Guest Bitterbaby~
Ehhh just a question here about Sweet Impact's sales. Kinki Kids and Orange range singles along with Sweet Impact were all released today, right? The chart has displayed the sales amount of Kinki Kids and Orange range, and Orange range is @ no.3 with 6K >;O... Means Sweet Impact sold less than 6k? Not even 6K? Guest KhmerGuy231
I loved Do the Motion too. One of my favorite songs of all time. Sweet Impact however does not appeal to me. Bad Drive had an appeal... until I listened to the whole song. This single isn't doing anything for me, but I'm glad everyone else likes the single. jack jack attack
Lol .. I think I'm the only one in here who doesn't like Do the Motion. Hm .. she debuted at #5? At least she got to the top five! Hope it goes up soon!!
Guest heygingersnap
^ LOL, don't worry. i didn't like DTM that much either. SWEET IMPACT made it in the top 5, though! i'm really glad, but hopefully it goes up~~ she has tough competition with the other artists. O_O (ROFL, since soompi resized the picture it looks like DoA XD) hihi to the new people of the thread and the lurkers!~

Where did you get that number from? Oricon only count weekly sales I believe, and it's not gonna be released til next week, I'm hoping BoA could get at least 35k for this week. Guest jessiep
Well, it's not bad that SI debuted at #5 (with all those competitions). Hopefully, it'll move up couple spots and move into top 3 soon. It's no surprise that Kinki Kids is at #1. Do The Motion is a very good single, which presented a matured BoA with a more jazzy song (a lot less pop compared to many of her other songs). Actually, SI sounds very popish when compared to DTM. I'm wondering when the next single of BoA will top #1 again
Guest xyunaxfantasiesx
LOL u reminded me "Do the motion" i think it's a gud song but not tat "perfect", but Japanese luv that song so much & DTM helped BoA to break record of Oricon Chart ^ ppl talk 'bout DTM as a "miracle" (KBS News said so) any1 here think DTM is the best song ever????? i personally luv it but my friends think it's mediocre Japanese sumtime hav "strange" taste of music LOL I love Do The Motion but I don't see how it could mean/doesn't mean that Japanese people have weird taste. People have different taste and it's all just preferences. I just think the reason DTM was so successful is because it didn't have much competition during it's week of debut leading it to the No.1 spot and it represented a more mature and different BoA causing some to like or dislike it. I find that every time BoA release something different, some people either love or hate it. It's usually the people who wants her to stay with the cute/pop image that can't accept her new style and when she does release a pop song like Sweet Impact they complain that her style is getting old, make up your mind. But since I'm partly Japanese, living in Japan. I think that no, we don't have strange taste in music sometimes, or at all...and I take it to a somewhat insult, in some way. ^-^;; Our taste in music is basically the same as in America, with our own 'remixes'. You can really tell that most of the music is American inspired ^-^;; I guess DTM did really well since it was right after her best album and tour...I still really like the song though, the beat was catchy <33 xyunaxfantasiesx I REALLY agree with you =]

Having conquered both the K-Pop and J-Pop market, BoA is obviously an object of admiration for those who aspire to become singers. It is also already well known that BoA is a good friend of artists such as Matsuura Aya and Lee Hyori, who last week revealed her attempt at hooking BoA up with Lee Junki, a Korean actor. But what do other artists who are not particularly close to BoA think of her? Japanese boyband w-inds, for one, seems to think very highly of BoA. In a recent interview with Yonhap News, w-inds said that BoA's ability to sing and dance at the same time serves as a "motivator" for them, so they always monitor BoA's concert DVDs and promotional videos. Younha, a Korean songbird who has had moderate success in both Korea and Japan, also praised BoA, confessing that she was a huge fan of BoA even when she was in elementary school. "Had BoA not cleared the way for fellow Korean artists to break into the Japanese market, then I wouldn't have had the same level of success that I achieved in Japan last year," said Younha in an interview with JoongAng Ilbo. But she admits that being dubbed "the second BoA" by the media, presumably due to her early debut age, has not exactly been a blessing. "BoA and I have different styles of music. It is unfortunate that some people just dismiss my music because of that prejudice." She said that while she was grateful to be compared with a super star, she would like to be judged by her music itself, not by how much her music resembles that of BoA.
