave me for now, oppa? I don’t feel well”

 She walked to the door and opened it without saying anything. Ki Ha oppa looked crushed but he stood up and walked over, he gave her a final agonized look before he left.

 ---

 A week has passed, during those days not even a day passed without Ki Ha oppa trying to shower her with his attention and care to her. He sent flowers and many other things, he messaged her a lot, he also send her some of the songs that he had made just for her. He was doing all the sweet things that he used to do in their early years. He would even take her out on some dates if she allowed him to, but she didn’t.

 To say Ji Eun didn’t waver would be a lie. She got swayed, she was flattered, and her history with him brought her to the point that she was really thinking about giving him another chance.

 ---

 Inna unnie had that disapproving look on her face when Ji Eun told her that she was considering to get back with him.

 “Are you sure? Is that your final decision?”

 Ji Eun was quiet.  She didn’t know how to answer her question. She wasn’t sure; she hadn’t been able to assure herself with the answer to that decision.

 “Don’t, if you are not sure,” Inna unnie squeezed her hand trying to give her strength. “How about Lee Joon Gi sunbaenim? I thought you are happier with him, you look happier Euni...”

 Joon Gi oppa .... He hadn’t contacted her since that day when she got drunk. He wasn’t even talking in the group chat much. She tried to message him, he replied but he was somehow distanced, not like the way he used to be.

 ‘My last tantrum might have been the cause. ’ she thought, to be honest that made her think of him more than Ki Ha oppa.

 “I am not sure... I don’t know unnieee... I really don’t know,” she felt so conflicted.

 Han Na unnie was also with them. It was a rare chance to have them together. Ji Eun had introduced Inna to Han Na some time ago, even though the three of them never really gathered together. But today they both came to comfort her.

 “Ji Eunni... who makes you happier? That’s what matters, right? Who gives you the widest smile, that butterfly feeling?”, said Han Na unnie, “Who do you think about the most these days?”

 Han Na unnie sat next to her and touched her forehead with her index finger.

 “The guy who makes you frown more, than smile when you think about him, is never a good choice”

 Her words were like an epiphany to Ji Eun. They struck her right in her core and for the first time she felt that she finally knew who to choose, which love should she fight for. She hugged both of her unnie, feeling grateful for them.

 ---

 She smiled, satisfied when she uploaded that picture on her instagram. She wrote ‘Soo smiled when So smiled’ as its caption. Tonight was the episode when So and Soo were finally together, she’s always loved that Pegasus scene. Ji Eun then went on to message Ki Ha oppa asking him to come tomorrow. She needed to tell him her decision, and he deserved one.

 ‘Ding’ she heard her Instagram alert tone. She went to check it and smiled, Joon Gi oppa commented on the picture she put up. Ji Eun felt warm reading his comment.

 ---

 “So... this is final? Nothing I could say or do will change your mind?” Ki Ha oppa looked heartbroken.

 “No... That is my final answer. Thank you for everything oppa, it is I think what is best for me, for us. I loved you before and I’ve never regretted it. But it is over for me. Let’s just be hobae and sunbae.”

 He went quiet  and clenched his jaw, he knew nothing he said would change her mind, so he stood up from his seat and walked to the door. Ji Eun followed and opened it for him, when he suddenly stopped.

 “You have changed Eun ah... did he change you?” Ki-Ha said without facing her.

  “What do you mean?” She jolted at his tone of question.

  “Lee Joon Gi shi..., I should have seen that before, I don’t want to believe it, but looks like it is true,” he continued. His sweet voice had changed to ice. Ki Ha oppa turned and looked at her coldly, “you have been cheating on me with him. That’s why when I asked for the breakup you agreed on it and never tried to go back like you used to do.”

 Ji Eun’s eyes went wide. She was lost for words. She never expected to see him acting that cold and never expected that he could accuse her of cheating. Ji Eun finally saw the other side of Jang Ki Ha.

 “I am not blind...” , He glared at her with hostile eyes.

 ‘Is this the same man I had loved for almost 3 years? He judged so easily, blamed everything on me, always acted like he was the victim on every situation that was a disadvantage for him. How could I be so blind all these years.’  She finally understood.

 “Good night Ki Ha shi.” She closed the door without answering, because that was the right thing to do.

 Jang Ki Ha watched the door close. His eyes and face were unreadable.

 ---

 Ji Eun was fixing her make up in the mirror, she smiled at her new look. She felt lighter and happier. Tonight was the final episode of Moon Lovers, the crew and cast had already planned a gathering to watch it together. She couldn’t wait to see everyone, especially him. He said he will be late since he had a gathering with his fans to watch the final episode together.

 The final ending was a surprise for Ji Eun and was kind of disappointing. But she knew that the director had decided and no one could really protest about it. Even though the drama did not receive good ratings nationally, it was accepted well internationally. She was happy when Joon Gi got his second wave of popularity and gained more fans. It had been a long time since she last saw him; she was excited to see him again. Her smile was so bright when she finally saw him enter the room. Her eyes quietly followed him around. He greeted all of the crew and cast like he always did.

