Kwon Sang Woo and Song Seung Heon are friends in the film Destiny but are they destined to be friends in real life? Maybe not.

The two heartthrobs are expected to fight in a drama battle since Kwon Sang Woo's Dae Mool and Son Seung Heon's East of Eden will air around the same time in May, fighting for the same viewers.

I expect a lot of ab flashing to grab the viewers attention during the premiere, but do you think these two will remain friends or become foes?

최근 유인촌 문화부장관 후보자의 재산이 140억원을 육박해 전체 장관 후보자중 톱으로 알려져 화제를 모았다.

그는 재산이 너무 많다는 지적에 대해 "30년 주연급 연기자로 생활하면서 번 돈"이라며 "내 재산이 많다고 하는데, 배용준을 보라"고 당당히 밝혔다.

과연 스타들은 얼마나 많은 돈을 받으며 일을 할까? 최근 한류 스타들의 국내 드라마 출연료가 회당 5000만원선을 기준으로 이동하고 있는 가운데, 일단 별들의 자존심이라고 할 수 있는 영화와 드라마 출연료를 통해 천정부지로 치솟고 있는 스타들의 몸값을 파헤쳐봤다.

특급 스타의 드라마 출연료 상승 행진이 도무지 끝이 보이지 않는다.

2000년대 초반 톱스타의 드라마 회당 출연료는 500만원 안팎에 불과했지만 올 들어 회당 5000만원을 거뜬히 넘기고 있다. 불과 5~6년 만에 무려 10배에 가까운 가파른 몸값 상승이 이뤄진 것이다.

게다가 지난해 3000만원~4000만원에서 형성돼 있던 톱스타의 회당 드라마 출연료는 올해 들어 급격하게 5000만원을 넘어섰다. 올해 안에 1억원에 이를 것이라는 전망도 결코 허황되지 않은 상황이다.

일반적으로 방송사에서 책정한 미니시리즈 제작비는 회당 1억원~1억2000만원 수준. 주연 배우 출연료 만으로 회당 제작비를 거뜬히 넘기는 상황이 목전에 다가온 셈이다.

이처럼 엄청난 톱스타의 드라마 출연료는 한류 스타들에게서 비롯되고 있다. 해외 판권 수출이 드라마 수익 구조의 핵심 요소로 자리 잡으면서 수출을 선도하는 한류 스타의 몸값이 천정부지로 치솟은 것이다.

지난해 MBC TV '태왕사신기'의 배용준의 출연료가 회당 2억원 수준(해외 판권 수익 포함)인 것으로 전해져 화제가 된 데 이어, MBC TV '에어시티'의 최지우, KBS 2TV '못된 사랑'의 권상우 등 대표적인 한류 스타들이 엄청난 몸값을 기록했다.

장동건·비·이영애 등은 고액 개런티 출연작이 없어 구체적인 몸값을 논하긴 어렵지만, 드라마에 출연한다면 최고 출연료를 놓고 경쟁을 벌일 것으로 여겨지고 있다.

최지우의 경우 회당 4000만원대의 출연료를 기록하며 여자 스타 중 단연 톱을 차지했고, 권상우는 회당 1억원(일정 부분 투자 지분으로 참여)의 출연료로 배용준의 뒤를 이었다.

최근 MBC TV '에덴의 동쪽'의 출연을 결정하며 5년 만에 안방극장 복귀를 선언한 송승헌은 회당 7000만원 수준에서 출연료 협상이 마무리 단계다.

한류 스타들에 의해 촉발된 출연료 상승은 동급 국내파 스타들의 출연료를 역시 끌어 올리며 톱스타들의 전반적인 출연료를 상승시켰다.

이 과정에서 SBS TV '쩐의 전쟁'의 박신양은 회당 5000만원을 넘겼고, '에어시티'의 이정재는 회당 4000만원을 거뜬히 돌파했다. 어지간한 스타급 연기자의 회당 출연료가 3000만원 수준에서 형성되고 있는 실정이다.

톱스타의 출연료가 전체 제작비의 대부분을 차지하는 상황은 당연히 제작 환경 악화로 이어지고 있다. 주연급 연기자의 출연료와 작가의 원고료만으로 방송사에서 책정한 제작비를 훌쩍 넘어서기에, 이를 메우기 위해 제작 협찬 및 PPL(간접 광고) 의존도가 높아질 수밖에 없고, 조연급 연기자 및 촬영 스태프 축소가 불가피해지고 있다.

드라마에서 감초 역할을 하던 연기자가 사라지고, 형제·자매·삼촌 등이 사라지면서 가족의 파괴 현상으로까지 이어지고 있다.

문제는 드라마의 주연 배우 톱스타 의존도가 갈수록 높아지고 있는 현상이다. 한정된 제작비에서 주연 배우의 의존도가 높아지는 현실은 제작 여건을 더욱 악화시킬 수밖에 없다. 출연료의 상승 속도가 더욱 빨라지면서 이에 대한 해결 또한 요원해지는 건 더욱 큰 문제가 아닐 수 없다.

I think the article also says that BYJ's 200 million won per episode fee for MBC TV drama 'Legend' INCLUDES 'overseas earnings rights'.
