In Korea, if a girl is pretty and looks older than her age, she will most likely get in. The age restrictions on clubs in Korea are far less strict than they are here in the states. High school students always sneak into clubs and drink. It isn't anything new.

but what does il-jeen mean?

Basically, its a person who fights the best at a school, or a group of students that are considered the best fighters at a school. To sum it up, they're students who drink, smoke, have no priorities, dont study, and live off of fighting. It's either a combination of all of those, or just being the best fighter at school.. aka schools gangsters. Another interpretation is someone who is 잘나간다.. It's kind of hard to explain in english, because there really isn't a direct translation of it.. but in simple terms its someone who is the most popular at school (with guys and such).

This is kind of random, but my friends went to Jung Ilwoo and Kim Hyesung's highschools in Korea, and I heard their character roles in Highkick were kind of switched hahaha. In highschool Jung Ilwoo was just a regular student or something (찌질해 is what my friend said, but again, hard to translate) and Kim Hyesung was an iljeen because he's SO good at fighting LOOOL I'm not sure if he did the whole smoking and drinking deal to an extreme, but I heard he was amazing at fighting (flies around, etc). Random I know ;