 “Ji Eun ah... you cut your hair?” That was the first thing he said when he saw her. She nodded and smiled while she unconsciously touched her short bob hair. Ji Eun felt butterflies dancing in her stomach when he looked at her intently. She couldn’t hold her gaze on him and felt shy and giddy.

 “Why?” he asked, “It’s not like it looks bad on you. You are always beautiful, with long or short hair”, he added quickly.

 This was the question she had been waiting for. This was the moment she needed to tell him about the main reason she cut her hair. 

“Group pictures!!!” Hong Jong Hyun shi called out, breaking their intense atmosphere. Hera shi showed up next to her and practically shoved her and Joon Gi shi to the seat. She took the chance to sit closer to him, slowly leaning her back into him. She could feel his body tensed at the touch.

 “Freedom,” she whispered into his ear and smiled meaningfully at him. She saw how realization dawned slowly in his face, his body relaxed and he smiled like the sun.

To my friends who have enjoyed reading this humble fanfic, to be honest I was struggling with this chapter, I really worried that this chapter is not as good as the previous, but I did my best still. I also thought i was going to end it to this chapter where the story will have an open ending. But atm I am not so sure anymore... so what do you think? should I end it here? or not?

I've seen comments that they're both just good at acting - but that was such a spontaneous reaction to a comment they couldn't have known the interviewer would make. I still don't quite understand it, lol. 

I also can't get over IU being the one to initiate the hug at her Taiwan concert. I haven't been a fan of hers for very long, but my impression from longtime Uaenas is that was a surprising move on her part (and very unlike her). Plus she was so smiley and enthusiastic about him being there, and her laugh when the crowd reacted to them holding hands for all of a second, lol. I also don't understand LJG posting a vid of him taking IU's hand and purposefully making that a slo-mo moment? Why take the time to do that??? Is he just the ultimate SoSoo shipper? haha

I don't want to assume they're in a relationship, but at the same time, I really don't think it's unreasonable for some of us to think there's ~something~ there. What that something is, is up to interpretation. At the very least, they're obviously really good friends and imo, not just mere colleagues as some have suggested.

 

 

 

ohmygosh, this is so on point. And I exactly have the same thoughts!!! Really, these days, I've been trying to rationalize and like really re-assess if I'm just being too delulu; but these instances that you have mentioned above, are what convince me that I'm not just being a major delulu.

I may not know that much about LJK but I can proudly say that I have been a fan of IU since 2010 and have been following her ever since then. And as a long time of hers, really, how she acted when LJG came to her Taiwan concert really shocked me. Especially her initiating that hug and being all that smiley and giggly around him. It's really the first time I was able to witness her like that with a "colleague/ close friend". In the past, I always get surprised hearing about how IU is actually close friends with for example, Yonghwa, SHINee's Jonghyun and Kim Soo Hyun. I only learned they were close when YH and JH guested on her concert, JH giving a song to JE, JE making a commentary on CNBLUE's comeback song and KSH attending her concert 1st and going straight to the airport to catch a flight. Really, you'd be unconvinced their good friends if you don't know these events. She's also close with Lee Hyun Woo, but u can clearly see that it's only platonic.

But even after knowing about their close friendship and watching how they interact, JE really is different with LJK (that level of comfort is really something). I was able to witness Jieun who laughed easily and looked carefree in his presence. Because, as  I followed JE, she really became someone who had her impenetrable walls up after all that she has gone through (Even Jang Geunsuk said this about uri JE). As a Uaena, I was very happy to see her have that smile which reached her eyes during the last ep's gathering in October (as we all have seen from the ig photos) and that genuine look of happiness during SAF Awards night and the Taiwan concert.

I could go on and on contrasting JE with LJK compared when she's with her other close friends, but the main point is, I've never seen her act the same way to her other close friends with how she acted with LJK

Whether if they really are an item or not. I'm just so happy that they met and were able to cause these wonderful effects on each other. Them, together really had an effect of synergy. I will continue to support them and wish for their success and happiness (whether individually or together).

Anyways, sorry for the long post, just wanted to expressed my take on this

long time no post, just been lurking here, but I can't help commenting after seeing the whole trans of uri OTPs talks during their appearances at each other's events, so here it goes:

OHMYGOSH!!!, why is no one taking notice of what IU said after LJK appearance in her concert??? xD She noted that the screams seemed to be louder and understood it be cause LJK "oppa" was SO COOL AND SWEATING!!! ohmygosh, Jieun totally understands us!!!

also, the recent released trans was more detailed, it even included the portion we were wondering about when LJK asked about how JE finds him. LOL she's so cute! she first avoided the topic and then said: "but you're here" when LJK went back to the actual topic. and his reply: "should i leave the stage now?" and her reply of "Nono!!!" is so adorbs. Uri is OTP is really something, they're so cute!!! 

I'm really hoping for NAMOO ACTORS to release like a BTS vid of Taipei Fanmeeting and an IUTV for Taipei concert too, since it was the final leg of her tour and hopefully, we can have cakes from those BTS vids!!!

now, that u took notice of this, i just want to ask something, is Jieun Christian?? because, although I've been quite a long time fan of IU, I'm not really sure what's her religion; as for Joongi, I heard his Christian, and it's very apparent in the BTS where he was making mistakes and then saying "amen".
