A deadly game begins in Night Has Come

by solstices

Night Has Come — LG’s next original drama on their new streaming platform U+ MobileTV — has released its first teaser, delivering thrills and chills alongside a blood-soaked mafia game. With no way out other than to vote off the mafia suspects, the terrified students do exactly that — but as it turns out, even gamified choices have real-life consequences.

As the school bell rings, morning dawns on Yooil High’s school retreat. It’s all fun and laughter until night falls and a mysterious message pops up on their phones. (The Killing Vote, is that you?) The perplexed students are instructed to vote for one schoolmate to eliminate, and they do just that, thinking it to be another harmless game — after all, who would want to believe that a mere tap of a phone screen could send someone to their demise?

Unfortunately, that’s exactly what happens. A series of suspicious deaths fly by — some seemingly an accident, others clearly homicide. The students recoil in shock and terror upon discovering a dead friend in the gym, as an eerily chipper voice announces over the PA system: “Now, the mafia game begins.” The grim reality of the situation starts to sink in, and the students go from shell-shocked horror to desperate survival mode. They have to vote, or else death awaits — in other words, it’s kill or be killed.

Nowhere is this more apparent than the drama’s pre-release clip, which sends us right into the midst of the mystery. Their teacher isn’t answering their calls, and their phones keeps losing connection. The anxious students look to class president Kim Joon-hee — played by Kim Woo-seok (Finland Papa) — for guidance, and he defuses the tension by suggesting they get some rest since it’s late. He’ll go outside to scout for help in the morning, and vice president Jung So-mi — played by Jung Sori (Move to Heaven) — backs him up.

As the students disperse, Oh Jung-won — played by Choi Ye-bin (It’s Beautiful Now) — mutters that So-mi is a two-faced hypocrite. The genteel Lee Yoon-seo — played by Lee Jae-in (Racket Boys) — tries to mollify Jung-won, but they’re interrupted by their phones. Sixty seconds left till the voting phase ends, and by the end of it, class clown Heo Yul has the majority vote.

Interestingly, the voters’ rationale is that Yul created the mafia game — a claim which Yul staunchly refutes. Alas, Yul’s fate has been sealed. A sudden bout of tinnitus hits, his eyes turn completely white, and then he begins to smash his head onto the floor as if possessed. Terrified by the gruesomely bloody scene unfolding before their eyes, the students can barely stop Yul when he careens right out the window and onto the ground several storeys below.

“Heo Yul was a citizen,” the mysterious voice announces. Then the school bell rings, signalling nightfall — and as the moon rises on their phone screens, the students collapse to the floor in unison, fast asleep for the night. Creepy. It appears that there’s a supernatural force behind this lethal game, but surely nothing is truly as it seems.

Rounding out the main cast, we also have the number one bully Kyung Joon, played by Cha Woo-min (Weak Hero Class 1), and the resentful outcast Jin Da-beom, played by Ahn Ji-ho (All of Us Are Dead). We don’t get to see them beyond a brief glimpse in the teaser, but I’m anticipating their hierarchy turning on its head once the game is set in motion.

Helmed by PD Im Dae-woong (Search), with scripts penned by Kang Min-ji, Night Has Come premieres on December 4.

New K-drama "The Heavenly Idol" Unveils Captivating Cast and Production Team

Alongside Lee, the drama will feature a dynamic supporting cast, including Go Bo-gyeol, who will portray Kim Da-in, the manager of Woo Yeon-woo's idol group, and Lee Soo-hyuk, who will play Cha Hyun, a fellow idol with a mysterious past. Rounding out the ensemble are veteran actors Lee Jung-jae and Kim Min-ha, who will add their seasoned expertise to the series. I like this series due to my love for mafia game. Also, of course I am a talented player of games of chance because I consider myself enough lucky and able to use many lifehacks to earn money easy just by playing. One of the source that helps me discover the best tips and bonuses is https://casinosanalyzer.com/bonuses-by-countries/italy-ita that leads me to the trustworthy analyst of various gambling sites. For instance, I have recently checked it for reviews about the best Italian bonuses and free spins and the luck has smiled to me as I've followed the tips and could access indeed nice gambling websites. So games, not mattering whether for mafia or sports or other types, can bring no only joy, but money too.

20231125232725_Night-Has-Come-2.jpg?s=90Watch: High School Classmates Turn On Each Other To Survive In Trailer For New Drama “Night Has Come”

Nov 26, 2023
by E. Cha

Upcoming drama “Night Has Come” has released its main trailer!

“Night Has Come” is a teen mystery thriller about a group of high school students who are forced to play a deadly real-life version of the mafia game during a class retreat. Starring Lee Jae In, Kim Woo Seok, Choi Ye Bin, Cha Woo Min, Ahn Ji Ho, Jeong So Ri, and more, the drama will depict the intense psychological warfare between the students as they attempt to identify the mystery killer—while also trying to avoid dying a gruesome death.

The trailer begins with the classmates excitedly playing an innocent game of mafia on the bus while traveling to their retreat. Once they get there, they receive mysterious text messages announcing, “The mafia game begins now. Please check your assigned profession.” They are then asked to vote for someone, and the students tap on the name of one of their classmates without giving it much thought.

However, things take a shockingly dark turn when the vote ends. A mysterious voice announces that Heo Yool (Park Yoon Ho) has been selected to be executed, after which Heo Yool seems to develop a splitting headache. Initially, his friends ask him, “Are you acting again?” But when his eyes turn white, it becomes clear that there is something sinister taking place.

After Heo Yool’s death, his classmate panic, wondering aloud, “What should we do now? What if we stay here and wind up dying too?” However, a lack of cell phone reception makes it impossible for them to leave.

