Guest Leopoldine
Bonne question...'Viva' se dit bien en anglais.. hmm peut-être cheers? Je pense pas qu'il y ait une traduction littérale. Oh la chance! Tu y vis depuis longtemps, pour tes études?? J'aimerai beaucoup visiter les States. Un jour, un jour. ^^ MDR (bah oui c'est un French thread, autant utiliser les abréviations françaises ), désolée, je suis probablement très indiscrète PS: La flemme de traduire tout ça en anglais. Guest ChaiReex33
If anyone could please help me translate this. What's the French translation for this, "Flaw in Time" or "Flaw in the circle of time" and "Golden string" Thank you! )
lilyphenix
@zantac_2: wow! merci pour la traduction! Tres impressionnant. @pasteque<3: je vis ici depuis 6 ans; oui, pour les études. Mais la France me manque souvent, surtout la bonne "bouffe"! lol! @ChaiReex33: "Flaw in time" literally => "faille or défaut dans le temps" "flaw in the circle of time" possibly => "une brèche dans le cercle du temps." "golden string" => "une corde d'or"
Guest Leopoldine
@Zantac_2: Thanks for doing my work Should I make you the official translator of my posts? Kidding, anyway it clearly shows that you have a very good comprehension ^^ Great job! @Lilyphenix: Ah oui, ça fait vraiment pas mal de temps. 6 ans pour les études, tu dois faire un sacré long cursus. I'm not lazy today: "Ah yes, it's been quite some time. 6 years for your studies, you must have taken a very long course."
zantac_2
keep writing them without translations and ill keep translating them . i like the practice. too bad if you say that out aloud in front of me id have no clue in what youre trying to say. ill probably pick out the verb, but the rest ill think for a long time and just guess it out. this is partly why i like old french films, they speak alot slower and break up sentences in defined syllables. modern french is way too quick and fluid for me to catch on at this time. Guest Leopoldine
Don't worry, although my writing English is quite okay, I know I'd probably end up unable to understand you if you talk to me ^^' I believe to really orally understand a language very well, you need to live for a while in a country. Well, that's the best way I think. Okay, I officially name you as my personnal translator. Too bad this thread is dying...
zantac_2
i agree. too bad i dont have the resources or freedom to do that right now. i do the next best thing by trying to find as many french people to talk with and watch more french cinema. ils sont beaucoup des gens de francais a sydney. est-ce que tu habites en france? all the french people ive met have had excellent english. they could understand and keep up with whatever i threw at them. NPB-XK
hi guys, i need your help! pls help me translate this "Je suis parti de rien pour arriver nulle part." thanks in advance Translated word by word would be: "I'm gone from nothing to arrive nowhere." But in my own words, I'd translate it as: "I've started from nothing just to get nowhere."
