Lee Ye Na (Kim Min Ju) is the only daughter of the chairman of Byeongmun High School and the student council president. Undercover High School (working title) is a comedy K-drama. Bad Prosecutor’s writer, Young Bin, is penning the series. The drama’s storyline follows a man who is an agent at the National Intelligence Service (NIS) but goes undercover as a high school student. While in the school, he learns about what happens there and sympathizes with the students.

The upcoming K-drama will be Jin Ki Joo's return to MBC after two years. Her last appearance on the network was in the 2022 K-drama From Now On, Showtime!

With the confirmation of her casting for Undercover High School, many are already anticipating her return to comedy as well as her chemistry with actor Seo Kang Joon.

 

 

Undercover High School is an action comedy K-drama that will showcase the life of Jung Hae Sung who hid his identity as a National Intelligence Service agent and goes undercover as a high school student.

Seo Kang Joon will portray the role of Jung Hae Sung, the NIS agent turned high school student. On the other hand, Jin Ki Joo will portray the role of Oh Soo Ah. She will be the homeroom teacher of Jung Hae Sung who will go undercover as a high school student. She is a Korean history teacher at the prestigious school. She has a strong personality with great love and concern for her students. 

Director Choi Jung In (Knight Flower and On the Verge of Insanity) and writer Im Young Bin (Bad Prosecutor and Sketch) will helm the upcoming series. 

Undercover High School will air in the first half of 2025 and it will be part of MBC's Friday and Saturday K-drama timeslot.

Kim Shin Rok is set to star alongside Seo Kang Joon and Jin Ki Joo in an upcoming action comedy drama!

On July 1, MBC confirmed that Kim Shin Rok will be part of the cast for its new Friday-Saturday drama “Undercover High School” (working title). Seo Kang Joon and Jin Ki Joo were previously confirmed for the drama.

“Undercover High School” follows Jung Hae Sung (Seo Kang Joon), an undercover National Intelligence Service (NIS) agent posing as a high school student. As he balances school life, he builds solidarity and bonds with his classmates and becomes entangled with Oh Soo Ah (Jin Ki Joo), a substitute Korean history teacher and his homeroom teacher. The drama is written by Im Young Bin, known for “Bad Prosecutor.”

Kim Shin Rok will star as Seo Myung Joo, the head of Byung Moon Foundation and the elite private Byung Moon High School. Seo Myung Joo is a meticulous and strategic character, driven by an obsession with being the best.

Kim Shin Rok will also star as the archnemesis of National Intelligence Service agent Jung Hae Sung. Her rivalry with Seo Kang Joon’s character is set to add excitement and create strong on-screen chemistry, making their interactions highly anticipated.

The executive producer expressed excitement about Kim Shin Rok playing Seo Myung Joo, saying, “We are thrilled to have Kim Shin Rok as the foundation’s chairwoman. Her upcoming work is expected to surpass her past performances. Her character’s rivalry with Hae Sung and Soo Ah is sure to boost the drama’s appeal.”

Production for “Undercover High School” is in full swing, and the drama is set to premiere as an MBC Friday-Saturday drama in early 2025.

Kim Shin Rok confirmed her first K-drama project for 2025.

On July 1, it was officially confirmed that Kim Shin Rok is joining the cast of the upcoming MBC action comedy K-drama Undercover High School.

Kim Shin Rok will join the confirmed cast Seo Kang Joon, Jin Ki Joo, and Kim Min Ju. 

This will be the first K-drama of Kim Shin Rok for next year. In 2024, the actress appeared in the hit tvN series Queen of Tears to support Reborn Rich co-star Kim Do Hyun. 

She is expected to star in the upcoming Netflix original K-drama Hellbound Season 2. She will work alongside Kim Hyun Joo, Kim Sung Cheol, Hong Eui Joon, Yang Ik Jun, and Lee Re. 

Aside from K-dramas, Kim Shin Rok is also joining the upcoming movie Uprising with Park Jeong Min, Kang Dong Won, Cha Seung Won, Jin Seon Kyu, and Jung Sung Il. 

Kim Shin Rok is known for being part of the K-dramas Sweet Home Season 2, The Kidnapping Day, Moving, Shadow Detective Season 2, Reborn Rich, One Ordinary Day, Hellbound, Beyond Evil, and more. 

 

Undercover High School will revolve around the life of Jung Hae Sung who hid his identity as a National Intelligence Service agent and goes undercover as a high school student.

Kim Shin Rok will portray the role of Seo Myeong Joo. She is the chairman of the board of directors of the Byeongmun Foundation and the prestigious Byeongmun High School. She will be the worst enemy of Seo Kang Joon's character Jung Hae Sung who is disguised as a high school student. 

Undercover High School will premiere in the first half of 2025 and it will be part of MBC's Friday and Saturday K-drama timeslot.