Next, class president Joon Hee (Kim Woo Seok) suggests that everybody hand in their phones and not vote for anyone, saying, “If no one votes, then we can all live.” But his theory is soon proven wrong when a blaring siren goes off and the gymnasium is bathed in ominous red light, with the students desperately scrambling for their phones while screaming, “If we don’t vote, we die!”

As the students search for a way to escape, Yoon Seo (Lee Jae In) says, “First, we need to figure out who started this game and why.” Later, the classmates begins to turn on one another, with one student telling her friends, “After all, it’s okay as long as it’s not us,” while another shouts at someone accusingly, “They died because of you!”

With the game’s life-or-death stakes leading to more and more betrayal, the caption chillingly declares, “If you want to live, kill your friend!” One student yells, “I’m asking if you’re going to kill me!” as another says, “Let’s survive and get out of here, no matter what.”

“Night Has Come” premieres on December 4 and will be available with subtitles on Viki.

Premiere Watch: Night Has Come

by missvictrix

ZTZFLCZCYMZWBV45FZWWACDNRY.jpg

Time slot: Monday; Thursdays
Broadcaster: LG’s U+ Mobile TV
Genre: Horror, mystery, thriller, youth
Episode count: 12

Reasons to watch: LG’s new streaming platform is back after High Cookie with its next production: a creepy teen horror that takes a field trip game to deadly proportions. Youth dramas like this one are always such a fun showcase for new and rising talent — indeed, White Christmas and its amazing cast (and creepy psychological overtones) come to mind here. I’m not saying — or even suggesting — that we’ll get the next gen version of that drama here, but hey, it’s fun to think about. Night Has Come stars Lee Jae-in, Kim Woo-seok, Choi Ye-bin, Cha Woo-min, and more. (Depending on your region and how streaming rights vary for this drama, you’ll likely get a drop of several eps, and then weekly drops of additional episodes during December.)

TL;DR: High school “trust no one” horror giving off White Christmas vibes

Night Has Come: Episodes 1-4 (First Impressions)

by solstices

When a seemingly innocuous deduction game turns into a desperate race to stay alive, an isolated group of high school students must navigate through horrific deaths, mounting suspicion, and the game’s arbitrary rules in order to survive. The question is, can they find a way out — or is there even a way out at all?

Editor’s note: This is an opening review only.

EPISODES 1-4

Right off the bat, the drama immerses us headfirst into a downright eerie opening. Our protagonist LEE YOON-SEO (Lee Jae-in) finds herself in an empty compound, haunted by a dead body and a long-haired specter — and then she startles awake on the bus to their high school field trip. The youth center they arrive at gives Yoon-seo a strange sense of deja vu, but she doesn’t yet realize that it’s the same one from her dream.

Their teacher heads out to pick up another class, leaving the students alone to entertain themselves till nightfall. Not an easy task, considering there’s no internet connection out here. Then, an unknown app installs itself on the students’ phones — including Yoon-seo’s, even though she hadn’t bothered to scan the youth center’s QR code. Something else has gained access to all their phones.

The mysterious app turns out to be a mafia game amongst the students, and its rules are deceptively simple. It’s a social deduction game, in which the civilian majority and mafia minority must eliminate the other side to win. Within the civilian team, there are two special roles: each night, the doctor can give one player immunity, and the police officer can investigate one player’s role. Together, they’ll need to vote off all the mafia members — or else the mafia will win by killing them all, picking them off one by one every night.

Thinking it’s just a harmless game, the students vote out the class clown HEO YUL (Park Yoon-ho) — and if you’ve seen the pre-release teaser, you already know what’s coming next. Yul’s eyes go white, he bashes his head against the floor, and then he’s sprinting right through the hallway window. The rest of the students gape in shock and terror, and the game shifts into the night phase. A melodious chime plays over the youth center’s speakers, making everyone collapse to the floor, sound asleep.

When morning dawns, Yul’s broken body still lies several floors below. To make matters worse, there’s been one more death — the mafia had executed one of their own last night. It’s the bullied kid Choi Joo-won, thoroughly discomfiting fellow outcast JIN DA-BEOM (Ahn Ji-ho). For some reason, no one suspects the bully GO KYUNG-JOON (Cha Woo-min) and his posse, but then again I suppose they wouldn’t kill off the pushover they constantly extort money from.

The empathetic Yoon-seo suggests that they move their classmates’ bodies to the freezer, rather than leaving them to rot in the heat. Together with her best friend OH JUNG-WON (Choi Ye-bin), Yoon-seo musters up the courage to face the corpses again — and that’s where her love for detective novels and investigative instincts come in handy. A further examination of Joo-won’s body reveals that he’d been repeatedly hit head-on with a fire extinguisher, yet he hadn’t made any attempt to flee or defend himself.

It’s beginning to seem like there are paranormal forces at play, and Yoon-seo’s firsthand experience seems to reinforce this theory. Back when they’d first arrived at the youth center, the catty vice-president KIM SO-MI (Jung Sori) had shoved Yoon-seo into the swimming pool under the guise of a birthday surprise. Before Yoon-seo could swim out, someone had grabbed her ankle, dragging her down to the pool’s depths.

Luckily, class president KIM JOON-HEE (Kim Woo-seok) arrived on the scene just in time to dive in and rescue her, his desperation to save her momentarily outweighing his traumatic memories of someone drowning in a pool (because of course, every high school hero must have some kind of trauma). Yoon-seo is clearly nursing a crush on Joon-hee, given how her gaze is always fixed on him whenever he’s not looking, but his sincere concern for her hints that her feelings may be reciprocated. (Too bad, So-mi, he’s just not that into you.)
